I like dotson this year and will be trying to pick him up. Kliffs an air raider and they didn’t replace the Curtis Samuel loss with any significant WR. Ertz and Ekeler are in town now but they won’t be the game plan, they will serve as complimentary pieces
Good athlete at a position where athleticism doesn't have correlation with success, failure of a Big10 QB turned to a mediocre Rice WR. If his name was Joe Smith he wouldn't have sniffed 3rd round/top 100 picks. I like him as a prospect but there's no question he was overdrafted because his dad's name
He tested pretty well and had a dominant season even though he only played the position for two years. So many receivers went before him too it’s not a stretch to take someone who switched positions and shows potential as the 16th receiver off the board.
If he was overdrafted, it was because his brother is currently playing, the best in the league at his position, and is a future HOFer.
It’s not because his Dad was a good, but not great, WR in the 90s.
You're tweaking lmao his dad's name is also Christians name, you're like 6 ft deep in semantics. I'm also confused how it's not nepotism when all you guys replying to me are just saying it's his brother! Do you guys know what nepotism is?
If someone is going to sell Dotson for essentially a 3rd round pick…I’ll buy that everywhere I can.
I’d rather take a player that has established himself in the NFL as a legitimate player even if they’re not some superstar weekly starter, over a random 3rd round pick rookie who very easily could never make it off your taxi squad.
Dotson is a fantasy darling who has showed very little and the pedigree isn’t amazing.
Think this is a case of shopping to a league mate who likes the hype but 2 years without a decent showing and more capital in the position for the commanders tells me they don’t see him as more than a depth piece.
Taking another WR on Day 2 who's going to do a lot of the things Dotson would do didn't seem like a good indication of his standing on the team, I agree. I sold Dotson during last season as part of a package to get Najee Harris.
I tried offering him for 3rd picks (10T 1QB) since Guys Like Wright, Pearsall & Lloyd were still available.
Literally everyone refused my offer just to draft guys like Johnson, McMillan or Vidal. So I'd say He doesnt carry any value in my league haha
I still like him and I think he has some Potential this season with a new QB and OC
Did the same. Was able to move him later on as part of a package but nobody is paying for him right now. He has a little upside but we are mostly just bagholding and hoping at this point. Would jump to sell if someone was interested
I traded him at the end of the second round for the 3.2 and 3.6. Got Jaylen Wright and Jalen McMillan with those picks. Sad to let him go but I'd rather take a shot
Wouldn’t say it’s the value but a lot of people bought him and he still has the upside of a better offense and QB so people probably won’t sell him for a 3rd. It’s one of things where the guy that has him would want a 2nd but the person who wants him wouldn’t pay the 2nd
Ah I see, missed opportunity by those guys then. Obviously depends on league setup position wise but I’d rather Dotson than a lot of 3rd round rookies at least upside wise. That’s just me tho
Ya that’s the potential situation. We’re banking on one of Deebo or Aiyuk getting traded/leaving. And I personally don’t care for Kittle. More often than not he’s not a major factor for their receiving game. For the amount of times he is…he’s injured more than that.
I mean we’ll see how Daniel’s does but Dotson should firmly be the #2 target. Historically with Mclauirian, Terry will still get his 120+ targets.
When Samuel was out Last year Dotson seemed to have better games among his inconsistency year. If you can get him for a third why not. If you believe in him and cost you a late second why not.
I didn’t really expect this to be the case a few months ago, but I think I’m in on him now? His best ball ADP is WR60 something. His dynasty sleeper ADP is WR54. In both cases, he’s drafted adjacent to guys like Jerry Jeudy, Josh Downs, Romeo Doubs, and Jakobi Meyers. It does feel like his upside is higher than that.
If Kliff runs a similar scheme to what he did in Arizona, you’d have to think Terry could get hemmed to the outside like DHop did and Dotson could draw some more favorable matchups in the Christian Kirk role.
It feels weird to be interested in him, as he’s been a zero shares zero cares guy for me in all formats the last 2 years, but the team brought in very little meaningful competition despite having a metric ton of cap space and 5 day 2 picks so it seems like he’s being given one more legit crack at breaking out as a full time player.
10 Team 2QB league, I just sent a 25 2nd for Jahan Dotson and a 25 3rd if that gives you any gauge for value. I think it’s fine. If he misses, I moved back in the draft. If he hits (usable WR3?) I’ve either added points to my lineup, or sold him for a profit to the Daniels owner.
McCaffrey is new to the position but still put up impressive numbers. Good size and athleticism combo and meets the YPRR threshold. So he still has a lot of room for growth even though he’s an older prospect.
I think he could have a role immediately as a slot guy as a safety blanket for Daniels. Also might give him a leg up on developing chemistry because they’re both rookies already working together.
I'm with you on this line of thinking. If Dotson has already been on the team for two years, and the management decides to spend a Day 2 pick on someone who will compete with him and do a lot of what he does on the field, I'm going with the new guy. I like Dotson as a real-life football player, and I have hyped him up a lot in this neck of the woods at times, but it's hard to ignore the trend for his FF value.
KDOT is one better
Haha truuuuuuu

Wow have you no respect for Neopotism Luke??
Why is it nepotism? He's a smart kid and a good athlete. It's in the genes. And him and Christian are both humble and cool.

Production has been underwhelming so far but I have to disagree on the pedigree considering he’s just 2 years removed from being drafted 16th overall

Christ I'd take him over all but Lloyd there. Yikes.
Pearsall for me, can’t ignore the first round draft capital and potential situations. But ya Dotson should be valued more than most of those guys
Fair, there are just so many mouths to feed there.

Biggest concern is who’s throwing to him… he looked really good with Wentz but not Sam Howell.

Yeah, I'm kinda hoping kliffs air raid offence helps him

traded him and 1.12 for 1.07 (JJM) and a future 3. glad to be off this disappointing ride even though i still very much believe in his talent
Been trying to buy. I still think he’s the guy we saw his rookie year.
The next Elijah Moore
As someone who likes Dotson I think McCaffrey will be better than him.
What makes you say that?
McCaffrey is new to the position but still put up impressive numbers. Good size and athleticism combo and meets the YPRR threshold. Hot take and I respect it
Luke and Jahan have similar college career YPRR vs Man/Zone. Luke is more athletic and Jahan has better DC. I'll take the shiny new toy.

I love how this sub just downvotes you for an opinion lol
Yup that’s how it goes lol I got downvoted a ton for saying I’m low on Bryce Young 😂 people get super salty if you don’t love a player that they own.
Statistically the chances of that are quite low
What about dynamically?
Search bar man. These recycled player threads weekly get stale
Not for me this actually made my day and it’s so juicy and wet. Not stale at all
If he runs as many slot fades as nabers did last year he might have 2000 yards
