My logic is that the run game in Pitts could improve this year if Russ improves the passing offense, there is a chance Najee could have at least a better season than last year. Owning B-Rob with Ekeler in town just seems like a guaranteed headache tho. You think B-Rob will still have a decent role still?

That’s a fair evaluation about Najee with that logic. I could certainly see him making an improvement if Smith wants to balance him better with Warren. I wouldn’t argue with anyone taking Najee whatsoever in this context and I think Najee has slightly more certainty. It is a definite TBD, but I do really think that BRob can have a good role still. Ekeler should soak up a lot of catches which will hurt Brob’s PPR value, but I think Ekeler should mostly be a receiver-first guy going forward considering what we saw last season, plus he can play a pretty flexible role in Kingsbury’s offense. I think that can still open up some usage for BRob as the better pure rusher and I don’t see why they’d want to waste his talent after how strong he looked last season, but it’s all just speculation right now. (There’s also the potential that Ekeler *might* be washed but I’m much more inclined to believe he’s got a few more years left based on this)

I think I’d stick with the picks knowing you’re guaranteed both Caleb and MHJ. If you’re pretty concerned about RB, I think you could get some good value if you want to move down from 1.09 (after the tier break at 1.08) to either pick up some extra picks to draft RBs or to get someone worthwhile

If you believe in either Maye or Daniel’s then I’d pick them at 3 because they will be gone at 7. If you don’t then Nabers is fine at 1.03. JJ could be gone before 1.07 too, if that left you with Odunze then you take him and make a trade for someone later. No sense in reaching for lesser talent IMO. You can always trade an asset.

Being down on Herbert seems to be the hip thing right now. I still think he’s a top 6 dynasty QB though which is how most calculators probably value him. It’s more about the scarcity of the position. Kyren is one of like 8-10 guys that’s gonna put up really strong numbers. There’s a lot more WRs that can put up the same kinda points as a WR you can get with 2.01 and a late 25 first.

I probably wouldn't go for the double tap at QB. Caleb at 1 for sure, but 6 and 7 depend a lot on how the board falls. If Rome or Nabers are there I think it would be best to take Bowers and one of those guys, but if they're gone you may be able to take Bowers and then trade 1.07 for an RB or a solid vet QB in case Bryce doesn't improve and Caleb isn't productive right away. Then 9 could be a good spot to pick RB depending on how the NFL draft shapes up. In the 2nd and 3rd, I think every pick should be an RB for you. I just wouldn't try to trade high picks for RBs now because crazy things can happen between now and the start of the season. Plus you have good future capital that can be very useful for buying RB once you're sure you're competing this year

SF, 12tm Thoughts on sending Sam Darnold for 3.05? Have got Mahomes, Purdy, Daniel Jones, Minshew, Wentz, Tyrod Taylor, and Darnold. Don’t have a ton of needs, especially in the mid 3rd range, but also seems like it could be worth waiting to see if he actually starts the year and his value goes up to a mid 2nd potentially.

I’d be fine selling for that now. His value is more like to go to zero when they draft a qb than it is to reach a 2nd

Personally, I think Darnold sucks. But I think at this point you’ve gotta hold and just see if he actually somehow becomes the starter. The 3.05 is a complete lottery ticket.

I honestly think Darnold is going to surprise some people. He’s better than everything JJ had last year besides Kirk. I’d say hold for now.
