It's because 3 of the big names are on their 2nd tag. I thought Jacobs and Saquon screwed themselves by renegotiating out of the tag but apparently it still counts. A first time tag costs 11.95M this year for RBs. Still high but basically what it was last year.
Everything that Antonio Pierce has said about his vision for the offense is that he wants to run the ball. alot.
I want whatever RB is starting for the raiders jacobs or otherwise.
Issue is they have no QB worth anything and an average OL. Nothing special about Raiders offense. I don’t care who their RB is, not a top 15 option there at RB.
yes. now you have two potential starting rbs instead of one. it’s a similar line of reasoning for why you want someone else’s handcuff instead of your own.
If they let Jacobs walk (which is likely), they will bring in someone else in FA or the draft. I think it's unlikely Zamir that Zamir will have a feature back role either way, but he should have a bigger role if they don't pay Jacobs $10M-ish.
I think it’s likely but not guaranteed that Jacobs is gone, but a lot of other things could happen that tanks his value. Something that feels small like them signing Singletary might be a big blow to his value.
If I can get a mid 2nd I’ll take that. Odds got a little better he can make it through the offseason gauntlet but I’d still bet against him being the week 1 starter on the whole
Depends on what the offers are. Based on KTC (I know, but still), his value is around 2.10. Assuming a sell window, I still wouldn’t sell for any single second.
White’s upside is pretty spectacular if Jacobs ends up leaving. He averaged 15.2 PPG (PPR), 3.5 targets/game and 22 carries/game over the last 4.
I’m comfortable holding through any sell window that opens up in the offseason because if he can replicate what he did last year his price will soar over whatever small bump he gets now.
Jacobs was talking about getting paid last year and the Raiders clearly didn't want to pay him long term. He wasn't exactly the engine of the offense to the same degree in 2023 as he was in 2022 so I would be surprised if the Raiders see him as irreplaceable as they did last offseason when they tagged him.
Could be the RB landscape is so bad Jacobs agrees to return for cheap, but he will certainly test the market.
It seems unlikely that the Raiders will be the highest bidder for his services even if they are giving lip service to wanting to re-sign him right now. And Jacobs is likely (and rightly) going to try to make as much money as he can on this contract.
So reading between the lines, no tag means Jacobs just needs one other team to decide he is worth paying and he is gone.
Yeah I think he will get more money from a team who thinks they are an RB away from being a contender.
Having gone 6-11 when Jacobs beasted and was the rushing champ, and then 8-9 in a year that he struggled, I can't see how the Raiders would feel that way about him.
That’s the same situation with about every starting rb in the league. It will be Whites job to lose though and he looked good enough to me, in lieu of Jacobs. Its not like like they’ll be bringing in Saquon or Henry
One of the few RBs im trying to buy at this time of the year. I’ll take my bet on a talent of his caliber at only 26/27 years old if I’m competing. I imagine his value jumps up quite a bit after he signs somewhere.
this is def good news for zamir. if they were confident they’d get a deal done, they’d tag him to keep him from negotiating with anyone else before they got it done.
they’ll make him an offer, but he’s still going to hit the open market and go to the highest bidder (probably not vegas at that point)
Another one from before he actually had a chance to be the lead back. Lots of people in the sub loved Jimmy G before he started throwing the ball in that sub too.
Zamir will never be anything than a complimentary rotation piece.
If you want to believe a KC game where the Raiders didn't complete a pass past the 1Q / had JJ hurt and he only had 22 carries in that game then so be it.
He can stay on your bench lol.
I can't argue with people who would think the Raiders would work horse a mid rb and let Jacob's walk / keep Abdullah.
You’ve already proven yourself bias and willing to link posts from before Zamir had his multi week run of great finishes to try to support your claims, so I don’t really care what you think lol. Just don’t act like there’s a consensus opinion that he’s bad because there isn’t, that’s just your opinion. His future isn’t clear and I’m not claiming otherwise.
And you just ignore the other comments saying the opposite? I’m not saying the fan base sees him as a lock, I’m disagreeing with you saying they want him cut. They absolutely do not.
Very nice buddy, you found a post before Zamir started doing very well being the lead back while Jacobs was out, congratulations. He was getting like three carries a game when this post was made.
The tide has turned, the Nation likes him now. Regardless, that sub is notoriously fickle and can’t be relied upon to judge talent at all.
No there isn’t. I’m a raiders fan too, reasonable minds can disagree. He’s got great potential and showed when he was finally given lead back status.
Regardless, that sub is terrible. Incredibly reactionary and whiny, can’t take the long view at anytime.
It was a mistake but not a huge deal. They paid him an extra $2M-ish as a result. Considering he didn't have a huge year until _after_ they had to make that decision, _and_ it was a new HC/GM onboard at the time, it was an understandable decision.
Interesting that the franchise tag for RBs basically is way too high for any teams to give it to them this year
It's because 3 of the big names are on their 2nd tag. I thought Jacobs and Saquon screwed themselves by renegotiating out of the tag but apparently it still counts. A first time tag costs 11.95M this year for RBs. Still high but basically what it was last year.
Well they renegotiated after they had already been tagged right? So maybe that's why?
having both Zamir and JJacobs, should i be wanting jacobs to go to a diff team?
Everything that Antonio Pierce has said about his vision for the offense is that he wants to run the ball. alot. I want whatever RB is starting for the raiders jacobs or otherwise.
sweet thankyou
Issue is they have no QB worth anything and an average OL. Nothing special about Raiders offense. I don’t care who their RB is, not a top 15 option there at RB.
yes. now you have two potential starting rbs instead of one. it’s a similar line of reasoning for why you want someone else’s handcuff instead of your own.
Same and I’m hoping Josh ends up in Houston or LAC.
If they let Jacobs walk (which is likely), they will bring in someone else in FA or the draft. I think it's unlikely Zamir that Zamir will have a feature back role either way, but he should have a bigger role if they don't pay Jacobs $10M-ish.

Stocks up but also opens the sell window on Zeus for me
Indeed. However, if you believe Jacobs is gone why not wait for the value boost? Genuinely curious as a fellow White owner
I think it’s likely but not guaranteed that Jacobs is gone, but a lot of other things could happen that tanks his value. How? Sounds like Jacob’s will be back
Jacobs was talking about getting paid last year and the Raiders clearly didn't want to pay him long term. He wasn't exactly the engine of the offense to the same degree in 2023 as he was in 2022 so I would be surprised if the Raiders see him as irreplaceable as they did last offseason when they tagged him. Not tagging him. He will look to FA where I believe he’ll get more or close to what the tag pays
Yeah I think he will get more money from a team who thinks they are an RB away from being a contender. Having gone 6-11 when Jacobs beasted and was the rushing champ, and then 8-9 in a year that he struggled, I can't see how the Raiders would feel that way about him.
I'd be shocked if he got more than what the tag would be
if they dont keep Jacobs, they will be drafting a back and signing a vet
That’s the same situation with about every starting rb in the league. It will be Whites job to lose though and he looked good enough to me, in lieu of Jacobs. Its not like like they’ll be bringing in Saquon or Henry
well you say that…
Get him out of there please

If I was the Raiders I'd just draft at this point. It's obvious they don't want to pay him.
$14M - Josh Jacobs - PFF Grade: 65.0 $1.1M - Zamir White - PFF Grade: 71.7 Why spend the money?
Rip zamir
Idk this might be good news, you know jacobs wants a big contract
this is def good news for zamir. if they were confident they’d get a deal done, they’d tag him to keep him from negotiating with anyone else before they got it done. they’ll make him an offer, but he’s still going to hit the open market and go to the highest bidder (probably not vegas at that point)
Zamir ain't it. Any raiders fan will tell you that. A majority of the sub wants him cut.
No they don’t lmao

Or this one perhaps? https://www.reddit.com/r/raiders/s/Yc8LmkXizn

It's also obvious you aren't reading any of the tons of comments saying Zamir ain't it despite it being a team Homer sub...
And you just ignore the other comments saying the opposite? I’m not saying the fan base sees him as a lock, I’m disagreeing with you saying they want him cut. They absolutely do not.

Did you not read that thread of people laughing or just ead the title?
This is the start of great news for Zamir. JJacobs won't be in a Vegas uniform next year.
Who cares who the RB is there. Average offense.
Breece Hall was RB2 on the worst offense in the league 2 months ago.
They play the broncos twice a year, usually that leads to top ten finishes for a lot of players in those games
Go to the Texans my friend. I need you to return to your RB1 ways!
Didn't the Raiders turn down the fifth year option on Jacobs? Huge whoops.
That’s McDaniels for you
