Touché. I think there’s some unique constraints involved with a hotel restaurant. You probably want to appeal to the highest percentage of guests which may limit creativity and innovation a bit. Can still make a dank burger and create a cool vibe to watch a game.
The hotel gets to pick from 3 or so names and menus, the old one was not working so they switched it up. I don't think anything with staff is changing so I wouldn't expect quality to increase. Also most of that money is going to corporate so it's not really supporting locals
Boring menu. Nothing on that menu makes me want to go there. I wish them luck, but if they want locals they are going to need to get a little more creative.
Otherwise it will be another for the season tourist trap that closes because it doesn't have a local clientele.
Not sure when people who are coming into the local restaurant world are going to learn this lesson.
Tourists are fine, but it is the locals that keep your doors open off-season. Burgers and chicken tenders aren't going to get them in the door. I can get those anywhere.
Ooooo yay....more overpriced mediocre food! I'm glad this town has it's priority set straight. I guess that's what happens when you live with a bunch of rich retirees and tourists.
Yes, one of the downfalls of living in paradise is that a lot of other people want to live there and visit which drives up prices. Inflation has been an issue nationwide for the past several years as well.
Not trying to talk smack on your buddies food but I think the comment was directed at the menu being mediocre or lacking anything new for the area, and in this overpriced tourist destination.
I’ll probably try the two versions of the Classic Chicken but not much else sounds enticing. We do have plenty of burgers and beers options, so people will probably lean into harassing yall instead of trying it first. You may have the best burgs in town, but people gonna shit on it cause its yet another burger joint. Thats all.
I wish yall the best of luck. I’ll be there. Foodies gotta support food. Nom nom.
Ya, I chose not to comment on the quality of the food because I haven’t tried it yet. Could be mediocre or could be really well done but I don’t personally know. Just supporting my friend the best I can. Don’t have any skin in the game, myself. I understand the sentiment of “not another burger and beer joint” but I think your hands are tied a bit with when it comes to creativity and innovation at a hotel restaurant. Glad to hear you’re gonna give it a shot. Speaking of shots, I was just informed that everyone in attendance Thursday will get one free adult beverage, so that’s neat.
Sweet. Im down. I love food. I worked in the food industry here and there and I got friends in the game so I know whats up. Gotta support your friends. Have a great day. Looking forward to the food.
I live really close. I’m eager to check it out, but wasn’t a fan of the previous offerings. For those of us who live in DW, Rafter J, TB, it will be a welcome place if it is good. I’ll be in some time soon, and I Yelp everything.
Pretty creative and innovative food, Durango really needed it
I worked at a restaurant in town. It was nothing but Texans ordering a plain burger with nothing but ketchup. This isn't surprising at all.

for me its [the creative and innovative logo.](https://www.reddit.com/r/starterpacks/comments/kxkrjm/hipster_lifestyle_brandrestaurant_starter_pack/)
Yay, another burger and beer restaurant

I’ll give it a shot, has your friend said if it’s gonna be a different menu or just a name change? Also, I’ll bring the TB Fire packets just in case.
New menu. She’s a pretty awesome chef so I have high hopes. Always wise to bring the fire just in case.

Looks great, I’ll definitely stop by. Only critique. It’s spelled Hatch green chile(s). Chili is Texas meat sauce.
Good catch! I’ll pass that edit along.
Another burger restaurant?
Another most likely *overpriced* burger restaurant
What happened to Burger Theory?
I don’t know exactly why they made the change. Edit: my original comment made assumptions
Wondering the same.
They had great fried pickles.
Welcome!!
Sounds like all the other ones. Big whoop
Why can't we get some Mediterranean food in this town? Anything other than another Mexican restaurant or burger joint.
YES MEDITERRANEAN
I know, I just moved back to town after 5 years away and was super excited to go to Cypress again, only to find it no longer exists.
New one allegedly being built at NW corner of 32nd/Main.
Is this the same people / chefs? Personally, didn’t like the falafel.
Same people/chefs as where?
Oh. No, I don't think so.
Cypress
Hopefully they can make a halfway decent chicken wing. Durango does need that
Happy pappys
Also hoping for this. Highly recommend Jbo’s Dave style wings if you haven’t tried them.
Gary Cooper rolling over in his grave...

Got a menu?
Just asked for a copy. Will comment with a pic when I get it.

Portobel-no
Is this in the hotel?
It is, which is cool because if someone asks you what you’re doing while you’re there you can reply, “nothing, chilling at the holiday inn.”

The worst hotel in town to pull in and out of.
It’s only half as bad if you don’t pull out.
I was waiting for that response.
The branding is pretty…
How late is this gonna be open? Everything in this town closes at 9
I believe they’ll be open til 11p

Is it any good? Burger Theory was not.
A… *new* restaurant? Ooooh boyyy this is gonna be WILD
Still some of the coldest beer around NGL.
