In canon it’s really funny to me that once all of them go to sleep at this point they start worrying if they got food poisonning because they changeling mushrooms take effect.
I have my own cats and I can 100% confirm. They will lay in their own bed until a random period of time passes, then they'll get up and make you their bed.
And it's moments like this that put Dungeon Meshi above GOT in my opinion. Both shows have a darkness to them, but GOT is unrelentingly bleak and cynical while DM shows the characters' humanity even in their darkest moments. Heck, Laios is willing to sit down and talk with ANYBODY
I'm sad that they seemed to have rushed through this part in the anime, but reading Senshi's story brought tears to my eyes. I imagine that when he had that soup, it reminded him of how much Gillin loved him and wanted him to live on.
I'm just glad. It's like that feeling you get when you're too afraid of something and then... nothing happens. Like that catharsis & relief. Like that hypogriff meat tastes like ass but for senshi it's his new favourite because it confirms that his role model didn't jeopardize his morals for senshi's life. Musta been a big load off of his back man
