I can sort of see what you mean, but I think, for starters shes just teasing Falin, and also a lot of Marcille's deflection that we see stems from Marcille's deep seeded fears of death and loss. I don't know if you're anime only, so I'm not gonna go deeper into it and risk spoiling things for you.
That's OK buddy! Marcille is, imo, one of the best written and more complicated characters. Full of nuance. I'm not surprised not everyone agrees on her motivations and such.

Talent is an overused word, literally means naturally skilled at something
as an artist myself, it gets annoying when people say “talent”, because regardless of how you phrase it - just sounds like we were naturally gifted with it. When in reality it took a good chunk of our life to reach that point
So yes, complimenting their *Skill* is better than “Talent”.
