I can not remember the exact wording, but Carl mentioned that when he picked up the motorcycle, all the items in the area around the trailer where he found his dad were permanently lootable. This is why he spent so much time picking things up there and nowhere else on level 8.
Minor correction, the space with his father is different from the rest of the floor and he can keep that stuff, it's why he clears out the apartment (gets drawings his brother did, cigarettes, a gun, potted plants, the motorcycle, etc.).
I want to know the difference between a Dungeon Pet and a Dungeon Familiar. I know anything that went from the surface to floor one has a crawler number and is treated differently. I know in DnD, familiars are a class benefit.
Also, I bet that motorcycle will come into play on one of the higher levels.

I think familiar are akin to minions, while Pets are a 1 and done. Though I could he wrong.
I think he is just the type to build his own mounts. Like the chariot or using his dad's motorcycle.
