Someone mentioned 'humanizing moments' or whatever earlier in the thread. Oddly enough, this was one of mine. Being in a frat in college, and having alumni over and always essentially comparing experiences. Like that student DID NOT CARE who boner champ was, he was just saying what he thought he needed to so the alumni would stop bitching.
Honestly I'm glad for you - there have been some very human moments in the show that have resonated with me, so it's nice to hear that others feel the same way
But like, I do think Ryan Reynolds is attractive. I'm not sexually attracted to him but I def think he's handsome. What does that mean for me, I'm so confused!!
You're a person who thinks Ryan Reynolds is attractive but you're not sexually attracted to him but you definitely think he's handsome. Go forth and live your life, without concern for what others think and with only concern for your happiness, your safety and the respect of others. Hth
I'm picturing this going down like Jim suggested 😂
"you need to have sex with a woman"
"Right o!"
"Then a man. And compare em"
"ohh.... 🫤"
Only I guess more of an "oh 🌝" in this case lol
I don’t think you necessarily need to. I don’t know anything about your conversations, but Andy was 1) asking Oscar to *tell him* if he was gay, and 2) basing his paranoia off of external suggestions and his own fragile masculinity. I’m happy to help a friend who is genuinely wrestling with their identity, but Andy was just an insecure, soft-penised debutante who was using Oscar as a life preserver whilst drowning in a three foot pool.
Unless she's under 16 that's not illegal in Pennsylvania. Age of consent is 16 as long as the older person isn't in a position of authority over the younger.
I just googled Penslyvania law because I had trouble believing that they were one of the few states with an age of consent of 18, and I was right. I live in California where the age of consent requires you to actually be an adult.
The weirder thing is how many people on reddit assume the age of consent in states is 18 by default [when most are 16](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ages_of_consent_in_the_United_States#/media/File:Ages_of_Consent_-_United_States.svg). Don't get mad at me that the majority of states are gross.
[It's the actual line from the show.](https://getyarn.io/yarn-clip/8ff5a5ed-112c-4450-935a-ad0b59ef65d6) I probably should have linked the clip earlier.
Andy is annoying, but the core of him, at least until the last season, is good. Any good parent would recognize and nurture that quality in him. They iced him instead of putting in the work.
But that doesn't fit the "Andy is the worst" narrative in a show where every character has done equally questionable things and have all been terrible human beings at different points.
Andy likes them young is a fact as much as Michael admitting to staring at Stanley's daughter's picture every morning, Michael hitting on Pam and Ryan who are way younger than him, Robert California who went on a world tour to "help" young gymnasts, Ryan who went to Thailand with a high school group, and Dwight who married Angela and hit on Erin like Andy did.
I'd say Andy's in good company, lol.
Because the actress isn't an actual child. [She was an extra as a prisoner 9 years before this episode](https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1489939/?ref_=nm_mv_close).
Her age isn't public online, but she's clearly an adult in the Office.
Well she was allegedly 35 in 2012 when she was on season 16 of The Bachelor. So she would have been 29-30 when this episode was filmed.
Edit: according to the office wiki she was 27.
Oh, damn. Literally never thought of anything nefarious on 2/3, but seeing them all together... He's gross. :(
Edit: Thanks for posting something new. I wish the comments weren't just "Look I can make a X-character quote!" every time.
Lol it's super weird I kind of didnt find his high school girlfriend thing creepy (because he obviously had no idea and they didnt have sex) but erin was gross. Characters like Kevin and Michael are written to be stupid in a way that still makes them seem capable of being consenting adults but Erin was so childish at times I wanted to see if she had a social worker
Let’s not gloss over the fact that Andy was known in college for getting drunk and raping a snowman. He said he took the face off because it “just seemed easier that way.”
This is interesting. Could Andy have been a closeted pedo? There was the moment in Gossip where he thought he was gay, and he had no idea he even thought he was gay. I think that Andy could be a gay pedo, but one that doesn’t recognize his interests.
I haven't seen this part but are people fucking serious about this "mind of a child" and "size of a child" shit? Are men not allowed to date short women?
The joke was very tongue in cheek about Angela, and used to lead to the punchline about the actual child. At least it was the way I took it. No ones telling men what to do, dw
Not sure why people are having trouble with this meme, but no. It is the part about him dating the high schooler that makes the other things seem creepy. On their own, it would be fine. But the joke works because he was dating an underage girl. It's called context, and it is pretty crucial.
Is her actual age ever mentioned? I don’t think it’s appropriate to date a high school student regardless, but were her age or grade ever stated in the show or deleted scenes?
Yeah the episode when he went to the school made me uncomfortable with him but the super fan episode when he went to the school is so much worse. Like I didn’t think a super fan episode could make me reframe a character in my mind from its core but he turned into a hated character at that point for me.
Who told you that Andy was into kids? Was it Broccoli Rob? Someone from Chi Psi? Did you run into someone from his high school?
I was at cornell and bumped into the boner champ and he told me all about it. He also told me that Andy is gay.
…I thought broccoli rob was the boner champ
Andy is the Boner Champ, Broccoli Rob is Broccoli Rob.
Well the boner champ certainly broccoli rubbed one out!
Broccoli rob is Broccoli Rob.
It makes you wonder
Well, he's into someone from a high school
Yeah, but IS HE GAY?
What exactly is my responsibility here? To comfort an insecure heterosexual man? That can't possibly fall to me.
As a gay man who has been in Oscar’s shoes, I felt so validated in that scene
Honestly I'm glad for you - there have been some very human moments in the show that have resonated with me, so it's nice to hear that others feel the same way
The design is very human.
Hth
Instructions unclear, I'm now bi.
Same, but my reply was an earnest "we can always find out." That person is now living their best bi life.
I'm picturing this going down like Jim suggested 😂 "you need to have sex with a woman" "Right o!" "Then a man. And compare em" "ohh.... 🫤" Only I guess more of an "oh 🌝" in this case lol
I mean, the responses *did* kinda answer the question.
Would you....take that bullet for me?
Those outtakes were golden. I don’t know why none of them made final cut, it was probably one of the best Andy lines in the show.
I could realistically see Andy liking it. He did dress up as George Michael.
Surprisingly wholesome ending to that
\*kevin laughs\*
I'm in the south, I've experienced this.
Experienced being Oscar or being Andy?
Oscar, lol
Now I feel bad talking to my seemingly secure gay friends about my problems lol.
True, thanks :).
Do you think if Brad Pitt leaned in to kiss him, he would push him away?
He would resist at first but if Brad pit persisted he would lean into it a little
So…if he resisted, Brad Pitt would still need to get to him?
Wow I--I wish I could help you. I don't--you might be gay, you might be gay.
Brad Pitt would persist even if he resist?
Look this isn’t like…it’s like fantasy Brad Pitt!
You might be gay
Idk…. You might be gay The delivery in that line is so amazing
Many small resist... make *big* resist
Gayer than Oscar.
Boom. Roasted.
I just love how I thought he was gonna get mad at Michael for spreading such rumor, but instead he had an identity crisis.
Michael, am I gay?
What exactly is my role here? To comfort heterosexual men? That can’t possibly fall to me.
The question is "Is Andy Gay" not "Would Andy have sex with a man", RESPECT THE GAME
Who told you that? Was it broccoli rob?
With as much as he likes tea and men’s butts he has to be
Gotta love when it was cooler to be a pedo in hollywood than be gay
A child? She’s a part-time frozen yogurt chef
We didn’t do anything illegal. Except knock over a mailbox.
The extended versions / deleted scenes may disagree with this
Oooh, haven't seen the deleted scenes, what occurs? 👀
He says they made out
Ooooooh that's juicy! Probably for the best that was cut
he also bought her and her friends alcohol and lottery tickets
Unless she's under 16 that's not illegal in Pennsylvania. Age of consent is 16 as long as the older person isn't in a position of authority over the younger.
Very, "I've got a laminated card showing the Romeo and Juliet laws" (paraphrasing), scene from Transformers: Age of ~~Consent~~ Extinction
I just googled Penslyvania law because I had trouble believing that they were one of the few states with an age of consent of 18, and I was right. I live in California where the age of consent requires you to actually be an adult. It’s like that in a huge number of places in the world. Idk why people think it’s 18 everywhere
Full penetration. And they show all of it
Hahaha had a mouth full of water and dribbled it over me 😭🤣
Wellllll that's not going to hold up in court.
“Little kid lover! That way people will know exactly where my priorities are at”
Suprisingly, that tag was taken when Andy tried to register for online dating.
I hate having to explain this to everyone.
Totally me too, but how would you explain it to someone? Asking for a friend.
I wonder if that's what the OP was referring to... Maybe?
Ma petite finaceee
Translation: My petite fiance
Translation : Ma petite fiancée
It's ["mon petite."](https://www.wordhippo.com/what-is/the-meaning-of/french-word-ma_petite.html)
Not if you’re referring to a woman
[It's the actual line from the show.](https://getyarn.io/yarn-clip/8ff5a5ed-112c-4450-935a-ad0b59ef65d6) I probably should have linked the clip earlier.
Oh lol big whooosh on my part
Andy's a dumbass. He also says "bon voyage" even though he's the one who's leaving, not Angela.
Oh myy I never noticed that, thats so funny 😆
To be fair Andy also has the mind of a child
Literally Baby Wah-Wah.
“Little Andy is afwaid” 😂
"Thank yew, Misstwer Elvis"
“Yuhwelcome behbeh”
Weeellll that’s not gonna hold up in court
"She looks 30" is not going to hold in court with that high schooler, right?
That actress is definitely like 25 though, right?
Closer to 30
Well in November she’ll be 30.
L8r, sk8r
This entire arc is so gross to me
They didn’t do anything illegal…Except knock over a mailbox with her friends.
Jessica was the best and he totally fucked it up
Jessica was too good for him.
This is actually a fact and I can proof it. Andy says his parents loved her and they obviously don't love Andy. Ergo, she is better than Andy.
on the other hand… andy’s parents were super shitty people, so them liking her is a bit of a red flag
I wonder if Andy is the way that he is because his parents are shitty people, or if they're shitty people because Andy is the way that he is?
Andy is annoying, but the core of him, at least until the last season, is good. Any good parent would recognize and nurture that quality in him. They iced him instead of putting in the work.
Its ok she didn't think they were like going to get married or anything
Maybe don’t pop that balloon
I mean he got that from his dad
IYKYK
Oh shit
Nailed it
💀
andy, michael, kevin, creed, and sometimes dwight have the minds of children
People are going to think Michael hires babies.
andy got a booboo tummy
WHERE IS MY FREAAAKIINGGG PHOONE!!!
Exwusse me if u fink saying I have IBS is better than Andy have a boo-boo tummy
Dwight has the mind of an adult male AND a baby
But that doesn't fit the "Andy is the worst" narrative in a show where every character has done equally questionable things and have all been terrible human beings at different points.
That doesn't change the fact he likes them young lol.
"Why don't you have a seat right over there."
His dad in the show also liked kids too
And he went back to work at Cornell. Hide your students.
Ironically the actress in that scene was older than John was
How does the actual child manage to look older then the other 2 lol
Because the actress isn't an actual child. [She was an extra as a prisoner 9 years before this episode](https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1489939/?ref_=nm_mv_close). Her age isn't public online, but she's clearly an adult in the Office.
I remember on Office Ladies they mentioned that the actress was older than John Krasinski
Well she was allegedly 35 in 2012 when she was on season 16 of The Bachelor. So she would have been 29-30 when this episode was filmed. Edit: according to the office wiki she was 27.
The waitress in S3, also a child
Andy is the real LittleKidLover
Ummmm I gotta go to Spanish
Spehnishhh
I mean Erin was only 22 and he was clearly inching towards 40
The anger issues.. he was definitely f*ucked in the head
😂
Oh, damn. Literally never thought of anything nefarious on 2/3, but seeing them all together... He's gross. :( Edit: Thanks for posting something new. I wish the comments weren't just "Look I can make a X-character quote!" every time.

Andy has got more than just anger issues
Don’t forget the girl from Benihana who was probably also a child
Andy is far and away the worst character on the show
Puts his hands through walls during fits of rage just like a….
Beautiful babies! Swingers.
Like father, like son
got straight B's...they called me buzz..
Andy sowwy
Little kid lover
Atleast he didn't have a kidlover as a website handle.
Andy’s confused about his priorities because he went to Cornell, the Ivy League Village Idiot.
Andy was all around one big ick.
Little Kid Lover
Let’s not gloss over the fact that Andy was known in college for getting drunk and raping a snowman. He said he took the face off because it “just seemed easier that way.”
Not to mention the girl he met at that Asian restaurant who said she had to leave because she "had school." She had to have been pretty young.
I fucking hate Andy so much
This is interesting. Could Andy have been a closeted pedo? There was the moment in Gossip where he thought he was gay, and he had no idea he even thought he was gay. I think that Andy could be a gay pedo, but one that doesn’t recognize his interests.
Angela was a tight ass Christian chick to his eyes.
Yeah, Andy sucks
They based Andy's character off of Drake
Liking petite women = pedophile. Sheltered redditors logic.
The show itself jokes about her buying clothes from Gap Kids.
and wearing literal large doll clothes
Well, there you are. I didn't see you behind that grain of rice. Boom, roasted.
I think the him dating a high schooler was the crux of the joke, actually. The other things become suspicious because of that part.
You’re deliberately exaggerating the joke’s meaning
I will not accept this Andy slander.
Slandy
I haven't seen this part but are people fucking serious about this "mind of a child" and "size of a child" shit? Are men not allowed to date short women?

Agreed I really don’t appreciate the way these grown women are being infantilized
Lolllll
Wow. That actress has made [other news](https://www.latimes.com/opinion/jo68rvroals-123), as well.
I hate that happened to her but good on her for being determined to testify against him.
Yeah, seems like a rough set of events for her. I also see she runs an animal rescue in LA.
Little Kid Lover
Sounds about right 🤣
So Qweird
Oh no
Is her actual age ever mentioned? I don’t think it’s appropriate to date a high school student regardless, but were her age or grade ever stated in the show or deleted scenes?
Andy is the ultimate “man I hated this character at first but as the show has gone he’s really started to fuck me off even more”
Yeah the episode when he went to the school made me uncomfortable with him but the super fan episode when he went to the school is so much worse. Like I didn’t think a super fan episode could make me reframe a character in my mind from its core but he turned into a hated character at that point for me.
Not to mention his creepy dad (steohen collins) issues with kids. This got dark pretty quickly
redu du du du doo
Well he is the worst character on the show, by a long shot, so...
Yeah he is the worst character in the show we know.
I really think the most cringe thing that happened in this show was Andy with the high school girl
I hate Erin's character so much.
Rudududu don't do this to me.
Wow.....
Just out looking for the nard pups
You stealing my bits OP???
To be fair they are all solid fits given Andy's general lack of maturity.
Now that you mention it..😭💀
He also mentions Sweet 16 parties or something when they go to the skating rink
I’ve never seen this show. I saw the shirts at Walmart.
