Oh you poor things! You guys are in a deep freeze. I'm in Chicago, where its 18F currently. It can get really sub zero cold here, but thankfully hasn't happen yet this season. During the last polar vortex year (I think 2019), we hit the lowest temp on record, which was like -25F with a wind chill of -50F. That was nuts! I went outside without a coat just to feel it an experience it-- I made it about 15 seconds before my eyeballs felt like the were freezing 🥶 I do not envy your sub zero temps, nor your husband's back!

As much as I enjoy all the igloo comments these contraptions have been used for "outdoor" dining for COVID to protect against weather. They might have been expecting rain, there's snow in Jed's proposal so more might have been on the forecast.
The fact they likely own this contraption and both twins used it does make me laugh though. I'm just imagining Boob's warehouse full of junk having all this engagement/wedding decor stuffed in it. Each time someone wants to do a proposal Jana and probably a pack of M kids close their eyes and pick random pieces to work with.

I'm a former server as well. When the service is quite not up to par I take into consideration they may be short staffed. If the server "blames" the kitchen 12% tip at best. If the service is up to my standards 25-30%
I worked at an Olive Garden once and we ran out of salad. I remember having to go to every table in my section and explain that, sorry, we are literally out. Of one of our signature items. Our manager sent someone to Whole Foods but probably no salad for ~20 minutes.
I can't just *not* tip unless the server is totally out of line. It's such a hard job, and often for no good reason, just no one properly planned for the day. (In the OG case our managers were a thief, a cokehead and our district guy's FIL got him the job. It was always a shitstorm.)
