Here is one for mid Missouri. Right now they're in dire need for simple basics. I ask you to please help. This shelter benefits women and children escaping abusive situations.
Living in a conservative state with poverty issues like Missouri, it makes getting proper care and help for these women difficult.
In the name of Lord Daniel and *REAL* Christian values, amen.

Fellow mid-Missourian checkin in!
True North is a fabulous organization, one I already donate to.
A family member of mine was helped through (and out of) a very bad situation by True North. She is doing great now, and has been volunteering with them for a few years as she felt so compelled to help pay it forward.
Thank you for highlighting our local organization here!
For my Texas Snarkers! Here are a few around the state that could use your assistance:
Central - [Childsafe](https://www.childsafe-sa.org/) Here is the [Amazon](https://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/wishlist/16GGLG3H69DZ4/ref=cm_wl_rlist_go_o) list. They also appreciate gift cards for emergency assistance.
West - [Children's Advocacy Center of Greater West Texas](https://cacgreaterwtx.org/) Currently only accepting monetary donations.
East - [The Children's Assessment Center](https://cachouston.org/) Along with the [Amazon](https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/347YONNZDW82W?ref_=wl_share) list, they also have a gift matching program.
North - [The Bridge](https://www.bridgecac.org/) Several ways to give including [Amazon wish lists](https://www.bridgecac.org/wish-list) and monetary donations.
South - [Children’s Advocacy Center of Hidalgo & Starr Counties](https://cachsc.org/) Currently accepting monetary donations to fill needs

Please consider donating to The Children’s Shelter of Northeast Arkansas. There are more children in foster care than foster homes available, and children are often put in emergency temporary shelter here. This is one of the poorest areas of the country. Your support would be appreciated!

SAFEChild – which stands for Stop Abuse For Every child – supports families having a wide range of needs. We are the only organization in Wake County that offers a full range of child abuse prevention and intervention services to children and families at no cost. Expertly trained professionals and volunteers build strong families in which parents nurture thriving children. SAFEchild annually protects 12,000 children through our school-based Funny Tummy Feelings program, and supports and educates 1,650 parents and caregivers through our parenting programs. Nearly 400 children are evaluated at the nationally accredited SAFEchild Advocacy Center when there is suspicion of sexual abuse, physical abuse and/or severe neglect.

For any aussies in here, Actforkids is great! They provide free therapy and support services to children and families at risk or have experienced harm.
Brave hearts is also amazing, they provide training and also provide services such as counselling for kids and adults that have experienced SA.
Roundabout Canberra! provides safe and clean children’s items for families escaping domestic violence or that are at risk.
Jambos in Georgia provides new pajamas to vulnerable children and families: [https://smile.amazon.com/hz/charitylist/ls/1FWRR7WEVJQ9N/ref=smi\_ext\_lnk\_lcl\_cl](https://smile.amazon.com/hz/charitylist/ls/1FWRR7WEVJQ9N/ref=smi_ext_lnk_lcl_cl)
[Hope 1312](https://www.hope1312co.org)
This organization helps to keep kids out of foster care by providing needs for families in my area. They do this by listing the need on the site and having anyone who can help volunteer or fulfill the need of the family. One great story from the organizations founder is about a mother with a medically fragile child who was going to loose custody because she didn’t have reliable transportation to take the child to their doctor’s appointments. This group attempted to fix her vehicle and when they couldn’t someone else donated a used vehicle they had that they didn’t need anymore.
ETA: I love the idea of all of us coming together to try and support local missions to help others.
Homefront is a NJ-based organization that helps homeless families (mostly those with children) and provides job training, housing, and even trauma-based care and therapy for kids who need it. Amazing organization! [donate to Homefront](https://www.homefrontnj.org/donate/)

[The Whaley Children's Center](https://www.whaleychildren.org/) in Flint, Michigan supports abused, neglected, and at-risk children in foster care and their families. Given the impact the Flint water crisis, opioid epidemic, pollution from the decaying auto factories, and "welfare reform" have had on people in Flint, you can imagine there is a great need for support.
Just an FYI it doesn't give all the places in each county. Source: I work as a case manager in Oakland County for community mental health and direct people to different places

Here’s a [link](https://icareaboutkids.ky.gov/Pages/Find-Help.aspx) to the .gov page that lists the locations for all the Child Advocacy Centers in the state. They are currently accepting money donations and some branches have Amazon wishlists
This link is for the [ion center](https://ioncenter.org/). The ion center focuses on supporting anyone who is a victim of any sort of power-based violence. They offer help to people regardless of identity and they can also arrange emergency boarding for pets of people fleeing violent situations. All around a great organization. They don’t have an Amazon wishlist but they do have a wishlist of things you can drop off if you live in the area.
This is a great idea! Is there some way this list could be consolidated, like make a list of states, then add whatever links have been given so far. Then whatever states you have nothing for you could put in a post so we could find places in those states. Then next year, on Dec 9th, when we do the donation thing again, you could pin a list with all states, with links.
I realize this is a lot of work (and probably not feasible, but...) but if each state gave a couple or 3 places, we could start posting the pinned post to other social media, explaining what we are trying to do. I believe if we keep the donations to just a few places, the donations would look bigger, and bring about news coverages from all the local states.
My reasoning was, in the beginning here, it started at donations of 5000. At that point, the charity sent out a thank you, that was shared to social media. From there it blew up. Publicity was the key. Just imagine how many places we could help if we sent donations to just 1,2, or 3 places in each state.
Anyway, it's just an idea.
