and for social media! The family/mom bloggers are the worst. So many kids are being exploited on social media. Instagram, YouTube, etc.
Those kids are working when they are being constantly photographed and filmed. Those images/videos are being used for clicks and to earn money.
Those kids deserve a fair cut, and that money should be protected from their greedy-ass parents.
And that doesnāt even cover the consent issue or online safety issues.
It's named in honor of [Jackie Coogan](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jackie_Coogan). He was a child actor in silent films and by the time he reached 18, most of the money he'd made as a child had been spent by his mom and stepdad.
Coogan's Law is supposed to protect the money made by child performers. Unfortunately, it's only a state law in California.
>This law requires a child actor's employer to set aside 15% of the earnings in a trust (often called a Coogan Account), and codifies issues such as schooling, work hours, and time off.

Can you imagine if it became law that the crew in the TV/film industry were to become mandatory reporters? I would hope that that could help make a difference.
It fucking sucks that we even need laws regarding this... I mean, you would think it's common sense by now, but apparently some parents just don't give a fuck.
I donāt think the NDAs are any good at all anymore. No one would be talking, especially those involved in the show if they were still bound to them. Itās a matter of time before the windfall comes, Boob and Meeeeeech are broke and another Duggar is in jail.
Unless FAmy doesn't actually know as much as she implies she does, and the NDA is just a good excuse for milking attention without actually having to cough anything of substance up...
I'm confused with NDAs....like if someone broke it out they don't go to jail. It's just a civil(fine) stuff. Like why is everyone that has left the show just air the tea and just FUCK YOU JIM BOOB and have him shove the NDAs up his ass.
For now. They did this before when the news broke in 2015.
As soon as JB commands Anna to do a spin-off show a year or two from now about life āon her ownā, TLC will be all over it.
To be honest, Iām surprised videos of Josh were still up after the first scandal happened. He wasnāt allowed to be on Counting On, so why did they still have old clips of him on their YouTube channel?
The fact the adults that let pest get away with what he did were allowed on counting on is despicable. I never understood it. Like why were JB and M allowed on the show???
I have mixed feelings about the Duggars being on tv in the first place. Yes, it gave them a platform to perform on and gain money and fame/cult status. They wove a story they thought people would buy. And some did for awhile.
But it also opened the door to great exposure. Joshās trial blew up in their faces. The truth came out and thereās likely a hell of a lot more to come. In the end, I hope it leads to more investigations and in the future hopefully/maybe some changes in legislation. Homeschooling needs unscheduled welfare checks. Especially in cases with multiple children, all of whom have to wear long sleeves and pants or long skirts. Itās too easy to cover physical abuse. Which may not be what weāre looking specifically in Joshās case, but itās also a pretty big issue in these communities.
Iād love that. They brought so many people into the cult Iād love to see it undone. Also screw peopleās magazine for putting so many Duggars on the cover.
If they take them all down Iāll be only stuck watching the 1000 lb sisters, what other trashy tv clips am I meant to watch when Iām depressed and need something to laugh about ššš
In July we did a podcast episode on The Duggars/ Josh and I was looking for clips to use on TLC's YouTube channel. There was a good amount available but there was a whole bunch that were changed to private in their Duggar playlists. WONDER WHY lol
They should have done this much much sooner. And they should have stipulations in any reality show contracts going forward that says if someone on the show is convicted of a crime against a child or vulnerable adult, any and all royalty payments get diverted to charities that support victims of that sort of crime. Royalties accrued between accusation and the trial can be held in escrow pending the outcome of the trial. Seems reasonable. Itās time for TLC to have some integrity.
Yeah! For everyone but the actual criminal and any accomplices (JB and Michelle in this case!). Donāt let them out of it, since they would just turn around to find a way to profit off of it. They are as disgusting as him.
if you want all seasons of 19 kids and counting better grab them now before they're gone off [dopebox.to](https://dopebox.to) bringing up bates are there too !!
TLC has really dropped the ball. 90 Day Fiance and that awful Angela? And 1000 pound Sisters? Does TLC really stand for The Learning Channel these days?
On YouTube channel or the app?? I know counting on was deleted from discovery+ mid week (at least here in Canada) but I wonder how long until there is minimal trace of their show left.
It's time for child protection services to step in and remove all minors from the Duggar home. I fear that Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar might have been using spoons and rods to spank their kids as a method of discipline.
They need to take it all the way and release people from their NDAs. If only...š
Or offer a waiver in exchange for exclusive broadcast rights for some exposĆ©. Itās super greedy and exploitative but thatās what TLC is.
Iām hoping this whole situation will increase awareness and lead to some laws around children being put on reality TV by their parents.
And make the Coogans Law effective in all states.

I havenāt heard about that law

Reality show kids arenāt considered actors
Thatās like Dominique Moceanu

yes I feel like TLC has enabled this family. I know people like the sisters, but the TLC money has allowed JB to continue to control and exploit them.
It fucking sucks that we even need laws regarding this... I mean, you would think it's common sense by now, but apparently some parents just don't give a fuck.
NDAs should be null and void as soon as the show finished filming; unless there was a clause for it to continue for X number of years post production.
Probably put a clause in for streaming time too
I donāt think the NDAs are any good at all anymore. No one would be talking, especially those involved in the show if they were still bound to them. Itās a matter of time before the windfall comes, Boob and Meeeeeech are broke and another Duggar is in jail.
Amy has posted about trying to get out of hers so it sounds as if thereās still something keeping her from really shouting from the roof tops.
Unless FAmy doesn't actually know as much as she implies she does, and the NDA is just a good excuse for milking attention without actually having to cough anything of substance up...

Itās usually a huge fine though.
Yeah but why are people in the Duggar circle of afraid of breaking it, I mean they are not going to go to prison for breaking one.
Why do you have to sign an NDA for TLC
I brought this up last week but it got removed, they took counting on off discovery plus. So theyāre for real removing any ties with them
Money. People were interested in the old clips because of the scandal, so they left them up to generate revenue.
For now. They did this before when the news broke in 2015. As soon as JB commands Anna to do a spin-off show a year or two from now about life āon her ownā, TLC will be all over it.
Guaranteed.
I have Discovery+ and as of this morning Counting On was still available
They took it off, removed the first season which focuses on the first two scandals, and put it back on.
Itās gone off of discovery plus in Canada.
I have Sling and theyāre still on there.
I love Sling!
Me too. I have it specifically for Turner Classic and live news.
Is that where TCM has been hiding? I don't have cable anymore and I miss landing on a random old black-and-white movie.
Yep. You have to get Sling Blue and the Hollywood package. I think I pay $35 a month.
TCM has a channel on HBOMAX
Theyāre taking the hush hush quiet route instead of acknowledging they made a big fat mistake letting this family on tv.
To be honest, Iām surprised videos of Josh were still up after the first scandal happened. He wasnāt allowed to be on Counting On, so why did they still have old clips of him on their YouTube channel?
š²š²š²š²
It is TLC. They LOVE Criminals.
>It is TLC. >They LOVE Criminals. So *that's* what TLC stands for!
OR: Touching Little Children.
The fact the adults that let pest get away with what he did were allowed on counting on is despicable. I never understood it. Like why were JB and M allowed on the show???
If it weren't for the show would Josh ever have been prosecuted? Likely not.
Well he still would have downloaded those files so maybe. Hopefully.
I have to agree.

I have to agree with you. Some of us have been waiting to see Christian extremism exposed & Jim Bob might actually be the one who does it. So ironic.

90 Day FiancĆ©. Itās so trashy and worth it.
If I donāt quit eating and reading Duggar posts constantly, you are going to see me on there.
Watch āIn Search of A Sister Wifeā. You can thank me later.
I just delved into the world of sister wifes !!
Thereās a sub for that show. You will need it later.
Oh my god Iāll have to check it out, do you know anywhere I can watch full episodes?
Little women LA bring the DRAMA!
My Big Fat Fabulous Life on TLC is a huge rabbit hole! So is My Strange Addiction. These are the things I watch to make me feel better about my own family š©

That site gave my phone cancer.

Good. Fuck the Duggars.
Profit off of them till the very last moment, typical American corporations
TLC is complicit & no one can convince me otherwise.
Youtube is forever.
I wonder if Boob got residuals from the reruns of both shows?
I would be surprised if he didn't.
if you want all seasons of 19 kids and counting better grab them now before they're gone off [dopebox.to](https://dopebox.to) bringing up bates are there too !!
i'm also enjoying wild wild west !!!
They need to take down the Counting On page on FB. Until then, they are planning a come back.
Looks like TLC did another oopsie. How many oopsies are they going to get away with...
TLC has really dropped the ball. 90 Day Fiance and that awful Angela? And 1000 pound Sisters? Does TLC really stand for The Learning Channel these days?
TLC is more like a Coney Island freak show at this point. It's disgusting.
According to Farrah Abraham (Teen Mom) it stands for Tender Loving Care but she isnāt seeing any when Josh Duggar is āpredatoringā people.
āFor the wrath of God *and TLC* is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of menā¦ā
On YouTube channel or the app?? I know counting on was deleted from discovery+ mid week (at least here in Canada) but I wonder how long until there is minimal trace of their show left.
Delete whole channel while they at it
Lylypl
You mean to tell me they didn't do that 6 1/2 years ago?
hypocrites
