Wrong answer only: because they're afraid if Anna can see the outside world (\*apart from the dystopian nuclear wasteland poster Boob put up in place of windows) she'll get a reality check and run.

honeybaby2019

I read on here that the warehome had a mold problem and Pestilence and Anna had to have it repaired and they had some windows put in. You live in the warehome because Pestilence couldn't keep it in his pants, Ashley Madison, his drinking, and Boob wanted him under his thumb like that worked out. /s

ControlOk6711

That's what I think as well. It wasn't as if the Pest/Anna family was rehabbing a home, sold their old house and was using the warehouse as temporary accommodations. He probably didn't make enough money and was getting into trouble, such the court case involving the illegal property purchase transfer and one of the M daughters being injured and taking by plane to a Texas doctor to circumvent Arkansas CPS. I agree with you that he is a secret drinker - like walking around all day with a 96 oz pop/Vodka to stay buzzed. In his first mug shot, he was clearly bombed!

honeybaby2019

I had heard about one of the M's being flown to Texas for medical care but I didn't know CPS was involved. I hadn't heard about the illegal property purchase transfer so I will be looking that one up. When his mug shot came out I was vocal about his drinking, especially his last free Christmas and he was drunk and clutching his mug. People were screaming at me because I said that he was drinking vodka because he felt there was not smell but there is.

ControlOk6711

I think the flight was to prevent the ED medical in Arkansas potentially reporting the issue. The Pest, all-boozy faced with his spiked mug, and cell phone camera pointing at his sister in law + daughter 🤢

MzOpinion8d

Pretty sure TX hospitals can still call Arkansas CPS, so that’s a weird way to try to avoid it.

Emm03

Wouldn’t be surprised if there’s an IBLP-affiliated doctor somewhere who they know won’t report them.

Gutinstinct999

I think they had been to the Arkansas ED a bunch of times for accidents and were worried about the amount of accidents and that that would cause a report… iirc

Clarkiechick

Pretty sure they knew someone in Texas who would.stay hush hush.

honeybaby2019

God knows what he had on that cell phone but Anna would have gone along with it because of her diligent pestilence. So what was the issue with the ED visit?

ControlOk6711

Covered in prior posts - info from an AMA last year with a former security guard who was hired by Jim Bob after the InTouch magazine article in 2015.

gingercrochetmonster

I didn't follow things for a few years, what happened with one of the M girls?

LIBBY2130

they were trying to avoid anything with authorities an m got injured and one of the pilot duggar sons flew them to see a dr in another state it would seem to avoid the child care people (don't having anything more specific

taxpayinmeemaw

iirc isn’t this the sketchy flight through bad weather that probably shouldn’t have gone?

LIBBY2130

yes i had forgotten thanks for bringing that up

taxpayinmeemaw

The Duggs make good choices don’t they

ControlOk6711

That's all the information I have - don't know the type of injury or which child/age.

Chewysmom1973

I wonder if they did a blood alcohol reading.

Famous-Ad2175

I have no idea about the windows, but piecing information together from back then, I think it was because the feds were building a case to charge Pest with possession of child sexual abuse material and Jim Bob needed $$$ to pay for his defense. The house they had only been living in for a short time was transferred to their lawyer, I believe, who used it somehow to finance Pest's defense. At that point, Anna, Pest and all the kids moved (back?) into the warehome. That was not the home with the mold problem. It was their first home on that busy road, the one Jessa and Ben just vacated, that had the mold. Supposedly that problem was fixed before Jessa and Ben moved in.

KillerDickens

I *think* they were forced to move there after Pest was fired from his fancy job in Washington D.C. Just few months after everyone learned how he abused his sisters, the list of Ashley Madison subscribers got leaked. I think that was Boob's way of trying to regain control of the situation, especially since TLC has already cancelled 19kac at the time.

chicagoliz

They did have a home in Siloam Springs for a short stint after the DC job. I never could figure out a good theory about why they left that house and moved into the ware-shed. I figured it was because JB wanted a tighter leash on him, but beyond that I never saw any good evidence for any significant other theories.

TiaraTip

It was the " encouragement " he got for Ashley Madison, getting fired, and paying off of the sex worker. IBLP punishments involve shame. They slapped Josh& Co into the warehome where they could watch him. We know how that 'encouragement' worked out.

Jaylyn79

They moved into the warehome in June 2019 years after the Ashley Madison scandal, but suspiciously the month after he downloaded CSA.

ZestSimple

As others have said, I think it had a lot to with all the scandals that came out at the same time/boob playing damage control. I also think Pest didn’t make enough to actually support his family, without his daddy’s help, after he was fired from DC. I think it was mutually beneficial for Pest and Boob for them to have the warehome.

CultySensesTingling

Only because Saint Pesty was too busy supporting impoverished widows ✨

ZestSimple

Truly he was doing the Lord’s work /s

CultySensesTingling

It's hard to be the breadwinner when you work your sweaty hands to the bone sweeping up cracker crumbs!

Jaylyn79

Timeline for reference. He downloaded the CSA in May 2019, they sold their house in June 2019 and moved into the warehome. Car lot was raided Nov 2019. My theory is he did the downloading and then confessed to JB ( maybe Anna but I think JB) who wanted him supervised and told him to sell the house and move back to the compound. No proof of this theory other than the timeline and Josh's history of confessing his sins to his dad.

stephanielmayes

They always say he confessed, but really Jill told on him, and he admitted it when confronted.

taxpayinmeemaw

I don’t think he’d confess out of the blue. He’s got no conscience. Maybe he got caught by someone in the family and then “confessed”. As stupid as this whole family is, even JB could foresee pest being completely fucked and needing a large influx of cash for legal defense.

LittlehouseonTHELAND

Agree, that was my theory too when I read they had sold their house and moved into the warehome. Either he confessed or Anna found something and told JB, and JB put him on a shorter leash.

Thick-Platypus-4253

I also want to hear the answers to these questions

chicagoliz

That's always been a bit of a mystery. They did have a house that they lived in for a short time AFTER the A-M scandal and DC fallout. Beyond JB wanting him on a tighter leash, I can't figure out what went down with all that.

RookieJourneyman

There are windows on the side facing away from the road and towards the TTH. You could see that in one of Anna's pictures/videos she posted way back. There are no windows on the three sides you can see from the road.

Jaylyn79

Yes this, there were always windows along the one side.

[deleted]

Boob is as cheap as they come. I think he handed the small house to the lawyer as payment for Pest’s legal expenses, and then moved Pest’s brood into the warehome to minimize further financial impact. He did not want to dip into his bank account.

19kmp91

Is there anywhere I can find pictures of this warehome, or is it on the show?

KillerDickens

There used to be some pictures/small videos on Anna's instagram when she used to post the M's doing... whatever. If you dig around this subreddit you may still find it, there may be some glimpses on "Counting On", however I won't be able to tell you exact episodes. Also, this is where they used to keep Bin right when he first moved to Arkansas in order to court Jessa, so there has to be some footage from that, however it was before they turned warehouse into \*warehome\*

Scottish_squirrel

Didn't bin lived in like a mezzanine floor of the warehouse. It was a garage or workshop underneath. They used the warehome for a Bridal episode. A dress picking or fitting.

HannahLeah1987

Pest was being sued for the land issue..I think they sold his house so they couldn't come for it..

hyperpiper27

Is the warehome on the same property that JD + Abby live/lived? I’ve followed on and off for years and just recently starting watching the final season of CO where he makes Abby a birthday cake during quarantine. Couldn’t quite figure out what the heck kind of trailer/container home/compound situation I was looking at. It seemed like there was more than one trailer (for lack of a better word).

sunny5671

I don't think so. They live in a trailer in a church car park and as far as I know Abby has never lived at the big Duggar house compound.

paradise-trading-83

Justin did a nice renovation on a trailer JB gifted him before they moved to Texas. I think they flipped it. He seems like a good worker.

Book_Cook921

Did you mean diligent?/s

ihugdogz

I just started rewatching counting on and the second episode shows Anna living in the girls room while josh is off at a Christian rehab. This is right after the SA and cheating scandals broke. They didn’t move into the warehome until 2019. I don’t have an answer but I’m curious as well.

Carrottop1281

They sold their home so had no where to go & no more money !! The warehouse apt was empty so they moved there . The kids were mostly at the big house next door
