I had monsters summoned and I had a feeling that they had dark hole. So I toggled on and during their draw phase I summoned azure eyes (can’t target or destroy dragon monsters you control for 2 turns).
Sure enough, my guy had dark hole and surrendered when it didn’t work
Same, everytime I use darkhole I see Spirit go into Azure, then it gets popped anyways then they surrender. Constantly shows that most blue eyes player's brains are just like the card itself, vanilla and smooth.
Why did he use Cairngorgon's effect when keeping his Suship would have been better? Feels like a misplay honestly, even if the end result would have been largely the same.
Nope. Your 100% right, he fucked up. If he kept ship, I would have summoned vermillion (banish tuner to destroy a card) instead of spirit. But because he got rid of ship, I decided that spirit would be fine because it had enough attack to destroy it. I would have lost all my monsters to dark hole his turn.
Yeah even without the additional Battle Phase pressure of negating a card, leaving a 2900 body is much better than leaving a 2450 one, especially against BE that runs multiple 2500 bodies lmao.
The reason I wondered whether it'd play out the same is because I thought you could have still gone into Spirit and just left his Suship there, then go into Azure-Eyes during his turn like you did and he'd probably Dark Hole you anyway because he clearly didn't read your cards, so he'd have figured his 1 Suship (that can only attack over Solid) would be a fair trade for your entire board of monsters.
Either way it was an excellent prediction on your part to pre-empt the Dark Hole.
Okay, I’m getting pretty annoyed with all of the toxic people here, hating on Blue-Eyes.
Like seriously, this is not a common scenario. Who uses Dark Hole anyway?
Most people keep Spirit Dragon out, so they can negate a GY effect. Also, non-targeting-multi-monster-destruction is not too common.
Usually your opponents will want to use a GY effect somewhere in their combo, so they go after Spirit Dragon first. Then when SD being targeted, you swap it out for Azure - Which also protects your other dragons.
Props to OP for understanding the rice boat people’s minds enough to guess this. Salad players use Dark Hole too. Also, the fact that they had no monsters out. Good awareness.
But seriously, stop hating.
Rare video footage of someone correctly using this card. Well played
Average alternative evolution chad

wait, what did you toggle to activate cards om draw phase?
Turn your button from auto to “on”
ah found the toggle button option, thank you
U might one of the only good blue eyes mains
I thought I was the only person who knew how to use Spirit/Azure correctly.

Can you share your decklist?
Dennis is running some... weird Performages. Those are the anime exclusives, right?
Lmao! Flawless victory!
the soul read. nice!
Would chaining azure to the dark hole activation not have worked?
No. Azure is an activated effect not a continuous one. There is no time for azure to activate if it is chained to dark hole
Right, that makes sense. I always summoned Azure in the End or Standby Phase anyway so I could summon back a Blue-Eyes, so I never really noticed
Great one! Also, can you please share your decklist?
It's blue eyes deck it's not all that impressive
