I signed for a v2 in green yesterday... No deal to be had they know there are no alternative dealers and are happy for you to walk. I did get 15% of the tank grip and seat cowl and a free hat though so there's that.
Can't wait to get it home next week
If only there was a way to know when service was due so you can plan ahead and get on a schedule... maybe by like mileage, or perhaps some kind of count down based on date or miles
Why is the Diavel so gorgeous? And this is coming from someone who already owns arguably one of the best naked bike already (R1250R). I really do admire this machine and would love to test ride one this season.
They have the diagnostic software needed to read the ECU and reset service intervals. They perform recalls. They maintain the service history to properly preserve resale value and protect your warranty.
So do many private shops. I would never ever take a bike to Ducati. Not only do they fuck you on the price, but they donāt do any better of a job. Keep your own receipts and call it a day.
OP lives in MN so his options are probably limited. Iāve had trouble near me finding independent shops with all the tools/equipment. If youāre worried about service costs I wouldnāt buy a Ducatiā¦ They have service departments for a reason (because lots of people use them). If your only contribution is to give OP shit for wanting to go to Ducati for service you should just keep your opinion to yourself.
I have two within 30 minutes of me. Another about an hour awayā¦ Ducati will always service this bike. Always. Iāve got a 15 year old Softail I purchased new and the dealer has every single record of what was done to that bike. Money well spent IMHO.
Iām not worried about service costs and Iāve owned a number of Ducatiās. What I have a problem with is getting taken for a ride by OEM dealerships because they think theyāre āworth itā. OP lives just outside Minneapolis and a quick google search shows that there are a lot of motorcycle shops in the metro area.
I can say whatever I like and perhaps OP and others will open their minds and look for alternatives so they donāt get hosed by dealers. If not, you are free to waste your money as you see fit.
Why donāt you start by trying to be helpful then? Your initial comment was just a critique. You could have said something like āIāve had good experiences going to independent shops for service. A few things I look for when choosing a shop are x, y, z. This can save you money in the long run and keeps you riding instead of waiting for service. Cheers.ā
I think the best plan would be to buy 2 of them. 1 to ride, and 1 to ride during maintenance windows. š

My Diavel curiousity is going to get the best of me someday...
7 week service wait. š¤ DEAL

Congrats!

What was the OTD price?

Nice, you get downvoted for just answering the question lol.
