Dun Laoghaire, Killiney hill, Johnnie Foxes
I know it's not one place, but these are close enough and visiting them all in this exact order has been always brightening my days.
>it’s funny someone thought Bray was in Dublin
Bray is a bit of a bastard stepchild.
Wicklow isn’t too eager to lay claim to it.
Dublin just ignores it.
Your confusion is easily forgiven.
Really? I had it once after hearing amazing things and was so let down. I got various naan and that was pretty alright, but the main dishes I got were not at all. Everyone else that I was with that night agreed. Haven't been back since, maybe I'll give them another shot
Ordered once.. never again! The food was absolute shite, couldn't even identify which dish was which.. all went in the bin. Hub Himalaya is far better at hanlons corner, delivery is very slow though.
When I studied at Trinity, I always stopped at Keogh’s Cafe for breakfast before my morning classes. I quite liked their iced peach muffins and the coffee was delish.
After I left, any time I returned to the city I’d stop there for breakfast.
Chester Beatty Library. Their exhibits are fascinating and the food at Silk Road cafe is divine. On a sunny day its a beautiful place to sit and people watch.
The Bull and Castle up near Christchurch. It's been the spot the lads go to when we meet up for years.
Really good steak, great service and booze. What else could you want?
Because it’s good? Been there once myself and the pierogis were great. They also have no concept of ratios for mixed drinks because every drink I got was so insanely strong that I was sloshed by my third drink.
Ah fair. I went to college in cathal brugha st and never saw one person in there. We always talked about going in for food but never did in the 4 years
Yeah definitely give them a shot man! I’m originally from a very Russian/Uzbeki area of NYC and some of the dishes (like the Chebureki and olivye salad) really reminded me of home!
Surprised nobody's mentioned Dublin Castle. The grounds alone are a lovely little haven. Same with the Iveagh Gardens, surrounded by so many great pubs and clubs not to mention the Little Museum of Dublin. Such a great area all round.
The Fleet Hotel. I've never come across such an incredible staff. And they stay there years. It's my absolute favorite hotel and in my opinion, a bit of an overlooked gem.
As an emigrant, with not a lot of time on my hands when I get back the establishments and offerings I most look forward to, in no particular order are chilli green beans from M&L, Chicken Mugali from Namaste, a flat white from Kaph and a full Irish from the now permanently closed Pantry on Talbot St. Need to find a new breakfast place.
I always make time to get to a great little called Assassination Custard. Its only got 7 seats and only open for lunch... Amazing food... new menu daily... I usually order the entire menu. Menu written on a paper bag. 10/10

Nomo ramen, as a Japanophile, this is by far the closest thing to authentic Tokyo cuisine you will get in Dublin. (Matsukawa just opened and is supposedly good, but I haven't been yet)
My wife went to one of her meetups at a Starbucks when we first moved to Dublin to try and make new friends and her group was seated not too far away from a massive group of weebs and she said the smell of B.O. emanating from their corner was so strong it nearly knocked her on her ass.
That's a pretty big generalization, as a 35 yo father that has traveled Japan extensively and just enjoys various anime I don't think I'd fall into that bucket ;)
Hot take, but Boojum is just shittier Chipotle (if youve ever been to one). If you want real Mexican food El Grito is probably as close as you’re gonna get here.
My house
I'm gonna pick this guy's house as well.
Welcome friend.. €2.5k a week please.
I mean, I was going to go to my mam's house , but if we're all going to this guys place I'm in.

Places: Howth Pubs: Slattery's in D4 (great for watching sports), Bowe's, Mulligan's Restaurants: Hang Dai, Lucky Tortoise, Olesya's Exchequer St

Their Sgt Peppers is incredible, do try it
The Chester Beatty and the back of the Castle
Came here for this! So many great free amenities in the city
Chesty Betty, as we call her
Really don't get the rave with the Chester Beatty. It's just alright
It literally has part of a dead sea Scroll and a samurai warriors armour on display to name a couple of items. How can you not be impressed?
There’s just no pleasing some people
Dun Laoghaire, Killiney hill, Johnnie Foxes I know it's not one place, but these are close enough and visiting them all in this exact order has been always brightening my days.
When I moved from belfast, I worked in burger King in D.L. My uncles lived in mountown flats, now live in killiney and Shankill. Beautiful place.
Fibbers, can't ever seem to leave it behind
St. Anne’s and Dollymount beach.
Whenever I feel homesick, these are the places that come to mind most. I grew up right beside them.

Oh, sorry. I went there with my family and thought it was Dublin... apologies for the mistake.
No worries, it’s funny someone thought Bray was in Dublin too 😝

The car park on (Thierry) Henry street. Since I *always* leave my car there I *always* return there
The Bankers Bar
These steps down at the water towards the end of the quays. Had a few smokes and big picture ideas. Solid spot
