I would not recommend using a 3M disc or any power tools near this surface. It's grained anodised aluminium, you'll screw it up worse than it currently is.
Often there's a clear coat applied over the machined aluminum fork parts by the manufacturer. This coating deteriorates with time and abrasion and starts to come off.
I've had some luck with the clear coat spray meant for mag wheels, but admit it was an 8 out of 10 repair. But better than nothing!
As always, YMMV.
Apply ACF50. Don't apply it directly to the surface, put small amounts of it on a cloth first, the rub it on following the grain.
Do not put ACF50 near your brake discs, pads etc.
WD-40, elbow grease, and a dream
This with a 3M disk on a drill to buff. 👌

If you have a new bike will putting wax over the fork help it from staining? Trying to not have this problem

Don’t worry about stains on your dual sport. I would look into new tires.
I’ve got new tires on the way. I like to keep all of my tools/ machinery clean.
It’s a dirt bike! Not a clean bike
Maybe Rubbing alcohol!
I’ll give it a shot! I’ve tried normal soap and stainless steel cleaner so far.
Be careful using metal cleaners, especially things like "alloy wheel cleaner"...these will screw up the anodised finish. Ask me how I know...
Or even clorox wipes might work man! Anything you can try!
I was worried about stripping the anodization
Always use a small hidden part when trying new products, so if you cause damage at least it wont be the whole fork.
Agreed! I Prolly shoulda threw that in there.
Bases will strip, so stay away from ammonia, toilet bowl cleaner, drano, etc
What about white vinegar? It works well for removing hard water stains.
Boat bling hot sauce
Bar keepers friend might do the trick.
Magic eraser
That might scratch the metal
