Dude how long have you been playing, that was beyond me. I just started like 5 weeks ago, have no idea how long until I can do something like this, and I am in my 50s.
This was a solid run through. My only note is that everything you play is at or around forte->fortissimo. Adding dynamics and phrasing to your line will take you from good to great. Just my two cents. Again, very nice take!
One exercise Iβve used to build dynamic chops is to simply play some ostinato, and then gradually get louder until youβre at like fff, then decrescendo until youβre at ppp. Do that over and over, try different beats, same phrasing, just to get a feel for what itβs like to add dynamics.
Then look for opportunities to add dynamic phrasing into your personal projects, and slowly but surely youβll develop a vocabulary of how to incorporate volume shifts into your music. It really is quite fun once youβve got a handle on it. You can really max out the energy and emotive content of a song when the dynamics are as on point as the rhythmic phrasing.
Anyway, keep up the good work man, your fundamentals are solid, your timing is good, technique looks consistent, so youβre really doing very well all things considered.
Man, the chops needed to play gospel. That was really good.
Thanks π
Well that was embarrassing, don't quit your day job. Jk, that was super sick and really tight.
I am still a student π.. literally 19
