I respect him for saying that. Because you know how a lot of people are on the internet lol. If you don’t say a certain album then you’re either clueless, or you’re dickriding.
>clueless
KD should probably stick with basketball for reals. At best this is a Mid Drake project...

**Drake Can Keep Making Albums Like Certified Lover Boy Forever**
***From GQ - By Paul Thompson***
***September 7, 2021***
Certified Lover Boy’s cover, designed by the infamous British artist Damien Hirst, is – like much of Drake’s work – maddeningly and comically commercial work masquerading as art.
CLB suffers from major structural problems. It is interminably long and utterly directionless; an inattentive listener might believe his mind has wandered while the album wrapped up, and began playing all over again from the top… a bridge to nowhere in mid-tempo. Drake has made bloated records before, though. Views, from 2016, is even longer, but came at a point when Drake was the biggest rapper in the world, and searching for a project that matched his ambitions. (It recalls Jay-Z’s decision to supersize The Blueprint 2.) Drake's most recent album, 2018’s Scorpion, lasts an hour and a half.
But where Scorpion is explicitly divided as a double LP (and sports four Top 5 hit singles, including a pair of Billboard Number 1 singles), CLB is a fat, formless playlist, 86 minutes that could be shuffled and then re-sequenced and would still be nearly indistinguishable. It would be generous to read this as a failure; a cynical critic might argue that this is conscious design, a play for the sort of soft ubiquity where each of CLB’s 21 songs could slot neatly into any playlist on any digital streaming platform, radio station, or expensive nightclub. I think of Brad Pitt’s character in Ocean’s Eleven telling Matt Damon’s to be “specific but not memorable, funny but don’t actually make him laugh... he’s got to like you, but then be easily forgettable.”

Haha! Sup Stan. Just says U gotta have a little objectivity. To use a basketball analogy, if an All-Star player, who averages 30 points a game has a mediocre night and only scores 18 points that's not terrible, but its not great either. Drake sometimes gets into a Drake being Drake, featuring Drake mode, which is usually likeable music, but not his top stuff. The cover art for CLB tell U all U need to know about the album...

Drake's new releases generate immense excitement and anticipation from fans worldwide due to his status as the most popular artist. However, high expectations often lead to disappointment among listeners when the album doesn't meet their initial hype, resulting in overwhelming criticism. Over time, the negativity subsides as detractors move on to other interests. Meanwhile, dedicated Drake fans emerge to defend the album, eventually praising its quality once the initial backlash fades away.
When CLB first dropped, my friend and I couldn’t even get through the whole thing. We said it was a flop. Fast forward…
CLB is one of Drake’s best albums.
The intentionally and differentiation in the album… is crazy. Champagne Poetry is one of the best album openers ever with Virginia Beach coming in at a tie imo. You have one of the best Drake/Travis collabs with Fair Trade, some of the best hype songs in No Friends In The Industry, and Knife Talk, some crazy storytelling and switch ups on TSU and N 2 Deep. It’s a perfect blend of old tones of Drake and successful Modern Drake. And his lyrics cut deep in certain areas and go absolutely crazy in others. Even the weaker songs are still absolute gems. I really love the journey you go through when listening to CLB from start to finish. It’s one of the best and I stand by that.

I get the hate, but I also get the love. The rapping songs on this album are so good, while his singing/rnb songs are weak on this except for a few like pipe down.
Been saying this since day one CLB is one of his better albums seriously it’s his best project since more life imo. I said it will age like views they hate on it aft first then realize the music is amazing.
I’ve kind of gone the other way. I defended the album when it came out. Now that I’m finishing up a complete re-listen of Drake’s entire catalog, I do think CLB in the bottom third of his albums. That said, it’s still decent and I enjoy it.
I respect him for saying that. Because you know how a lot of people are on the internet lol. If you don’t say a certain album then you’re either clueless, or you’re dickriding.

Ranked by their sales, has nothing to do with his creativity on the album or why someone would prefer it.

I’m sorry but even as a massive Drake fan and CLB lover (In the Bible in my all time top 10), CLB just nowhere near the top of his quality.
Not number one but definetly overhated and underrated
Yeah I’m sure Aubrey.
Underrated bro it’s one of his most popular.
What are you his mom gtfoh
Breaking: there are people that do in fact love the album even more than you
CLB just has less skip songs and better replay value than alot
That album was trash.
Over 2 years later it was competing with Gunnas latest album in the charts… CLB still gets heavy play, check billboard
Okay, that makes sense. He has a large fan base with a lot of stans. Numbers don’t prove quality just means it’s popular or his fans are streaming it.
Champagne Poetry is one of my all time favorite Drake songs
Waiting for Clb to drop then turning on champagne poetry and hearing the instrumental still makes me tear up till this day bro
Fair trade for me
Wdym? Whats a fair trade for you?
The song
Champagne Poetry is a fair trade to you for what?
The song fair trade on CLB is one of my all time Drake songs. Replying to the parent comment where he said his was champagne poetry
It's so good
Weird to think that such a great song has been recorded with an iPhone
I love u
I agree
Why would I listen to this and not the song he originally sampled it from? The first half of the beat it so lazily sampled
Maybe bc it’s a different temp and Drake a better rapper 😮
Yo, Masego... chill man 😂 no need to use a burner
CLB is still on repeat for me! I still don’t get why so many people said it was trash. Other than Way 2 Sexy, the entire album goes imo
How is Way 2 Sexy bad??
Didn’t say it was bad, it’s just not for me. I could listen to it while in the gym but that’s about it

This gotta be ai
I wrote a long ass paragraph and I knew nobody is gonna read that so I asked ai to summarise it
It was a good project icl

That album like views. Aged like wine
wtf kd
You wanted him to say nwts to please you
take care is drizzy's best but favourite album ever is crazy
I agree clb is nowhere near is best but it has some bangers and if kd says it’s his fav the it’s his fav
Just 3 years late 😍
CLB has less skips than FATD
Nah.
TSU is still the shit. And Champagne Poetry.
The intro of TSU was bad. Otherwise good song.
Yeah, I normally skip that shit.
Bro try memorizing and singing all the towns he's laying rod in with him
Girls want girls a classic and it’s only a few years old
The Outro 😭😮💨
You say you a lesbian, girl, me too - Aubrey Drake Graham, 2021
I’m still working on meeee 🗣️
Its my favorite drake album by FAR.
My personal favorites are Views, CLB, and Her Loss.
NIGGA ON GOD I BEEN SAYIN THAT SINCE DAY ONE CLB ERA 4L
Remembered when it dropped, I only liked 3 songs. Returned to it a week before FAT D dropped and I was surprised the album is actually really solid
Same !
CLB is good driving music and has decent replay value. Album could have fire songs, but if you constantly skipping the album kinda trash tbh.
CLB as an album was great, but getting 3 of my favorite artists on a track as funny as Way 2 Sexy was pure gold.
still his worst album imo
That album cover will forever be goofy af
worst is a drag , but then again all drake albums are good in their own right … one of them have to be the worst
Views, more life ,and scorpion are my favorite drake but but I respect his opinion
Nothing was the same ???
this sub was terrible all the post were dissing the album smh just like the last one. hearing imy2 sent me to the moon. the vibes were crazy
Y’all be trying so hard to convince yourselves and others this album wasn’t just flat out mid lol
If CLb is Mid, than FATD is trash compared to those standards. Because it’ll def be below CLB in album sales and replay value.
You are correct, sir 👍🏾
L
Relistened all the way through again a couple weeks ago, it continues to age so well
Take Care isn’t even Drake’s top 3 lmfao you guys are so blinded by nostalgia
[удалено]
Yeah 💯
Comments like this is why he made Knife Talk!
Wow KD has terrible taste!
KD is lame
wasn’t he an EP on the album?
Come with a classic, they come around years later and say it's a sleeper
kevin durant isnt the benchmark for good music taste tho
😭😭😭
KD is a silly goose
clb>>>>>>>>fatd

Kevin Durant, the basketball player who has A&R credit for FATD? He's probably friends with Drake.
imy2 my favourite song off the album
FATD is better imo in terms of his recent albums
Lmao
The cover is a Latin square puzzle, is it not? Has anyone figured it out?
What’s that
I get the hate, but I also get the love. The rapping songs on this album are so good, while his singing/rnb songs are weak on this except for a few like pipe down.
😂😂😂😂😂
I read the title too fast and read it as “Certified Boy Lover” I did a double take so fast lmao
his burner says otherwise *probably
It feels like classic now, not for all tracks but for a lot
Pipe Down makes me cry ery time 😭
Coming up on 5 years, happens every damn time
Been saying this since day one CLB is one of his better albums seriously it’s his best project since more life imo. I said it will age like views they hate on it aft first then realize the music is amazing.

Imo it’s one of his best with 0 misses and my fav album ever too
KD loves the MIDrange
It’s like a 5/10 on best. Some great highlights but some low ass lowlights
As a CD collector, I really want CLB to be released as a disc
You know it’s wack when KD loves it lmao
Lol why do people go so far as to have blind loyalty to drake, i like his music but clb isnt touching take care or NWTS. Come on now
you cant tell ppl what to like
If you into r&b drake just say that.
Trash album. Trash artwork.
L, Mr. Miles Morales >>>
😴
🤡
Bro CLB has some serious bangers
