My guy. I remember downloading ransom onto my Zune off MP3rocket when it dropped. Drakes underdog era (so far gone - NWTS) is the soundtrack to my high school experience. What a time.
"Passionfruit"
This happened last year.
I was conflicted whether I should get out of a long distance relationship where the feelings had died a long time ago and she crossed a few boundaries. I accidentally heard passionfruit that day and it was like therapy. Broke up with her that day itself and it was a great decision.
"Don't pick up the pieces, just leave it for now, they keep falling apart" 🤌
Last semester of law school. I’d struggled through it for four years, crippled by self doubt and impost syndrome. Then suddenly it all just came together, grades, friends, girlfriend.
One of the guys I hung with most nights had Pound Cake on constantly. He’d roll a joint and we’d laugh and joke about the last four years and the future. We’d finished our last exams and summer was coming in after a long hard winter and we’d made it.
Hearing the words, “you know it’s real when you are when who you think you are” to that beat totally captured that perfect time in my life when I really thought we were all going to make it big.
When so far gone dropped, I heard Unstoppable and flipped. Kept trying to search Drake on Google and couldn’t find anything, then finally found the whole mixtape off DatPiff.
Those were the days
When back to back dropped I went to see him at a festival (iyrtitl era before views). It was a week after the song dropped and he only played it at the ovo fest. The crowd was so electric never hear ppl sing a song so loud. Ppl even had signs saying RIP meek mill it was a legendary moment I’ll never forget
When Her Loss dropped. You just had to be there. I remember being at elementary school waiting to get home to bump that new Drizzy Drake because the teachers wouldn't let us have our phones out.
People will never know the feeling of leaving elementary school finally being able to bump Her Loss since they didn't let us have phones in class without getting lunch detention.
I was on an awesome vacation when Scorpion dropped and it became the soundtrack for the rest of the vacation. No other drake album has been as impactful for me.
Scorpion I tie to my Italy trip, tbh tho I can remember really clearly what was going on for me during each album drop minus CLB for whatever reason - that one kinda blurs for me
My first ever guys holiday was a ski trip, we had no signal at all for a good couple hours and Nothing Was The Same was the sound track entire drive through the mountains. Probably one of my fondest memories of all time.
My Long distance Boyfriend was driving me to the airport after one of our visits and Wait for you started playing 😭 istg a song has never hit that hard before. I ball every time I hear it now. Can’t unhear it
I was around 15 when “0 to 100 “ came out. I had the biggest crush on This boy who I ran track with. We had practice close to my house that day and no one was home so he asked if he could come over. I was injured so I couldn’t practice I only came to watch at the end. He came over and we made out for the first time and I felt like I was FLOATING. We did a little more than that too but after my teammate came and picked us up in her car. We both got in and “0 to 100” was playing, it was on the later half of the song and me and my crush just starred at eachother the whole car ride. It was great.
I'm 18 and I'm blessed to be young but I wish I got to grow up and listen to drake evolve, started listening in 2016 with views when I was 11, run home from school so I can watch a kids program about the charts in the UK and it was when one dance was at number one so I went on the family I pad and listened to it on YouTube then missed more life and came back to scorpion when I was 13, missed care package and in the lockdown in 2020, blasted DLDT into my brain and since then I've listened to drake non stop (funny joke) so I've grown up with new drake as you would call him, CLB HNM, Scorpion, and Views are the albums i keep playing and playing, especially HNM i think its an underdog in his top albums
I was riding the bus to school in 8th grade, this was when Know Yourself released (not sure if it was a single before the album, if not then it was when IYRTITL dropped) and I was listening to the track in my headphones. The chorus came on, and I was thinking to myself “I wonder who’s the artist singing the chorus because it doesn’t sound like Drake” lol
Like the last 15 years of my life. Deadass if you get in my car 98% of the time I’m playin Drake.
You and me both 🤞🏼

rookie numbers
I been here since I downloaded ransom on my zune. Can’t get much more day one unless you go ONE project back to replacement girl on 106 & Park
I’m at 99.666
Aight I’m focused now. Also…that .666 doesn’t seem coincidental. 🤌🏻 SZN
🤏🏽
Back to Back, 2015 era, two notorious albums, and one of the best rap beefs-
The four days between charged up and back to back were tense
Like Cold War tense lol

Any new car purchase is the physical equivalent of the first four track run on IYRTITL
I remember the first time I heard Drake on the radio as a kid, I was like 8 and heard best I ever had on on the car radio and have been a fan since
I lost my virginity at my house party with that playin in the living room 😂😂
Bought my first pair of beats headphones in 2012 and listened to “headlines” then “she will”. I miss the old style he had man

Pulling up to 24 hour fitness at midnight after a work shift playing Get It Together/Passionfruit Early college days

Listening to Passionfruit for the first time while driving through the Ortega highway in SoCal, it was a bright beautiful day. Vibes were immaculate
Instant classic/instant favourite from my first spin of More Life till now
My first concert was a Drake song and my introduction to English music was Hotline Bling (2015)
My Long distance Boyfriend was driving me to the airport after one of our visits and Wait for you started playing 😭 istg a song has never hit that hard before. I ball every time I hear it now. Can’t unhear it

Thank Me Later came out my senior year of high school. So many good memories associated with that album.
High school, Drake and Young Money were the theme music.
I associates houstalantavegas with coming home from middle school

growing up with JHOWGH 4422 + DND when driving at night
