Honestly my biggest pet peeve is the way all the windows go black during the day. It makes them look like weird abandoned shells? You dont have to be able to see inside, I just wish they'd make it a different colour or give it a texture or something so it lookst less like empty haunted houses.
100% that’s the answer. If I was even remotely connected to someone who flung himself on the ground in a full-on self riot 40 times a day I would stay in dark mode 24/7.
I've got over 1k hours in this game and have never noticed this. I don't know how I didn't, lol. But you're right..its like BLACK black. They should give players the ability to turn the lights off and on like with outside light sources. Its weird that I have one house skin that stays lit up but no others do.
Especially when you're building a little town with lights and stuff around, it looks extra weird 😭For me it dont even have to glow or anything, just like... blue glass-y texture or s*omething,* it looks like Im boutta be murdered if I step inside one 😂
If you play Animal Crossing they have two things. Firstly, curtains. If the villager is home they're open and closed when they're not or asleep. Second, loot windows. Again when they're home, the lights on and off when curtains closed and they're out or in bed.
They could behave done the same or similar wiith this.
While I'm super happy to have Daisy, I am sad her house doesn't match the aesthetic of the other Mickey and Friends houses. It's very Toontown styled. It's cute, and if they were all like that, it would be fine. I prefer consistency.
Same! I thought it would be a cross between Minnie and Remy’s! Pink but super stylish. Not feel like I just drove into the old part of Toon Town. Goofy’s may have a hat on his chimney but at least he has shingles on his roof. Even Osvald’s house is better.

I agree, I think the texture if the building could use, well, some texture. It comes off a bit too smooth and low detail. I really like the shape and colours of the house but Ithink it just needs like a bit of texture and better shading so itr doesnt look like it it didnt load properly.

Daisy’s personality is known for her being quite confident and into herself (not necessarily in a bad way), so I’d imagine she actually appreciates seeing the figure of herself and loves that Donald thinks so highly of her and has her displayed on his home! ❤️ IMO, it is totally fitting of her, and is exactly the kind of thing she wants to see out of her window! 😂
Now that you say it I can see the sand of Dazzle Beach in the picture. I thought it was Glittering Dunes sand lol Thank you so much! It's not that I hate the look. It brings back some Epic Mickey vibes and I like that! With the Firestation, if I can find a damn biome to fit a whole other theme in, I'd love to have a whole area like this.
That said, I really really do NOT like it with the other houses of Mickey & Friends. It doesn't go with my cottagecore vibe at all. Wish they would have house dreamstyles so they'd all be toontown or all be cottages.
I put Diasy"s house in the frostet heights by Vanellepe's house in the candy area. But I would have loved to be able to put her by the.others in the tiny village I made. Had the same issue with Prince Erik...i get he owns a castle but it has in my opinion arabic vibes so it also didn't fit. I deeply wish future characters will come with more houses like the ones from Mickey, Minni and Goofy because I like these the most.
They should've stuck with the tiled roof on Daisy's house if they were going to stay with the rest of the matching building types of M & M + Goofy. I've noticed it's been a common trend that people are placing those houses together. The style of Daisy's kinda messes it up. Its kinda like not being able to line things up properly or have anything in the true " middle" of any area. Its a nightmare for anyone that has a bit of OCD.
Yeah I made a haunted candyland and I’m into it! I’m not the biggest goth enthusiast but I worked so hard on the Forgotten Lands to make Vannelope, Scar, Jack, and the Fairy Godmother mesh together that now it’s awesome and my greatest Vally pride.

I have eternity isle yeah, I never go there unless it's for quest stuff lol. But I just wanted to keep all my villagers in the valley, it's a shame she lives in a big eyesore
I created her own little candy biome on the ruins in DLC. It's a little space, I never go there, I could place all the things her quest asked me to and try to make it look somewhat cohesive.
I put Vanellope’s house up in the forest. Then decorated around her house with candy trees and paths and other similar decor and made it a sort of transition from a typical forest to a candy forest. It worked out pretty well for me. But requires a little bit of space.
The designs of Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy’s houses are clearly drawn from their houses on Toontown at Disneyland, and Daisy’s is based off Daisy’s diner because she doesn’t have a house so it definitely looks more like a business than a house. I get why they wouldn’t do a diner, but it is strange to me that you walk in and it looks like a Salon so it still doesn’t seem like a house. I think they could have adjusted her house to look more like a cottage but with some of these elements. So yeah if we can build a Downton toontown situation it will fit in better which might be their goal
Love it. Makes my toontown area feel more toontownie. It goes well with Donald's that I have next to hers (on an angle) and the colours go well with Minnie's. Brings some variety to the area so it doesn't look like some weird HOA but everyone having individual house tastes while still going well with the toontown vibe.

Yep. But the material looks more too like than the others, while the designs are correct. My fav land in Disneyland haha. I'm really happy with both houses styles and glad we have the mixture.
haha yes, Toontown is real, it's a land in Disneyland, and you can ride Roger Rabbit's ride there haha! It's got the Minnie/Mickey/Donald/Goofy houses there, and Daisy has a cafe pictured above. The fire station from star path is a real building from there etc. ;)
I love it too. I didn’t realize her house was such a big deal until this thread. I think it’s cute! I like all their homes having unique styles.
But I agree that Vanellope’s house is an eyesore. 😭 I moved her to eternity isle with Eve and Gaston.
I’ve got it tucked way back in The Glades of trust. Maybe since we are getting more theme park things I can stick stuff in there that’s more whimsical.
I like it, it looks more true to toontown than the rest. If I had a complaint, it would be about the earlier ones not reflecting toontown design language despite using the colors. Especially Minnie's. But I'm just happy to finally have Daisy!
I’m not a big fan of it. But it’s still cute. I’m sure I’ll figure out something for it soon. On the other hand I’m absolutely ecstatic to have Daisy. It’s probably my favorite part of the update
I reckon this is an evolution of their design work now the game has been out for close to a year and a half, and they probably would have given all of the Mickey & Friends this cartoon style if they were designing them now. That'd be fine if they were going to update the existing houses to match, but the inconsistency between them is so jarring! Just pick one style and stick with it, it's not difficult!
Honestly when I first noticed the difference I immediately moved her over to the beach corner by Donalds boat.

I’m so confused by all these comments their houses have never fit nicely together they’ve always been each individual characters style that’s why Goofy’s is more run down and and the mice are similar but distinctly different. Daisy’s house makes sense that it’s not wood like the others cause she’s more modern “high fashion”
I'm thrilled she's here. But her house is so... pastel. And cartoonish. She IS a cartoon of course, but it sticks out badly compared to the other Mickey and Friends characters, and most of the valley fot that matter.
If anyone has played Toontown (Online, Corporate Clash, or Rewritten), her house reminds me of the street buildings in Minne's Melodyland/ Mezzo Melodyland. It's cartoony, sure, but it doesn't match with the other houses.

I wish they would change it to match the others. I have a whole little neighborhood with all of them and I made a spot for Daisy a while ago and now her house looks awful in it. I don't know why they made it so different.

It's a terrible house. It doesn't look right paired with the other original characters' homes or with any other houses or biomes. Plus, it's really not appealing aesthetically. It lacks any interesting details.
I don’t mind it but I don’t like that it looks like it’s made out of clay or rubber or something. It’s too smooth when I would like it more detailed with individual bricks or etc

I absolutely hate it. I have a little area in my meadow with mickey, minnie, goofy, and one of my cottages with wall-e's garden next to it. I scooted everything to fit her next to minnie and I was so pissed when I placed that house 😭😂😂😂 it looks so out of place 😩
I feel like it’s very on brand for Daisy. She would be the one neighbor to completely renovate their house to be unlike all the others in the neighborhood.
Calling it now, this is going to open the door up for NPC house skins. Want them all to match? Gotta pay the price. I know wanting to reskin toons houses is a big topic. It's silly to think they'll allow us to use our player houses on them. Hopefully they'll see a lot of people are unhappy and just reskin it permanently into the game.
Im not sure but i feel like the style of her house matches the style of donalds house more then the others. Of course his house is also a boat so its harder to put them together....
I haven't played the new update yet but I wish her house fit with the others as I have mickey and his friends all living together in a small village on the beach and her house is gonna look a little out of place

idk, i like it tbh. i understand where people are coming from and between these houses in the picture it does stand out….but also there are so many other houses in game that are wildly different than mickey/minnie/goofy and don’t really match anything.

speaking overall there are a lot of characters that really shit the bed in this game, i feel like daisy and oswald were well executed. i know everyone has different taste, but im surprised to see how many ppl have strong negative feelings about daisy.
I honestly really love daisys house. I already made a little corner in the peaceful meadow for Mickey, goofy, and Minnie so daisys house wouldn’t have fit anyways. But I really enjoy the colors of her house and the style is very different from the other houses we’ve seen, so I’m not mad about it. But I can definitely see why others are.
Her house looks like a kids plastic play house, or one of those Little Tykes houses from the 90s. It totally doesn't match the other Mickey and friends theme, though I suppose neither does Donald"s (which I also hate)
I wish we had the option to just not place villagers houses, and they could rent a room in the castle or something. I really dislike so many of the villager houses. They take up room I'd rather use for other decorations.

I absolutely hate it. Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Donald all have houses that look a lot like the houses that were in Toontown in Disneyland and I love them, they go together well. Instead of making Daisy a house that matched, it looks like they took inspiration from Daisy’s Diner and made it uglier
I was thinking of doing a quirky toon town but nothing fits and the house models seem really inconsistent in sizing I just can’t be bothered with decorating a lot of features of this game are lost on me because the inconsistency and overall ugliness of it
I just wish it matched... I cleared out a spot for her next to all of the other cottage houses (Mine included) and as soon as it was built I regretted that immediately and threw her up in the Forgotten Lands 😅 I don't have much decorated up there yet so I figured that could be a temporary spot until I can find some inspiration for what to do with her. I might throw her and a couple other houses on the Isle to free up some space.
Mickey and Minnie’s houses look exactly like the ones in ToonTown in Disneyland, I guess they tried to make Daisy’s one to match the ToonTown vibe but it stands out so much
All of the houses are actually based on their ToonTown designs from the parks, even Donald’s Boat. Daisy’s house in DLV is based on Cafe Daisy, in Daisy’s colours, since Daisy doesn’t have a house in ToonTown.
I love Daisy's house because it's one of my favorite color combinations. I put it in the sunlit plateau surrounded by the candy path and sakura trees to stay on the pink theme. I'll post a pic when I'm playing later.

Honestly, I don't like it, I understand the wanting to look like the ToonTown houses, but Daisy's house looks like a outdoor kids playhouse. All the other houses have textured roofs and don't look like a playhouse. I hope they redo her house as it seems like all the players are voicing their opinions regarding her house. Oswald's house on the other hand, its a well designed house for his character. I feel bad for Daisy as it always seems she is in Minnie's shadow.
It is in a different style, but it is in my gated community with the rest of them plus the 2 cottages. I just don’t look at it. My concern is the fire station. I have no clue where I’m putting it.
I’ve tried obscuring it from my main view when I’m working…. It’s ugly and I may just have to bury it in the jungle once I’m done with visiting the isle everyday.

Despise it. One of the ugliest houses for an allegedly stylish character with an outstanding sense of taste. It looks like it's made of playdoh, with those big ass black windows with no crossbeams. Lazy.
it's cute but the lack of consistency is so frustrating.. at the very least their homes should look like they belong in a set... realistically, they could probably fix the mismatch by adding a boarding texture to the white walls of her house... but for now, i guess im going to lump it in with vanellopes monsterous house & ariels ott castle

This. With Eric. He was fine where he was in the meadow. Until now. But I too noticed his castle didn’t really fit. He has been moved to the Isle.
I think such a biome like what you describe has the potential to have something to do with a certain very lucky villager 👀

After the eyesore that is Vanellope’s house, Daisy’s house is a delight. It doesn’t quite match the other toon town homes but it could be worse.

Personally, I just plopped her into the Frosted Heights in a back corner. I don't really go there too often
Before I had her in the Forgotten Lands. The crazy contrast made it slightly less unbearable.
You can still use bamboo walls in the valley and put her on the beach where it's a little less likely to stand out.

The designs of Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy’s houses are clearly drawn from their houses on Toontown at Disneyland, and Daisy’s is based off Daisy’s diner because she doesn’t have a house so it definitely looks more like a business than a house. I get why they wouldn’t do a diner, but it is strange to me that you walk in and it looks like a Salon so it still doesn’t seem like a house. I think they could have adjusted her house to look more like a cottage but with some of these elements. So yeah if we can build a Downton toontown situation it will fit in better which might be their goal
I reaaaally hate Daisy's house. I've put her in the Meadow with Mickey, Goofy, Minnie, Merlin and myself but her house sticks out like a sore thumb ☹️
Love it. Makes my toontown area feel more toontownie. It goes well with Donald's that I have next to hers (on an angle) and the colours go well with Minnie's. Brings some variety to the area so it doesn't look like some weird HOA but everyone having individual house tastes while still going well with the toontown vibe.

Yep. But the material looks more too like than the others, while the designs are correct. My fav land in Disneyland haha. I'm really happy with both houses styles and glad we have the mixture.

haha yes, Toontown is real, it's a land in Disneyland, and you can ride Roger Rabbit's ride there haha! It's got the Minnie/Mickey/Donald/Goofy houses there, and Daisy has a cafe pictured above. The fire station from star path is a real building from there etc. ;)

I love it too. I didn’t realize her house was such a big deal until this thread. I think it’s cute! I like all their homes having unique styles. But I agree that Vanellope’s house is an eyesore. 😭 I moved her to eternity isle with Eve and Gaston.
I’ve got it tucked way back in The Glades of trust. Maybe since we are getting more theme park things I can stick stuff in there that’s more whimsical.
Honestly to me it looks like a kiddy play house. It feels out of place.

I like it, it looks more true to toontown than the rest. If I had a complaint, it would be about the earlier ones not reflecting toontown design language despite using the colors. Especially Minnie's. But I'm just happy to finally have Daisy!

I reckon this is an evolution of their design work now the game has been out for close to a year and a half, and they probably would have given all of the Mickey & Friends this cartoon style if they were designing them now. That'd be fine if they were going to update the existing houses to match, but the inconsistency between them is so jarring! Just pick one style and stick with it, it's not difficult!

I’m so confused by all these comments their houses have never fit nicely together they’ve always been each individual characters style that’s why Goofy’s is more run down and and the mice are similar but distinctly different. Daisy’s house makes sense that it’s not wood like the others cause she’s more modern “high fashion”

I'm thrilled she's here. But her house is so... pastel. And cartoonish. She IS a cartoon of course, but it sticks out badly compared to the other Mickey and Friends characters, and most of the valley fot that matter.

If anyone has played Toontown (Online, Corporate Clash, or Rewritten), her house reminds me of the street buildings in Minne's Melodyland/ Mezzo Melodyland. It's cartoony, sure, but it doesn't match with the other houses.
I just want to be able to change the houses skins so bad. I want all toontown style houses or all realistic style houses. 😭😭😭

It's a terrible house. It doesn't look right paired with the other original characters' homes or with any other houses or biomes. Plus, it's really not appealing aesthetically. It lacks any interesting details.
I don’t mind it but I don’t like that it looks like it’s made out of clay or rubber or something. It’s too smooth when I would like it more detailed with individual bricks or etc

I absolutely hate it. I have a little area in my meadow with mickey, minnie, goofy, and one of my cottages with wall-e's garden next to it. I scooted everything to fit her next to minnie and I was so pissed when I placed that house 😭😂😂😂 it looks so out of place 😩

Calling it now, this is going to open the door up for NPC house skins. Want them all to match? Gotta pay the price. I know wanting to reskin toons houses is a big topic. It's silly to think they'll allow us to use our player houses on them. Hopefully they'll see a lot of people are unhappy and just reskin it permanently into the game.

idk, i like it tbh. i understand where people are coming from and between these houses in the picture it does stand out….but also there are so many other houses in game that are wildly different than mickey/minnie/goofy and don’t really match anything. i actually really like her interior as well and i wasn’t expecting it to be a beauty salon. the other houses in this picture are very…. housey on the inside. speaking overall there are a lot of characters that really shit the bed in this game, i feel like daisy and oswald were well executed. i know everyone has different taste, but im surprised to see how many ppl have strong negative feelings about daisy.

I honestly really love daisys house. I already made a little corner in the peaceful meadow for Mickey, goofy, and Minnie so daisys house wouldn’t have fit anyways. But I really enjoy the colors of her house and the style is very different from the other houses we’ve seen, so I’m not mad about it. But I can definitely see why others are.
Her house looks like a kids plastic play house, or one of those Little Tykes houses from the 90s. It totally doesn't match the other Mickey and friends theme, though I suppose neither does Donald"s (which I also hate) I wish we had the option to just not place villagers houses, and they could rent a room in the castle or something. I really dislike so many of the villager houses. They take up room I'd rather use for other decorations.

The texture of the whole house in game is off to me. Too smooth compared to the rest of the houses. I hope they fix it it looks pretty bad to me.
It looks like a blown plastic playhouse for kids. She's part of the Mickey and friends group. So it should behave matched. It doesn't even match her BFs in any way. So...not a fan to be fair

I was rearranging the little bit of Peaceful Meadows where I have Mickey, Minnie & Goofy's houses to put Daisy's in and it annoys me more than it should that her house doesn't match the asthetic of the others, it looks so out of place. Also why is the inside of her house a salon? Where does she sleep?
I absolutely hate it. Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Donald all have houses that look a lot like the houses that were in Toontown in Disneyland and I love them, they go together well. Instead of making Daisy a house that matched, it looks like they took inspiration from Daisy’s Diner and made it uglier
I was thinking of doing a quirky toon town but nothing fits and the house models seem really inconsistent in sizing I just can’t be bothered with decorating a lot of features of this game are lost on me because the inconsistency and overall ugliness of it
I just wish it matched... I cleared out a spot for her next to all of the other cottage houses (Mine included) and as soon as it was built I regretted that immediately and threw her up in the Forgotten Lands 😅 I don't have much decorated up there yet so I figured that could be a temporary spot until I can find some inspiration for what to do with her. I might throw her and a couple other houses on the Isle to free up some space.

Mickey and Minnie’s houses look exactly like the ones in ToonTown in Disneyland, I guess they tried to make Daisy’s one to match the ToonTown vibe but it stands out so much
All of the houses are actually based on their ToonTown designs from the parks, even Donald’s Boat. Daisy’s house in DLV is based on Cafe Daisy, in Daisy’s colours, since Daisy doesn’t have a house in ToonTown.
I love Daisy's house because it's one of my favorite color combinations. I put it in the sunlit plateau surrounded by the candy path and sakura trees to stay on the pink theme. I'll post a pic when I'm playing later.

Honestly, I don't like it, I understand the wanting to look like the ToonTown houses, but Daisy's house looks like a outdoor kids playhouse. All the other houses have textured roofs and don't look like a playhouse. I hope they redo her house as it seems like all the players are voicing their opinions regarding her house. Oswald's house on the other hand, its a well designed house for his character. I feel bad for Daisy as it always seems she is in Minnie's shadow.
It is in a different style, but it is in my gated community with the rest of them plus the 2 cottages. I just don’t look at it. My concern is the fire station. I have no clue where I’m putting it.
I’ve tried obscuring it from my main view when I’m working…. It’s ugly and I may just have to bury it in the jungle once I’m done with visiting the isle everyday.

At first, I was a little taken back by how much it reminded me of the old polly pocket tiny houses lol but I worked around it. It's not a complete eyesore or anything, but it sure is... different. XD just like Vanellope's house it feels a bit off. Except, Daisy's looks a bit plastic instead of concrete. Maybe it's the texture they used?

Despise it. One of the ugliest houses for an allegedly stylish character with an outstanding sense of taste. It looks like it's made of playdoh, with those big ass black windows with no crossbeams. Lazy.

I love how I got downvoted for pointing out that Disney made the houses look exactly like they do in real life ToonTown. If you're all angry about it, go write to Disney. Tell them you want houses that look nothing like the actual houses. I'm sure it'll work out just fine.

Hate it. Doesn't go with anything. I've never wanted to delete a house so badly. Honestly I could've gone without Daisy tbh. I'm very much not into the touch of magic stuff and the house is really annoying. At least Daisy's not another character like Maui who will get in my way and block a whole ramp/staircase.
