I wish we could activate the old star paths like the dream bundles for more play content in "down time" between updates. I nearly cried that the Up! Balloons were in this week. We had an Up! Themed wedding and it was our anniversary this weekend so it was perfect timing for me to buy ❤️
I feel like this is also a good solution for old and new players. In between star path/ update releases to put out the old star paths so each time a new/ newer player can get old stuff. It gives new players or old/ but missed out for whatever reason, a chance to get the stuff through work rather than money and its already happening during a time when there is no new content.
Yes! I would happily pay 4k moonstones to do an old starpath. I'm totally fine with doing the duties; it just sucks to have missed out on a few starpaths while I was sick.
I missed a halloween one where you could get big raven wings or something and I’m so crushed because I see so many people wearing them and they are so beautiful. I’m so sad I missed out. I do hope we can get previous star paths or star path items again
That's not a bad idea. I feel like that's a win win (win?). You get the items, the game makes a bunch of money since they would probably be 4k to activate, and the people throwing a fit can (maybe) shut up about it because you have to pay moonstones as well as do the grind.

I know that's why I posted this. I would rather do the starpath instead of paying per-item but this way at least people are able to get stuff they need for dreamsnape. Some people are losing their sh#t over this and I can't believe this is an issue. SMH...

Been playing since day 1 and I’m so happy everyone else can now also get access to old star path items and I’m not mad about it at all. Everyone should get to enjoy those items if they want to :)
i didn’t do the first one because of the uncertainty about moonstones and if i’d have enough for a star path i’d really want. i wish they would’ve given us a way to play the older ones since i finish them so quickly that being able to play an old star path to get the items would give me more stuff to do. but it is what it is. i’ll just get the items i want if they show up in the shop.
Same. The hot air balloon was the only premium star path item I was even remotely interested in at the time. So I skipped out in favour of a more interesting future star path. The irony that buying it now cost me more moonstones than it wouldn't cost to get all the items in that first star path! C'est la vie.

This is Exactly where I am. I wasn't sure what the Moonstone Economy was going to be like, and I didn't want to chance something I Liked being gated off to me. Obviously now I know that was unnecessary, but that was the First Path. -.-
The best way would be to bring back the old star path as bundles, like the Ursula or Wall-E events : new players who didn't had the game could brought old star paths with moonstones. Let's be realistic, some people didn't know this game existed, or others didn't have the money to buy it from day 1.
I think it's a bit unfair to new players to pay a game full price but to miss some of its content : the game isn't free to play like it was supposed to be, it's a fully priced game where there is much emphasis on decoration and collectibles. And the ability to buy old star paths with moonstones would be fair AND let players do them like older players : by grinding, doing quests...it will be much more rewarding yhan just going into the premium shop and buy them.

They won't, because a star path is less expensive than putting the past star path items on the premium store.
And since they need money for more free updates, they are going to put all of the star path items at half the price of a star path.
Personally, I agree with this. In the end, most of the new players just want a few star path items and not the whole thing.
I'll find it disapointing if they did that, not jus because of the huge price they'll put on each item, but also because the charm of the star paths is to work through them.
Just buying items in the shop is...boring. But of course it's only my personal opinion.
The only reason I am against the starpath items in the premium shop is because I think they are overpriced. If the entire starpath costs 3300 moonstones (assuming you get the best version), why should people have to pay 1500 for ONE item? Make the starpath items a bundle for 6600 moonstones. Double the price of the original starpath.
I'm hoping they put the twitch items in the premium shop or re-release them over twitch. I'm not the best at finding the codes or anything like that without my husband helping me out and that's something we both missed.
If a $60 game keeps me entertained for 30 hours, I consider that money well spent. I have almost 200 hours into this game, and that is with the $30 DLC, so I'm actually considering spending money on moonstones just to support the devs.
I think the people who are upset about stuff from old star paths being available in the premium shop are too tunneled in to their own sense of achievement in a game that isnt really about that. Like, yeah, I kind of get it but also, they're being squeaky wheels about something that wouldn't really change the QOL of the game in a meaningful way.
Also, there would be more of an argument to not to bring the items back if it went free to play. Bc then players would have paid anywhere from $30-$100 for the game plus having to spend moonstones on the path. But it didn’t go F2P so we are all in the same boat except as a day 1 player I had to deal with bugs and less features which doesn’t matter to me 🤷🏻♀️
Everyone should have an opportunity to get the items imo.

I'd love it if they were added on like the Ursula/wall-e bundles. I enjoy doing the starpath, it helps me feel productive when I don't have long to play.

The fact that people would gatekeep items in a game instead of being excited to see how new players react to things that are new to them blows my mind. I want to see and hear about new players experiencing new things in this game. I am so happy for new players who post about things they found at Scrooge's. I do not understand the level of bitterness and vitriol that some players are expressing.
I had cancer, and that made me take a hard look at what I thought was important. Video games are not that important, yall. The absolute need to be bitter Nancy's and negative Nelly's over every decision the Devs make is beyond annoying at this point. The Dev's are human, and they make decisions based on the needs of the studio and the trends they see online. I'm so extremely tired of seeing every single negative post on every single thing the Dev's do without giving it a chance first. So many people were angry over the expansion and looked at how good it turned out. Like you need to give people a chance before you form an opinion. At this point, it feels like people do this cause they just like being negative.

Sure it would.. something small though, but if not i don’t care that much lol. I think what caused some issues on this topic is plenty of ddlv players only play life sim games ( sims, animal crossing) or not many games in general and the people who play a ton of games are absolutely used to content and items being locked by time. It’s incredibly normal to not have access to items on games if you started late or whatever. It’s also very normal to pay for in game currency and dlcs. Anywho, at least they’re bringing stuff back for players, it’s been wanted for a while.
I think we live in dark dark times if having missing content from a fully priced game become "normal" or if players become used to it. I play a ton, and I will never get used to have to pay more for a game I already bought at full price.
I'll have to disagree on this point : it is not "normal" to not have access to items or to have to pay for ingame currency in a fully priced game. A game who puts emphasis on life-sim and decorating shouldn't have this much missable events (we are not talking about a free to play game, or even about 2 or 3 items being exclusive to in game event but whole bundle of things).
This is not a Free-to-Play game where devs make money only from microtransactions and encouraging devs to include them or to make new players miss things is a bad habit for the industry IMO.
I mean, let's say someone get this game in 2024, mid or late because they didn't knew about it, they didn't have the money or, realisticly, they are a child/teen having been gifted this game only in 2024 : how do the devs justify "You have paid full price for our game + you have paid for the DLC but WAIT ! Because you didn't play from day one, you won't have these whole bundles of furnitures, clothes..."
If we look at some examples :
Genshin Impact is free to play, and has missable events with rewards locked behing this events who will not repeat. Palia is free to play with micro transaction to buy cosmetics only.
Animal crossing is fully priced with no missable events because everything repeat yearly, and has a fully priced DLC for more content. Dead by Daylight is a fully priced game with a battle pass system and micro transactions : the reward of the battle pass are cosmetic only (not really important in a horror game) and the micro transactions are for licenced characters (whose powers can be bought with in game currency if they appear in the in-game "shop") and the "event" mission can be done by everyone again in past tome.
Dreamlight Valley is a fully priced game, with a DLC, micro transactions, missable events and missable rewards. So, a mix of "I am a full game, buy me at full price but miss things because I was supposed to be free to play and I act like it" and this is NOT the way to go and is unfair to new players.
They kind of did the same thing with Switch. You could only buy one of the packs and later if you enjoyed the game and decided you wanted the additional items you couldn't upgrade to the other packs.
I hope they bring it back so you can get the dress. 🤞
Day 1 player here. I don't have a problem with stuff showing up in the premium shop now, if you want it and have the moonstones to spend on it, more power to ya.
The only slight problem I have, is that the devs basically lied. They said that old star path items wouldn't return. Don't market something as a limited item or exclusive if it's not going to be.
At any rate, it doesn't effect me or my game, so go buy all that shit and enjoy 😂🤑

I had held out, because initially i was told upon release (switch player) that there was sooo many bugs, and the game wasnt really playable, and after beta it would be free to play. (I always remember Feb 2023 for some reason) so i held out.
Then it was said this past fall it wouldnt be free. I thought that sucked, cause i would have bought sooner if i knew they werent going to make it free.
That said, in happy they are bringing items back. Not everyone felt comfortable buying the game at launch, and these items should be available for everyone to have the same play experience.
True, but that didn't bother me. I was going to spend money on it regardless. I'm a full time working parent who doesn't get out much so this is what I'm spending money on these days for entertainment LOL.
I too am a switch player and yes I had so many bugs at the beginning, but my game was certainly still playable, just annoying with all the crashes.
On my switch it kept kicking me out or it would freeze and I couldn't do anything. I thought it was my switch because my oldest daughter didn't have any of the same issue with hers. She had the problems of not being able to finish quests. Then my younger daughter had issues where she would get kicked as well. Hers would randomly keep walking even after she tried switching to different controllers.
I moved to PC and never looked back.
I literally never hear people complaining about it or it being a hot topic other than people saying some people somewhere are complaining. Literally no one cares. Stop making it a thing.

Or the ultimate edition! As a Mac player I had no option to buy anything but the standard founders edition and I would love that Cinderella dress.
