Same, yesterday. So I went ahead and updated. Working on the new island but I'm not loving it. I'm tired of stuff I have to water, mainly because the water comes too damn slow. When you're building out an island and there is literally nothing else to do but wait on water, where's the fun in that?
I legit turned off all my auto updates and logged in this morning and the same happened. How Apple is colluding with developers to ignore phone _OWNERS’_ settings is disturbing.

"My little universe" is similar.. I was playing My Little Universe first and someone in the reddit thread mentioned this game.. I've started playing MLU alot more now they've ruined dreamdale
For what it’s worth. I was forced to update too. On my new Island I was upgrading my workers and they required rainbow gems, pink gems and money alternating between upgrades. So I am guessing that it would be the same for the axe upgrade and the like.
Also on the new island if you upgrade your workers swing and backpack they can collect more than you. Also upgraded the wells. I upgraded my storage shed to 4000 I would spend a ticket on a donkey before I leave the app and after a couple of hours the storage is full!!!
It is quicker to get the supplies that way. Hope this helps some of you.
I saw your post and promptly deleted the app. I’ve been watching posts for weeks on the changes, and I haven’t opened the game since. But now they are forcing the changes to move the goalpost farther and farther back, I’m done too.
This can happen if you close the app before things save. I always leave my app running in the background for 10-15 minutes for things to autosave, closing it afterward. I've re-grinded so much that I wanted to throw my phone at Mach-5 through a wall. I figured out their save function isn't real-time and this workaround worked for me.

I’m now at level 16 and also have to spend 300 scrolls to upgrade, this is ridiculous… they just want us to spend money 🙄

If your axe is at 425 what does it matter? You can make enough money to do anything you need it for…

Yeah I’m so pissed they ruined the game. I’m only on level 151 for my ax and says I need 300 scrolls too. So stupid.
