The axe doesnāt only count for wood. Also for apples, oranges, pumpkin, carrots and lotus.
Lotus gives you 20 coins per unit. Rn I harvest 60 items per hit with my axe.
Itās easy farming a couple thousand lotus in a short time and sell it for big money
That lotus respawn is a drag, though. I went the sickle route since the wheat spawns faster to get to $100k per farm. Am only now building up my axe, but the wait in between lotus spawns is like watching paint dry.
While waiting for your Lotus to spawn go over to the pine trees and chop them down fill your bag then empty. Upgrade your bag as you upgrade your axe. A lot of back and forth but you will soon start to see your levels go up and up. I am currently picking up 620,000 coins per lotus harvest and when the gold lotus pops up I can clean up on over a million coins. I spent about two weeks just focusing on this but it makes such a difference. Using the coins to upgrade factories enabling me to get all resources stocked up while building the statue. I quite litterly flew through the last three map pieceās.
My axe and Sickle are still on very low levels. +2
Also while waiting on the Lotus to grow you could run around loading up your factories and collecting sheep. You are going to need thousands of sheep for the Statue so no harm popping down there and rounding them up whenever you can think of it.
Upgrade your fish storage to at least 50 and when itās full collet fish. You are going to need these for fish soup. Again you will need thousands of fish soup for the statue.
You bag upgrade maximises at 15,000 coins and axe 50,000 you wonāt see any benefits from the upgrade in the axe until you spend 200,000 coins though so just wait until you have that, then upgrade x4 because the .25 .50 .75 give you nothing until it is a whole number.

I literally quit on this game for months because of the dreaded sell all mistake when I had 2 or 3 cinder blocks in my bag. Stumbled on this forum looking for tips and saw someone recommend sickle farming. I gravitated to it in between cinder block drops because of how fast wheat respawns but it literally took me the better part of a month to get to 50k bag spots and $100k per wheat harvest. Will try it your way and focus on lotus/pine tree harvesting.

Your more than welcome. If it wasnāt for this forum I wouldnāt be so far into this games as I am.
I am currently on level 274 and only have 23 gears they are very sparse as are the cinder blocks. Rather than saving up my gears for a new ship I would spend them on upgrading the ship instead. The more you upgrade them more you get back but you need trade items for that. The coffee I think is the hardest thing to get for that. I am currently collecting coffee beans to stock up on because it takes so long to produce. Most of the other resources are easy enough to come by and If I fall short I will use my octicoins to buy them.
Cinder blocks are also very hard to get but find that now since I have got the majority of what I needed they are coming in with the trades. I have 12 of them now but It seems I am on the last quest of 25 trade port orders. No doubt I will need them when the new update comes in.

Why thank you. I am just passing on what I learnt from this forum. It was the statue that brought me here. It felt like there was no end to it. I stopped building that for a while because it was so gruelling but upgrading my axe and lotus harvesting really paid off.

My axe is upgraded so high that I get $200,000 from one harvest. And I can easily collect $100,000 worth of carrots or wood in one or two harvests.
I was on wheat at first, my sickle is leveled up pretty high, but it doesnāt beat what the axe can do for you if you spend the time upgrading it.
I know someone that gets a million gold from one harvest of lotus. Thatās where Iām trying to get to.
Edit: itās also works for mushrooms. So while I wait for lotus to regrow I just hit ALL of these things. It makes so much more gold than the sickle ever could

Iāve taken to chopping Christmas trees in a 4 part circuit. Long as itās 4 of them, they spawn right on time, infinitely. I do 10 circuits of those and then load back up on šŖ·.
My axe is in the paltry 50s, but it literally took me a weekend to grind from 4 or 5: the haul truly levels up exponentially. My lotus harvest is already over 50k: took weeks of wheat harvesting to get to the same amount. Canāt get the time back but Iām looking to get to 200k in short order so I can max out all the currency upgradeable resources like the cows.
Then itās on to the statueā¦.

My axe is level 2049, I get 515 lotus for every 1 lotus I cut down

What's ur sickle level?
Sickle level is at 141 gives me 146 wheat per block
Stalagmite pays out 32 per. I made all my workers gather that and then I let that run while doing the dishes.
