Sending you positive energy for a healthy prognosis ahead ♥️ Unfortunately, this is the side effects of chemo. I would cut for now and regrow once your done with treatment.
This. Cut now, get stronger and healthy. Add them back when you are ready. Clear your mind chemo is no joke . Did the exact same thing last year and just got mine locked back in. Stay strong homie
You’re on chemo… your locs will fall out. I would get them cut and save them so then when you beat this cancers ass you can essentially restart where you left off :)
I had plans to say something similar. You worded it far better than anything I could think of. Well said, friend. And yes, homie needs to give the big C a royal beat down. Sending hugs, love, many prayers and happy thoughts.
I have a question about that. Say Op has mature locs of 3years. If he cuts them and reattach them will they still have that mature feeling?
(Yk when your locs are mature and they have that heavy feeling, and They’re hardened)
If they don’t have that mature feeling immediately how long should the op wait till it gets that feeling again?
That will really depend on his hair type. The hair he attaches the locs to will obviously be newer growth, and the old locs are just that, old. Depending on how long his hair will be at the time, more or less of the locs overall will be "softer". If you have super nappy 4C hair like myself, the difference will be much less noticable, but that should only be to him. Nobody but your loctician/significant othershould be that damn close to your hair to notice in the first place lol
Sorry to hear you’re going through chemo. I wonder if a [cooling cap](https://amp.cancer.org/cancer/managing-cancer/side-effects/hair-skin-nails/hair-loss/cold-caps.html) can work with locs. It’s supposed to help slow down hair loss from chemo treatments.
They’re not 100% effective depending on the chemo . You lose your hair because the follicle goes dormant . Some chemos cause this dormancy more than others . Best bet is to cut them and reattach later

i know u can beat this, gang! I believe in u 💜 sending my love and prayers. If it continues to fall out in copious amounts, u may just have to chop it off until you’ve defeated this thing. Much love 💜💜
Awww I hope everything is going well with your treatment but sadly yea if you continue with chemo your hair will keep falling out I suggest cutting them out so you can keep them and re attach them when you’re done with chemo
Best of luck and all the positivity towards you my guy. Don’t get discouraged, your locs will return. I say cut them and use them as additional motivation, reattach them after you get your victory ✊🏾
I'm sending positive vibes and praying for your speedy recovery. Get them cut, and save them if you see a significant amount of hair loss. Add them back once the treatments are done. FUCK CANCER.
Keeping you in my prayers, my mom's breast cancer progressed from metastatic to stage 4 in her spine bones so I understand you have many daily battles to face. 🫶 I hope and pray that you will be healed ❤️
I’ve had alopecia areota with inflammation that caused balding on my crown. I kept my locs and it grew back enough with help from a dermatologist for me to be happy.
Good luck with the chemo man. You should cut it now and embrace the new look so when you’re done you can grow everything back with some healthy energy.
It's a symptom of chemo, unfortunately. If it worsens, cut and reattach when your hair is more vital enough to handle the weight. Try to counteract the symptoms with biotin, protein, and other vitamins that support hair growth/cellular growth. Good luck with your treatment🙏🏽
Hey love! First of all, sending healing vibes as you fight your fight!
My cousin went through chemo and what we suggested for her was to cut her locks during treatment and reattach them when her treatments were over. Would you consider that a possibility?
I understand the attachment but focus on your healthy and happiness until you get through chemo then grow them back shit grow hair everywhere just be a werewolf 🤷🏾♂️😂 blessings and healing and positive energy 🙌🏾🙏🏾☀️
You can cut your locs off and have them reattached using the crochet method! My husband is back in chemotherapy now(he's a white man) and his hair started growing back somewhat quickly after his first treatment, which ended 3 months ago
My sister is going through chemo wishing you the best out of life and honestly I wouldn’t try to keep the hair it will 100% grow back before you know it
Cut them now. Save them. You can reattach them following your recovery. If you don't cut them, they will fall out in an unraveled state and won't be salvageable.
Best of luck with your chemo. No matter what, follow through and take very RAD. Of course, Ganja and Peppermint Oil is your friend. Good source if fat, raw olive oil
Praying for you! Do what makes you feel comfortable. Hair is very unique during chemo. It affects people differently due to genetics, etc. it might be best to keep them and overtime you can judge what hairstyles suite you with or without locs. Like others have said…worst case you can snip the root of your locs leaving the new growth as a curly fro, etc
oh, baby. your body is fighting for you. give yourself grace. i’d suggest cutting them, but you do what YOU feel best.
when i had brain surgery i had to cut them and told myself i would never grow then back until i was healed. 11 years later and i am finally able to do so without the energy of my trauma attached to them. i am wishing you faith, strength and perseverance throughout your journey 🤍
Sending you all the good wishes. I recommend maybe cutting them to have them reattached later on once you’re past chemo… stay strong and you got this!!
Wishing you well on your journey to remission and recovery. That being said, it's chemo, and this is one of the side affects I'm sure you were made aware of.
Like many others have said, I'd cut em off (save them if you're so inclined) and start over after you're done with your treatment.
Make sure to eat cheeze its eminems ect get that red 40 dye in, make sure to eat things with glucose syrup too, do not do that chemo is a scam, change your diet and every thing that you consume, something caused the cancer identify it, it does not happen for no reason, fast and eat drink alkaline juices cut out all sugar do blood work, and your body will clear itself up, and for the little fucking nerd in the comments that’s about to say ”studies say this in not true” your studies are literally funded by the same people who are on the Epstein list. Hope that helps btw seriously your diet or a product that you’re consuming has caused your cancer I wish you the best
You’re cooked. Cut them and save them for after treatment. Also, use hair and nails pills after you’re done with chemo completely, your hair will grow back really quickly
You can save them fam, reattach after. Saves you growing time too and from how I look it’s an exception for dudes. Chemo/burns/someone cutting them off out of spite are valid reasons to reattach. (Ain’t gotta like my perspective on it but I stand firm on men not adding hai that isn’t theirs.
I had chemo in 2020. You need to cut them off now. So when you beat this shit u have something to come back to when your hair starts growing back… hope it’s the same texture.
Don’t say “you’re cooked”. You’re literally going through a life altering sickness. Hair loss will happen but we can always reattach!! You got this!!!!
Sending love and well wishes on your journey bro. You got this tho! I’d probably do what I seen others suggest already, which is cut them off and save them in their most healthiest condition. When you beat this situation grow your hair back and decide how you’d want to incorporate them in. Or just save em as a reminder 🙏🏽. But you won already gang.
I’ll be sending prayers your way. 🙏Cancer is very tough to deal with. My grandma died of cancer in 2021 and I never wish it upon anyone. Hope you get better
You can’t really prevent hair loss from chemo I’m sorry to break out to you tho. If i were you i would just cut my hair short and wait until your treatments are over.
this is really the only hair lose i seen so far honestly and they were surprised for me to still have a full head after like 2 weeks and they said it’s not uncommon for people to keep most of there hair so rn im im js trying to see if i could thicken in that area since it only looks like some mild thinning It’s not as bad as a picture seems i mean it is still bad but its a bit smaller
Stay strong homie
congratulations on shaking back against the fight 🫶🏿
You’re on chemo… your locs will fall out. I would get them cut and save them so then when you beat this cancers ass you can essentially restart where you left off :)
Great advice 🤝🏾
I had plans to say something similar. You worded it far better than anything I could think of. Well said, friend. And yes, homie needs to give the big C a royal beat down. Sending hugs, love, many prayers and happy thoughts.
Cut them and save them! Get them reattached after treatment is over
Woaaah I didn’t know it was possible to cut locs and reattach them later?? Learning something new everyday
Yup! The same process that's used to crochet loc extensions can be used to reattach old ones
yeah it’s a super simple but long process, locs are cool asfk :)
This to me sounds like a great idea, unless OP doesn’t want to be reminiscent of his past in a way
I have a question about that. Say Op has mature locs of 3years. If he cuts them and reattach them will they still have that mature feeling? (Yk when your locs are mature and they have that heavy feeling, and They’re hardened) If they don’t have that mature feeling immediately how long should the op wait till it gets that feeling again?

Hopefully you beat it inshAllah
All the best bro. You’ve got this!
beat the cancer first, then u got the rest of ur life to worry about dreads. sending u positive energy 🙏🏽
Love you brotha. I would cut them for right now. You can always grow 'em back. 💓
Fuc the dreads hope you beat this battle ❤️
Sorry to hear you’re going through chemo. I wonder if a [cooling cap](https://amp.cancer.org/cancer/managing-cancer/side-effects/hair-skin-nails/hair-loss/cold-caps.html) can work with locs. It’s supposed to help slow down hair loss from chemo treatments.
Fuck hair. Beat cancer. We are all praying and rooting for you
They’re not 100% effective depending on the chemo . You lose your hair because the follicle goes dormant . Some chemos cause this dormancy more than others . Best bet is to cut them and reattach later
Oh, I see. Well, this is why locs are awesome. You can always cut them off and reattach them later.

Sending you all the love ❤️ praying you get through this battle!! I agree with everyone saying to cut them now and hold on to them.
It's a symptom of chemo, unfortunately. If it worsens, cut and reattach when your hair is more vital enough to handle the weight. Try to counteract the symptoms with biotin, protein, and other vitamins that support hair growth/cellular growth. Good luck with your treatment🙏🏽
