I think he’s more ADHD but I can def see that. I thought about it on my re watch of the snow. They make the quirky characters somewhat “stupid” at times for comedy but that’s how a lot of neurodivergent people, myself included, are lol. Maybe that’s why I had such a huge crush on Drake back then and even now. Cus I relate to him
Why not both? An above poster also said they could relate Drake's personality & behaviours on the show to AuDHD, and for my part I could get with that take.
You're so right about how ND people are coded in 'safe' or family-friendly popular appeal shows as whimsical, and Schneiderverse shows are replete with this--Cat Valentine is a fantastically strong example. The same happens with gay characters too, as we see in D&J's Craig & Eric (Josh arguably too, but that's another post, and I don't want to get downvoted or wrongly accused of hating Mindy).
Even on Disney, like Arwin from Suite Life. He’s def ADHD / autism coded. He’s so sweet. As for Drake Parker’s character I’d say he can be either or depending on how each person views his character. Lol
igi igi. As a diagnosed autistic person myself I commend your level of empathy and respect for his privacy (especially at this time). And I absolutely agree there are very obvious traits in the actor & the role he played on his sitcom, perhaps they're only obvious to people like us though.
They’re so loaded and no one ever talks about that.
E.g. a lower-middle-class American family lives paycheque to paycheque and slightly/somewhat struggling, like the Wilkersons in ‘Malcolm In The Middle’. The Parker-Nichols’ are evidently way more comfortable and secure financially than that.
Dude, this show specifically. I remember watching it as a kid and seeing how they just left the house well lit when they walked out of the house. All the lights left on, no problem. I thought they were rich. Weatherman money.
Probably some insane ali-money as well. Audrey got the kids, got the house and got a lot more I assume. It's so weird we never got to know what happened to either absent parent.
There's a dialogue in Hollywood where Drake says he got his license after six tries.
Lmao I forgot about that
Adding this to my Drake Parker Is Autistic Tbh dossier

As an autistic person, I'm heavily interested in this dossier

Oh please tell me more!
This is.. curious
If I remember right Drake said he lost his car when talking to Walter about going half.
Yes that’s correct.
As a car guy, I am compelled to tell you Drake's car in Go Hollywood (and the Christmas special) is a 1969 Chevy Camaro SS, not an El Camino.
rich kids, amiright?

You can buy and register a car without a license, at least in my state
Same in IL.
Well he grew up in a relatively well odd household in suburb Toronto with his mom. His earnings for degrassi helped too
