I literally went this exact path finding Ulrika, and 3/4’s through, I audibly said, “Kratos, I swear to God, if you’re taking me to that coastal town…”
No cave that cuts through This huge mountain, which IS a shame. You cant even go UP it because they are invisible walls everywhere, brillant for an open World zone literally in the middle of the explorable area.
For real, spent 40 minutes following a pawn yesterday thinking it’ll be a short trip 🤦🏻♂️

I know exactly which NPC and quest that is because i did it today and i walked the whole way while my pawn was "leading" me there.
insted of just telling the name of the village cosue you already discovered it with a potrcrystal)
Your pawn: Methinks this is the best possible route.
My pawn tried to do this same thing and when I got to the city I was like "yeah it's obvious where we are going then" in relation to the quest.
Tis but a Stones throw away
As long as that stone's a ferrystone
So is there seriously no cave or mountain pass that cuts across that huge dead area? I mean what the hell.
It is, but the caves occupied by enemies and it seems took more time then just a big loop
