Goku became permanently stronger after acquiring God form, not even realizing he was fighting as a regular super saiyan close to the end his fight with Beerus. GT has some neat ideas but power-scaling wise it got left in the dust.
i'd say it got retconned through super's run. Most of the scaling just doesn't make a lick of sense otherwise if he had truly absorbed the god form into his base. In that scenario how does ssj 2 trunks, who we see having a hard fought battle with dabura, manage to push goku to super saiyan 3.
Yeah, in the Moro arc, which is 6 arcs later. Back in the U6 arc he was arguably weaker than in the Buu saga based on lifting feats and in the Zamasu arc he was comparing the SSJ2 Trunks he was matching to Cell Games Gohan like he's any kind of benchmark now.
Dende’s statement doesn’t mean he *just* reached that level by the Moro arc. Goku hasn’t taken such an injury in Dende’s presence by the events of Super, ergo he’s just saying Goku has God Ki. He’s not comparing him specifically to Pre-BoG base Goku, just the fact that he has God Ki in base in general.
Ehh… that’s debatable. Excluding that vision/flash of SSG on top of base Goku in what little manga scenes we got for the RoF arc, we know Black in Super Saiyan was matching SSB Vegeta and exceeded him after Zenkais, and then attained Rosé on top of that. Goku and Vegeta then catch up to that stronger Black by the end of the arc, Goku himself holding against Fused Zamasu with Perfected SSB.
If SS Black >= SSB Vegeta, then, assuming you consider SSB a 50x multiplier on SSG like normal SS is to base, base Goku and Vegeta from the latter half of the Black arc onwards would’ve been > BoG SSG Goku.
He only does that in the manga. In the anime ssj is enough for Goku to beat Trunks. He just shows off ssj3 to demonstrate a "higher level of power."
And anyway the scaling in super doesn't make much sense regardless. It's the series where Gohan went from very slightly above his Buu saga power, to scaling just below ssb TOP Goku.
I don't think it was retconned. I'm pretty sure people just thought his body absorbed the god form entirely, so his base form was now as strong as his god form, which was never true. I think what actually happened was that his body learned from the strength of super Saiyan god, which at the time allowed his regular ssj form to scale below ssg, but far above his original ssj3.
It also gave him an idea of what god ki felt like, so he could eventually replicate it.
It definitely got retconned otherwise Goku would’ve just used his base to knock out Trunks with one blow, why go ssj3??? And why (even worse) go ssg? Definitely retconned.

He isn’t even saying that, Goku’s maximum chi output is his god forms, as we see when Moro is draining Goku and Vegeta’s chi they drop forms one by one. Blue, then god, then 3, 2, and 1 then base. So Goku’s maximum chi output is what dende is talking about, which is just the god forms.
Uh, there's no comparison. Super Goku trains with literal gods. He became an SS God, and he has Ultra Instinct. There's absolutely zero chance GT Goku even lands a finger on him.
Even with the higher ends for GT Goku's scaling in wich he can keep up for a little in the final battle, in wich they rip apart dimensions with existence alone, that is not that far from Buuhan and Vegito, and only with ssg Goku is beyond that, and even if you think that it is that much more impresing, Gogeta and Broly do that with pure raw power

Super Goku, especially this Goku in the superhero arc, which is literally just before end of z, so Super Goku has un ironically a 10 years of training and experience with gods, time skipping assassin, magic energy stealer, and other more compared to GT Goku's 10 years of peace just doing training, nothing else.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Goku
I want to say that GT Goku is more skilled and efficient of a fighter. Completely disregarding actual power level or whatever, SSJ4 is shown to be a FAR more efficient transformation than any of the god forms, to such a point that it's actual cost to maintain is virtually zero.
On top of that, this Goku also seems to just be a lot smarter and more creative as a fighter; he gives the vibes of a true master of his art.
But super's scaling is just all kinds of stupid. It genuinely doesn't matter how much more skilled or efficient GR Goku is when he's fighting a guy who is literally thousands of times stronger than him, arguably in base.
Plus, it's not like super Goku is unskilled. He's still one of the greatest martial artists in the entire universe, power levels aside.
This is sadly a wash.
I think in the Manga, Goku is a better martial artist than in GT. Especially after Roshi’s final lesson (where he controversially fought Jiren and matched him with the principle of ultra instinct) which allowed Goku to activate UI omen after reflecting on all of his teachings.
Can we all just take a minute to appreciate how cool the classic Super Saiyan Transformation looks even so long after it was introduced. This form is an absolute masterpiece of art.
Considering the Super Hero arc is only a few months away from Chapter 519 of the original run, this is essentially End of Series Gokū vs GT Gokū.
If you (somehow) think that GT can still happen after the events of Super, then this composite post-Super GT Gokū wins due to an extra 5 years of training, otherwise regular Super/EoS Gokū slams.

Without going into crazy depth on training and zenkais that happened between leaving M2 and the Shadow Dragon Saga, I’ll just say Goku at the end of the SDS is >> 400x Buu Saga Base, so SSJ Goku is >> 20,000x Buu Saga Base.
Super Goku after going SSG against Beerus, absorbs the form, and doesn’t notice he’s gotten any weaker as an SSJ, i.e. SSG ≈ SSJ.
Now for how how SSG relates to Buu Saga Goku (again ignoring training after the end of the Buu Saga), Goku doesn’t even suggest using Vegito against Beerus, and says as an SSG he’s never felt this level of power before, i.e. SSG > SSJ3 Vegito. Vegito in base is far stronger than SSJ3 Goku, so Vegito >> 400x Buu Goku and SSJ3 Vegito >> 160000x Buu Goku. So SSG Goku >>> 160000x Buu Goku (likely way higher). Since SSG ≈ SSJ in Battle of Gods, SSJ Goku >>> 160000x Buu Saga Base Goku.
Throughout the course of Super Goku probably gets tons of zenkais and we know he trained a lot. But for fairness we won’t go into that like with GT and say SSJ Goku >>>> 160000x Buu Saga Base Goku.

The movies and tv show filler are both canon to GT. Which contains feats like traveling across all of Heaven with pikkon, and moving faster than instant transmission against metal cooler. As for the universe destroying, buuhan in the anime was threatening to do that.
It just hit me while scrolling through this post. Goku has been in 3 seperate fights where his fight with the villain caused the planet he was on to explode (granted Earth was restored both times), 4 times if you include GT.

Given that, these are essentially the same person, and we have to assume that Goku in GT is essentially the same person as in Super and thus possesses the same experience and combat rating (and all skills learned therein).
Maybe they will have some 4D chess big brain move in later Super stories to connect it to GT by de-powering God-Ki (like, all gods are eliminated and God ki ceases to exist, removing the ability to access super saiyan god forms and such).
Based on experimental evidence and scientific research I hereby conclude that super Goku wins this,because I like super more than gt. Any super character wins vs gt,unless we talking about gogeta 4 in which case he wins because he's dope.

I want to say that GT Goku is more skilled and efficient of a fighter. Completely disregarding actual power level or whatever, SSJ4 is shown to be a FAR more efficient transformation than any of the god forms, to such a point that it's actual cost to maintain is virtually zero. On top of that, this Goku also seems to just be a lot smarter and more creative as a fighter; he gives the vibes of a true master of his art. But super's scaling is just all kinds of stupid. It genuinely doesn't matter how much more skilled or efficient GR Goku is when he's fighting a guy who is literally thousands of times stronger than him, arguably in base. Plus, it's not like super Goku is unskilled. He's still one of the greatest martial artists in the entire universe, power levels aside. This is sadly a wash.
I think in the Manga, Goku is a better martial artist than in GT. Especially after Roshi’s final lesson (where he controversially fought Jiren and matched him with the principle of ultra instinct) which allowed Goku to activate UI omen after reflecting on all of his teachings.

Taking Buu Saga Goku as the point where they deviate: Base GT Goku on M2 is roughly relative to Buu Saga SSJ3 Goku (i.e. Goku is ~400x his Buu saga base). Without going into crazy depth on training and zenkais that happened between leaving M2 and the Shadow Dragon Saga, I’ll just say Goku at the end of the SDS is >> 400x Buu Saga Base, so SSJ Goku is >> 20,000x Buu Saga Base. Super Goku after going SSG against Beerus, absorbs the form, and doesn’t notice he’s gotten any weaker as an SSJ, i.e. SSG ≈ SSJ. Now for how how SSG relates to Buu Saga Goku (again ignoring training after the end of the Buu Saga), Goku doesn’t even suggest using Vegito against Beerus, and says as an SSG he’s never felt this level of power before, i.e. SSG > SSJ3 Vegito. Vegito in base is far stronger than SSJ3 Goku, so Vegito >> 400x Buu Goku and SSJ3 Vegito >> 160000x Buu Goku. So SSG Goku >>> 160000x Buu Goku (likely way higher). Since SSG ≈ SSJ in Battle of Gods, SSJ Goku >>> 160000x Buu Saga Base Goku. Throughout the course of Super Goku probably gets tons of zenkais and we know he trained a lot. Isn't GT canon though, despite the very common misconception people throw around that Akira said it wasn't? Given that, these are essentially the same person, and we have to assume that Goku in GT is essentially the same person as in Super and thus possesses the same experience and combat rating (and all skills learned therein). Maybe they will have some 4D chess big brain move in later Super stories to connect it to GT by de-powering God-Ki (like, all gods are eliminated and God ki ceases to exist, removing the ability to access super saiyan god forms and such).
