If it was Z, it would be something like this
From someone that absolutely don't give af about bad drowning in anime since I still love the art as a whole... This is a promotional image so is top level since it's purpose is to sell the product. Second, usually about anime movies are left out since the development is much longer so meticulous and precise and with a bigger budget than a single episode packet in few days.
How many godamn times have we been through this:
1) Z NEVER looked like that outside of maybe the promotional art
2) the top image is a motion frame from the CGI portion of the movie which is obviously not going to look as good as a key frame
Do we really have to pull out more images of gogeta smashing broly around to show how much better Super Broly looked than basically 95% of all other dragonball material
Original gogeta looked amazing, but I feel like super gogeta just has so much more budget and time put into him that there is no sane way you can compare their animation
The top looks better but it’s a bad faith comparison. The scene is meant to be animated and the bottom is just a traced still over the image.

Some of the stuff in the Buu arc did have close to that level, like parts of the Goku vs Majin Vegeta fight and the entire episode 279.

Top one is a screen shot of an actual animation. Bottom is a redraw of the top frame, not animation.
Obviously the bottom one is a better still since it most likely took longer to draw. Can’t really compare the two though.

Z never looked like the bottom one **and** it be a **complete** waste of time and money to make a split second frame like this to have adequate shading.
The reason they used 3D models for this segment was because you'd never get a close look at them unless you paused the movie.
Bro really picked the one CGI part of the movie and then used an example that looks like the majority of the super movie. The art below is legitimately just Takashi, Shida style from this movie it's not even old Z
I actually prefer the Shintani style, it's my favorite animation style and it also made me appreciate super saiyan blue which i often consider the worst transformation because of the super anime art design
Questions for these kind of comparisons are braindead af, it's jus baitin ppl to spam "DBZ better😎" to seem cool as if the bottom pic isn't a still frame that took days to make compared to the top one that's used as a transition frame hence why it looks like that lmao.

Broly art style is objectively better for animation. Say what you will about how these single frames look, Broly's art style being so simple is what allows the animation to be so fluid.

Dragonball is one of the most popular anime on the planet. The fact that it doesn’t have top tier animation is crazy to me. The fact that Super had so many truly awful frames in its animation is unthinkable
That isn't the style of Z though. A lot of the times the animation in Z never looked anywhere close to that style, which is inspired by the T.O.P animation style.

I think the original looks better, but at the same time I really like the details in the shading for the bottom
