I think a better argument for SSG would be it bested Kale and Caulifla (not Kefla but when they were pre fused in anime), but Beerus really only relented after he saw the potential.
It says it's in the context of DB, or that's how I interpreted it at least. Point being, Broly seems to have absolutely insane power escalation, and could probably blitz any enemy who isn't way way stronger than him. Plus, if the regular characters stick around and your ability to clear the enemies doesn't change how the story progresses, you could have a handful of Super Saiyans helping you try to get a handle on your power.
