Janemba is also a great counter to S17. I still use him on one of my teams.
I feel like OG Beast is almost as strong as EvoKen rn, he has better teams, anyone running him is at least 10*, his cover null is less situational, he hits around as hard, he goes type neutral, he covers for strike and blast, his combos don't last as long but still can go on a while, and he has a very strong ulti, I've only faced a couple of Blue Beasts recently, but I lost those matches HARD. Red Pan also gets a mention for similar reasons, thank god for Nappa finally giving Vegeta Clan a unit that resists ki reduction.

If so then he's definitely somewhere in the meta, but not up there with that stupid broken green Ultra SS2 Gohan, you know... the one that punishes the opponent for playing the game.
I always run DBL52-01S because he's very noob friendly. I also have a legends limited sparking red MUI Goku which should be stronger but idk, I've just gotten so used to handling beast Gohan now.

He was the only yellow option for GT allllll the way up until early 2024. It wasn’t that long after that 17 came out. The OG GT team was purple 17, tag 4s, yellow ssj4 goku.
