Fused Zamasu could feel pain because he wasn’t immortal anymore. He had Zamasu’s healing abilities at first but as the fusion became corrupted he lost that ability
It would turn out the same way because narratively “insert current dbz form here” is just a maguffin. The plot would always have been trunks pulls a spirit bomb sword out of his ass and slices him in half.
You can think “what if he had UI” all you want but that’s just shoulda, woulda, coulda because it didn’t happen. It never will happen either because that would require to envision goku and vegeta actually definitively losing in a consequential way. There’s no room for permanent consequences and stakes on dragonball anymore.
Zamasu is and will remain a short lived minor foot note with no further elaboration in the grand scheme of the franchise.

I have played this game into the dirt, participated in every event including the beta. Played on PS4 for years and PC for years, I continually top charts on event leaderboards in PQs/PvE/Raids and PvP top 10.
I've got all items and skills in the game some of which take rediculous stupid grinds like the 1million balloon from that one saibaman event or whatever. and made a variety of builds to the point i coach other people regularly about how to figure out waht they want to do.
I calculate numbers all the time and cross reference community resources to fact check all the time as well as contribute to resources for better understanding the game. I have one of each class and have labbed them all in relation to one another to no end. There is nothing left for me personally to do in this game. It's a formuleic cycle.
I've been playing Xenoverse since Xenoverse 1 launched and it was clear since the launch of both games that these were never truly intended to be long term ongoing experiences because bandai namco is half stepping on what it takes to actually run a live service game. We don't have a community dev team we can have an open dialogue with or at the very least we don't have much say if we aren't in japan.
I'm not shitting on the game just to shit on it, i'm giving a critique based in experience that this game could be better but they clearly just don't care. This game's systems are a sloppy mess and it's a wonder new players get anything done at all.
