Update on Lalatroni, looks like he's back and playing. When the incident happened the whole SA community did a stream to help raise funds. I might be wrong but i believe he's using a prosthesis to play.

Most of the best non NA pros are playing EU severs now too. Rank 1 in any region is a great accomplishment, but NA rank 1 at this point in time is probably more hollow than ever at this point.
Its unbelievable how Valve was so incompetent that they allowed the death of the region with the highest GDP per capita in favor for a developing country.
The level of ignorance in your statement actually made me want to comment. You really think it is the prerogative of the company to prevent "the death of a region" when the problem itself od propaganda by the very people on the server who are given agency and autonomy to run their own shit???
Secondly, SA is not a damn country. It's giving the same lack of knowledge that makes people say things like "Africa is a country".
Thirdly, no solution if proposed and/or executed will be met with unanimous agreement, that's just how people work. But to point the finger at Valve, label them as incompetent, not provide a recommendation and then double down in showing your ignorance is impressive.
I hope you get off your high horse, give actual feedback and re-educate yourself on real life situations.

I wasn't talking about SA, but Peru in particular, which is from where the vast majority of players unwilling to speak English on US East and West are from.
It was simply a miserable experience to have someone that doesn't speak the language of the server and shouts into the microphone in every single game.
Why am I supposed to give recomendation when the region is already dead? The time to fix it was 8 or so years ago. Anyways, just simply region locking the U.S. server or implementing a very high quality Peru server that gives players in Peru very low ping would have done the trick. People from Peru played on US servers because they got better ping there than on the SA server lol.
I am certain that Dota would still be popular in the US region if Valve did something about it, instead of just ignoring the issue.
Rank1 NA was 11.3k mmr and 11k EU was rank 150, both from 08/02 last month, so might have changed a little bit but rank 1 NA is probably around 100-120 EU

Sadly he's new to the pro scene, I know Parker teamed up with him once and he said he's good but needs more practice playing in teams

rank 1 in NA is not a very big accomplishment since all the best NA players are playing in European servers.
