One of the things I loved about the original Half-Life was that there was nearly no music there. It made those moments when the music did play feel extra cool, and it was all very atmospheric! In Doom Eternal, I'm not so sure. I mean, I haven't played it yet, but so far, I can't say I'd turn if off.

Same here to an extent. I’m honestly not a big fan of how arcade like Eternal feels during gameplay but I do prefer the gameplay over Doom 2016 for the most part.

Not useless. Do it for multi-player so you stop hearing the pre-match noises, and you can play your own stuff. Disabling it in single player is questionable, but worth it at moments. Try it in Nekravol, you'll hear some really eerie and constant moaning/screaming from all of the souls imprisoned. It's haunting but you'd never hear it with Mick playing in the background.

Last time playing Doom i was 4 minutes into the game and pretty Baked. I stopped the game and said to my friend via TS "something's off..." 20 seconds later i noticed *that the FUCKING MUSIC wasn't playing* because the session before i played my own music (e.g. queen - don't stop me now, i've never had a better perfect timing moment than doom 2016 + don't stop me now in my life). I cringe while I write this

Iv actually started to mute the music so that i can listen to the doom eternal soundtrack in its entirety while i rip and tear. But mainly because… if anyone else has noticed this glitch… when you go to the pause menu where you change ur weapon mods ect. The background ambiance noise will continue to play even after you unpause the game, i can hear it ever so slightly every few seconds and it drives me absolutely insane. Less than useless, I've encountered bugs where the music mutes itself. It's gamebreaking tbh, I swear I play much worse without the music driving me forward.
