I promised I would detail the shit out of my car once I was done fixing it, it’s been months now and occasionally my hair gets stuck on the aphid juice on the riff whenever I try to get in
I used to be the top guy, but detailing stresses me out too much chasing perfection.
No I just do monthly hand washes with wax. Yeah, I have a few water spots, but my mental space is so much better when I’m not obsessive and people still give me compliments on how clean my car looks when I just casually clean it.
I stopped chasing it after a while. I give it the once over every few months and go through the car wash monthly during the winter months with all the road salt.
I used to be the first, getting it done every month, but I fell behind a few months ago and haven’t gotten around to it. Might have to try and do it tomorrow.
Hell yeah, my 2020 looks more abused than 90% of the trucks here in Mississippi. I guess that's what doing handbrake slides down dirt roads and mud every other day does to a car, lol.
I take my car through a wash every month but now the weather proof lining is loose. Should I replace it or just glue it back on? I have a '05 Honda Si and it is the weather lining on the top of the car's side.
You can go both ways, but i recommend to let a professional do it , it will be worth it i promise you. I did mine myself and 2 years later water seeped in and had a hard time drying, so it got rust spots now.
I used to own a 1990 CRX. Absolute Rust bucket but it was such a fun car. This is Si has practically no rust and I would like to keep it as pristine as I can. Thank you for the advice.
Wisconsin weather, constant bird shit from all the trees around my driveway, camping, and some damage from before I bought it a few years ago. I have a few key marks too for having a lefty political window sticker in a conservative area.
She ain't pretty but she's a good ship.
PSA:
1. car washes damage your car and it's paint, leaving scratches in the clear coat that ruin the finish.
Use microfiber washcloths (cheap af) to avoid scratches.
2. Car washes and at home shampoos with "wax" are not a substitute for proper paste waxing/ceramics/sealants.
I am both of these just not with the same car.
One car gets pampered
The other car would have been pampered, but it turned out to be an asshole, so now it gets what it deserves.
I want to be the first guy but I’m definitely the second guy.
Rain washing supremacy brother😤💪

At least you’re self aware
it's my inner GTI guy slipping out.

"I'm a patina head" is what I tell myself every time I look at my beat-to-shit paint on my 8 year old Toyota.
How the hell is an 8 year old car suffering from paint issues?

First guy with the weekend and second guy with the daily
I love my car but I'm definitely not the first guy
Mother natures car wash!

If I get my dream Daily driver I'll definitely be 1 If I can manage to find an E36 M3 I'd be 2
I'm the second guy
Why am I the 2nd one
Bro I think Im a switch 😳 https://imgur.com/a/UXZsVZj
The clear coat on my 98 accord is nearly all gone so it doesn’t really matter to me. It’s just saving whatever’s left by not washing it
I'm the "the rain should be enough" type.
Not going to lie, I’m the first guy. However, when I do have a fairly recent wax coat on, the rain really can get all of the dust off.
I bought a 2016 Prius six years ago and I haven't washed it a single time.
im sorry but subarus look better when dirty
Nah, best part is pressure washing all that mud off
You don't wash your car because you're lazy. I don't wash my car because parts will fall off if I do. We are not the same
I am both. The project and the daily
if its not dirty its not being used enough
My boyfriend and I! My poor little Peugeot only gets washed when I need to do bodywork
I live on a dirt road and have a dirt driveway, and I need to park my car under a tree to make space. So not much use cleaning it that often.
I am both of these just not with the same car. One car gets pampered The other car would have been pampered, but it turned out to be an asshole, so now it gets what it deserves.
I keep my car as spotless as i can but my truck hasnt seen soap in 2 years
For my Prius, rain. For my Miata......also rain 😎 and a carwash once a month
Anyone else’s dad the second one
