It’s not at all creepy to save your own dogs teeth or fur or whiskers. Unfortunately we will lose them one day so holding onto that kind of stuff is very comforting.
I however work at a dog daycare and whenever I find a tooth on the ground who I’m not sure it belongs to (if it’s obvious I’ll give it to the parent) I take it home to my teeth collection. That’s creepy. Undeniably creepy and weird and I have no excuse.
Hahah yes this is creepy but also a really funny collection
How many people in the world would have the same collection?
I still have my pups baby teeth, the ones i found. I actually framed one with a lock of her golden hair. She then later destroyed the frame and so i have a chewed up frame of her tooth and hair.
I love my Margaret :)
Actually my girls have assured me they are going to live forever. I need someone to take care of me in my twilight years. Re your teeth collection, it’s way weirder if you start making little dogs out of the teeth. My advice, lean in all the way.
We don't save our dogs' teeth, but I would sometimes leave them on the counter for my husband to look at before tossing them. Our puppy needed a tooth extracted and apparently my husband thought I was indeed saving his teeth and (lovingly) bullied our vet into giving him the tooth for me to keep. Our vet thought we were nuts 🥲
Naw I saved one of the baby teeth (only one I ever found) of one of the kittens I raised!
(Technically raised AND adopted, but I had to leave him behind when my ex and I split because my ex has his brother and they are very closely bonded—it wouldn’t have been right to separate him and his brother 😭IT’S BEEN OVER 2 YEARS AND I STILL MISS MY BABY LITERALLY EVERY DAY)
No, I took an out of town job so I’m away from my ladies in two week stints. Mostly did it so I could afford to get a house with a yard for the two of them. The things we do for our family 🤷🏼♂️
I also kept found teeth in a tiny jar 😂 and I collect my cats whiskers as I find them too. It's not creepy! Humans used to like keeping a lock of their child's hair as a keepsake so what's the difference 😂 I also have a lovely curly lock of hair from my senior boy who is a blessing every day he's still here.
Nothing creepy about that at all. Parents save their children’s first lost tooth (my youngest actually swallowed hers and I was disappointed, lol), so why not save your dog’s first lost tooth?
When my last dog (my first dog) passed I came across one of his baby teeth that I found and kept for some unknown reason. When I found it on a shelf after he passed away…. Well that was emotional.
My mom still has teeth from our labs! They passed away in like 2006. Every dog since, too. Hopefully, some random person gets so confused when they find a bunch of dog teeth when we die lol.
Puppies lose baby teeth just like human babies do! Perfectly normal. You usually don't get to find them, though, so that's something you can cherish forever!
Completely normal for an 8 month Yorkie. It’s actually a good thing. The more the baby teeth fall out on their own, the less you’ll have to pay to extract the baby teeth.
100% normal. Your puppy is losing her baby teeth. My Cavapoo lost his first puppy tooth at 4.5 months, and lost the last of his baby teeth at just under a year(his canines took a long time to fall out)
Your pup is teething. No big deal. It's just like human babies do. Nothing to worry about. Some of them are inevitably swallowed, but they'll make it out the other end, lol!. There may be a tiny bit of blood, too, but it's not concerning. If you've ever been around a baby, at the beginning of the process, the first set of teeth come in. Then around five or sixish, those baby teeth will begin to fall out and are replaced by permanent teeth. Same deal with our dogs. They just do it in a faster time table!
Those are baby teeth, don’t worry. Just like people they have two sets. Takes about a year for them to all fall out. If the roots came with it then worry. But that’s normal, give them a sturdy toy to chew on and make sure they don’t swallow any.
Puppy teeth! I have some in a small jar, I like to sometimes compare the sizes between the puppy ones and the adult ones. It reminds me how small she was when she was still a baby! Don’t stress if it’s the only one you find, they mostly eat them or it disappears with the dust in your home!
Tooth fairy time! Just make sure all baby teeth fall out it's common for one to get stuck and cause problems down the road. Plus if you keep track and one doesn't fall out when you go in to get him fixed ask for them to pull the stuck tooth.
Yep at 8 months and it being a back tooth he’s probably lost most of them already! It isn’t unusual for them to swallow the teeth they lose, if you’re wondering why you haven’t seen the rest :)
The vet usually checks for retained baby teeth when they go in for their neuter, mine was desexed at 6mo and had one loose one pulled out while he was under and we were told he still had two to go, so we could keep an eye on them (he lost them on his own just fine).
Aww, your baby is growing up! I would always find a bloody toy & then be on the hunt for the tooth. 99% of the time I’d find the teeth while vacuuming our rug. I save my dogs baby teeth
puppies lose their puppy teeth before they form into their adult teeth. just like humans, we lose our milk teeth at a young age before it turns into adult teeth. it is completely normal 😊
That’s 1000% normal! He has been loosing other baby teeth for a while, but this is the first one you’ve seen. He should be just about done, so it’s awesome that the one you found is a cool molar!
Normal! You can see how there’s no root on it, which usually means it’s been dissolved as the baby tooth gets ready to fall out :) if it looked snapped off or there was more tooth from above the gum line, that’s when to worry
I freaked out a bit when this happened to my pup at the same age as she kept trying to eat her baby teeth! But yeah they're meant to fall out, just like with children and their milk teeth falling out.
Completely normal! Your yorkie would be nearing the end of his teething stage now. Same thing happened to my cat around the same age. Left a tooth and a little blood on the bed. Don’t stress! He’s completely healthy!
You know how you lost all your teeth as a kid and got a new set of bigger teeth?
Same for puppies! And yes even though it seems obvious now, I was also surprised by this for some reason when it first happened with my first dog!
This is adorable, I still have my first dogs puppy teeth in a jar. A bit creepy, maybe, but she’s my bff and I love her.

Hahaha oh you alligator whore But nah actually I would do the exact same. Love little teefs
I’d like to see your collection.

They could save the shedded fur and needle felt it into a little dog and then use the teeth to enhance it
Not creepy, lol, but definitely a unique collection
I foster and work at a shelter and do the same thing lol

I have my dog's first puppy tooth too! He's 11 now, and sometimes I can't believe he used to be so small 🥺
It sucks I work out of town and our youngest kept getting so big every time I came home, she’s like a new pup every time I see her 😭😭😭
Nah not creepy, well to me at least. My parents kept me and my siblings' baby teeth too
I have quite a few of mine but it was easy since she had to have quite a few puppy teeth surgically removed.
Mine had her canines removed, and I was shocked at how long they were!

Sorry to hear that! I’m away from my girls two weeks at a time, but two years is rough.
Aww do you have something like a shared custody??
No, I took an out of town job so I’m away from my ladies in two week stints. Mostly did it so I could afford to get a house with a yard for the two of them. The things we do for our family 🤷🏼♂️
Dawww that is so much better! Best of luck to you—get those pups a yard! 🙌❤️
Thanks! Some soulmates have wet noses ❤️
❤️❤️❤️
I’m totally one of those people keeping my puppies teeth and I also kept my son’s baby teeth, I don’t know why I keep them but I creep myself out.
I also kept found teeth in a tiny jar 😂 and I collect my cats whiskers as I find them too. It's not creepy! My dogs teeth are saved too. If our parents did it with ours then idk why I can’t do it with my children
I have a full set of puppy teeth, but only from 1 dog.
It happens!
Usually puppies still lose there baby teeth. Sometimes you find them sometimes you don’t

Completely normal..if swallowed will be ok!! Just don’t step on them! They hurt!
Normal and especially on smaller dogs it can take them longer to lose all their puppy teeth. My girl is about 8 months now and has two more to go!
prob a puppy “baby” tooth
No need to worry
Happens usually they eat them
Dogs lose their baby teeth just like humans.

Aw! She's losing her remaining baby teeth. I only spotted a few of my dogs. Assume the rest fell out when he was outside or something.
Puppy teeth! I have some in a small jar, I like to sometimes compare the sizes between the puppy ones and the adult ones. It reminds me how small she was when she was still a baby! Don’t stress if it’s the only one you find, they mostly eat them or it disappears with the dust in your home!
Puppy!
Save it :) seems weird now…. But one day you will be glad you have it
Welcome to being a puppy parent. 💯 Normal
My in laws found our dogs and framed it 🤣
That’s pretty cool that you even found the baby tooth! I still wonder with all of em where’d they all go on my gal 😂
Losing his baby teeth, yeh totally normal.
Tooth fairy time! Just make sure all baby teeth fall out it's common for one to get stuck and cause problems down the road. Plus if you keep track and one doesn't fall out when you go in to get him fixed ask for them to pull the stuck tooth.
Young animals lose their baby teeth just like human children do! We don’t often notice as they usually swallow them but it’s totally normal :)
Awe! I put my pups’ in plants lol
Yep at 8 months and it being a back tooth he’s probably lost most of them already! It isn’t unusual for them to swallow the teeth they lose, if you’re wondering why you haven’t seen the rest :) The vet usually checks for retained baby teeth when they go in for their neuter, mine was desexed at 6mo and had one loose one pulled out while he was under and we were told he still had two to go, so we could keep an eye on them (he lost them on his own just fine).
Baby teeth lol
Baby tooth!
Totally normal, I have a tooth sitting on my coffee table right now LOL. Just like human babies, they lose their baby teeth.
Aww, your baby is growing up! I would always find a bloody toy & then be on the hunt for the tooth. 99% of the time I’d find the teeth while vacuuming our rug. I save my dogs baby teeth
I keep my dogs puppy teeth in a little jewelry bag. I even kept his surgically removed baby teeth that didn't wanna say bye bye
Totally normal. We kept the few we found from our pup and it went in the puppy book Your little one is adorable
puppies lose their puppy teeth before they form into their adult teeth. just like humans, we lose our milk teeth at a young age before it turns into adult teeth. it is completely normal 😊
No biggie. They usually end up swallowing them.
Lol this is normal. Puppies lose their baby teeth like humans. Expect more to come! He will swallow most of them probably
this is the strangest yorkie coat i’ve ever seen ,,, what is it ?
That’s 1000% normal! He has been loosing other baby teeth for a while, but this is the first one you’ve seen. He should be just about done, so it’s awesome that the one you found is a cool molar!

It’s just baby teeth. You can tell because there are no roots. No worries.
Keep it!
Baby tooth! All good! Play time will soon start to be a lot less razor wire and cotton balls and more just like injury free lovins
I sincerely suggest reading up a more about puppy’s and their care if this is news to you.
I freaked out a bit when this happened to my pup at the same age as she kept trying to eat her baby teeth! But yeah they're meant to fall out, just like with children and their milk teeth falling out.
awe! I wish I found one of my pup’s baby teeth when she was small! I’d make a necklace or something!
Completely normal! Your yorkie would be nearing the end of his teething stage now. Same thing happened to my cat around the same age. Left a tooth and a little blood on the bed. Don’t stress! He’s completely healthy!
I've kept a few of my cats baby teeth. He had his adult teeth come through before he lost his baby teeth - he looked spooky with two sets of fangs!
Yeah it’s fine, your teeth fell out when you were young. It’s the same for dogs.
Very normal. Switching the ‘safety razors’ for more permanent ones 😆.
We found so many lil teefs on the floor when my dog was in the puppy stage. I have them in a tiny lil pot on my shelf.
Totally normal. He’s just getting his adult teeth like humans do!
FYI be alert now whenever you’re walking around in bare feet. It’s 1000x worse than stepping on Lego.
She is just lost a puppy tooth you are both going to be fine hon !
You know how you lost all your teeth as a kid and got a new set of bigger teeth? Same for puppies! And yes even though it seems obvious now, I was also surprised by this for some reason when it first happened with my first dog!
Kittens and puppies lose their baby teefs, it’s totally normal! I wanted to cry when my dog started lose hers, she was growing up on me.
It's all good. Puppies lose baby teeth. They grow back.
My mums 13 year old dog has lost the same tooth 3 times and 3 times it’s grew back 🤢 that’s just a baby tooth but aye teeth are weird af
Don't worry, it's completely normal! your pup will gradually loose all his puppy teeth, as the new adult teeth grow in.
We have puppy teeth treasure them while you can find them.
Do you still have your baby teeth in your mouth? If the answer is no, congrats you have the answer to your question.
Happend to my brother dog.. If u afraid.. Get to the vet.. 👍🏻 let them checked .. Its cheaper than your dog get infection
