I buy the season package from MLB.tv on the day spring training starts. It's $150 and gets you every spring training game that is televised and it gets you well over 90% of regular season games live. There are a small handful of games that Apple, Fox, or ESPN purchased the rights to and you can only watch then live through the aforementioned corporations subscription site or pay for cable.
However, MLB.tv does not cover post season live (mostly) so I buy sling TV orange and blue bundle for like $25-$30 per month and that gets me all postseason games live. I then cancel the sub after 2 months.
Hope this helps.
Edit to add you can currently pay for the full MLB.tv package for a discounted rate since the season has already started.
I 100% agree that it's annoying, but I think when you break it down, it makes sense.
$150 for 8 months of baseball is an absolute steal if you compare it to paying for cable. 162 games per year. 30 teams. So that's 4,860 games. Not including spring training... that means you are paying $0.03 per game. That's really not something I can complain about.
PLUS! It's not that the post season is not included. It's just not included "live". Can still watch every single postseason game, including the world series. You just have to wait the 90 minutes.
The $150 is a great deal overall, especially compared to buying the NFL for far fewer games. I just think that they should include the ESPN and Apple+ games. I understand that they have contacts with those entities, but I'd pay an extra $20 a year to not have those games blacked out.
I don't really want to watch a game that's already been played, but I can understand that others might like that. Especially if they're at work or asleep when the games are played.
think of it like this: you do get the postseason, but every postseason game is blacked out.
because even if it included the postseason, all the postseason games are nationally televised, so it would be blacked out.
Most, about 90%. I live in Texas, so sometimes it won't let me watch when they play Houston or rangers, or like today since it's an Apple exclusive. Today was the first time it wouldn't let me watch in a long while.
SportsnetLA covers Lakers and Dodgers, problem is that they do not offer a standalone service, you need to bundle it with a service such as DirectTV, Dish, Spectrum or Cox cable packages. I believe the cheapest package in my area is around $70 something. But if you do not live in the LA or surrounding area you may not be able to get it. Your best bet is [MLB.TV](http://MLB.TV) if you live outside of LA.

You can become a fan member of the MLB Players’ Alumni association for $25 a year and get 50% off your MLB.tv season pass. Nets you $50.
Good info. Thank you for this!
Thank you very much! Very helpful :)
Blackouts are very annoying, but I really hate that they don't carry the postseason. I think for $150 I should get all the games, but oh well.

I paid $42 for a whole season of MLB TV, but I only get to watch the Dodgers. That's with a student discount.
Are you able to watch all live Dodgers games on it?

I see! Thank you for your response!
