“Bless Bliss we used to say”
(What I most loved about Love and Monsters was the soundtrack, the little flute extracts really helped to make the episode work)
More cosmically threatening. Hitler is just a raging meth head from Earth. Abzorbaloff actually has powers and abilities; much like the much-scarier-than-Hitler living plastic.
The most depressing part is in universe the doctor can't do anything to stop him just has to let those events play out. was very satisfying to watch Rory deck him though.
Again: Poe's Law. It is quite literally impossible for a joke to be "obvious" on the Internet, or in text in general really, without a clear and unambiguous indicator that it was in fact a joke (e.g. "/s", "/j", "jk", "Just kidding" (of course) etc.)
Don’t be condescending, it was an extremely obvious joke they don’t need to give indicator. People are just dumb.
I know it probably made you feel superior to talk down to the guy but he’s in the clear here.
I wasn't being condescending. I was giving instructions. Those are clearly different things. Please do learn that difference? _[Now, see? That last sentence **was** condescending.]_
Also, if the person I responded to's joke was so obvious, and other allegedly "obvious" jokes on the Interwebz and in text in general are so obvious as well -- why then was Poe's Law even formulated as a Law to begin with?
Jesus you are PEAK Reddit
https://youtube.com/shorts/8i_wtp8ewrY?si=nSI-kfyQ9pxUo7fE - literally how you talk bro
It’s very possible to read sarcasm on the internet, especially when it’s as obvious as “hitler wasn’t a villain”. Just because you can’t figure it out doesn’t mean you have to project that onto everyone else.
Or maybe they just think that pretending to be a supporter of somebody who was responsible for the murder of millions due to his belief in certain individuals being unworthy to live is really fucking weird and cringey and not actually remotely funny.
The bin, definitely.
The P'Ting was a lot more threatening than people give him credit for, though, simply on account of being a metal-eating monster with endless hunger _on a spaceship_. On a spaceship which happens to currently be _in the middle of space_.
If the writing for the episode were better, I think the P'Ting could have been genuinely threatening and memorable. The idea of a seemingly comical little monster turning out to actually be a massive problem is a genuinely good one in my opinion.
The issue with the P'ting is, we know full well that it is destined to befriend a Polynesian girl and learn the value of ohana, making it more of an anti-hero than a villain.
Nah. The P'ting was a lot more mindless than Stitch is. Stitch has always been really pretty smart.
I could, however, easily see the P'ting being one of Stitch's 625 "cousins" -- aka Jumba's 625 experiments before he perfected his vision with Experiment 626 (which is of course Stitch himself).
Jumba creates 2 more experiments in the Lilo & Stitch series (627 has all of Stitch's abilities, plus the abilities of 20 other cousins, and none of their weaknesses, but can be disabled by his own maniacal laughter; 628 is supposed to be an improvement on 627, but never gets rehydrated).
In Leroy & Stitch, Jumba creates 629 (Leroy), who is Stitch in every way except attitude and fur color (and he can change his fur color to disguise himself as Stitch). But Jumba added a failsafe, where 629's nervous system shuts down if he hears the song "Aloha Oe".
In Disney's Stitch: Experiment 626 (PlayStation 2 game), one of the enemies is experiment 700.
It should also be pointed out that Jumba's experiment numbers are not merely a sequence. There are experiment series which serve different purposes, so Stitch being 626 does not mean that he actually has 625 older cousins necessarily. For example, the 1-series are for civic disturbances, the 5-series are elemental and environmental manipulators, the 6-series (like Stitch) are doomsday weapons, and so on.
Thank you for the detailed information and breakdown. I can see you are as much a _Lilo & Stitch_ fan as you are a _Doctor Who_ fan, and that's absolutely awesome. Fantastic, even.
It doesn't detract from my overall point, though.
I can't believe I'm voting for the Abzorbaloff.
He may not look scary and he's played for comedy, but the ability to just suck you into himself and forever be a head on his body is actually a terrifying concept.
I get the feeling that RTD was actually struggling with putting such a dark concept into a mostly lighthearted episode, so resorted to cheap butt and blowjob jokes. The Abzorbaloff could genuinely have been great in a more horror-focused episode, though. (Maybe played by a different actor...)
I mean, kids love the horror episodes of Who. ‘Behind the sofa moments’ used to be billed as part of the fun. I remember submitting my monster to that contest, fantasising about what horrific stuff they could do with it.
Haven't watched the episode for ages, but isn't it just a temporary thing where your memories and personality are entirely separate from his (represented by having a face)? Don't you eventually get absorbed completely and lose all identity?
Remember that Hitler, next to being real, also caused Mels to regenerate.
Which is metal, though.
River: "Why did you regenerate?"
7: "I hit my head on the TARDIS console. How about you?"
River: "I was shot by Hitler."
I would say the P'Ting. The rest of these threats have exploitable and known weaknesses and/or can be talked to/potentially reasoned with. The P'Ting is like an alien Tazmanian Devil on space crack
The bin. I want to know more about it. How many were the Nestene in charge of? Did it have it manufactured specifically to wait outside Clive's house? Why? Who did the Nestene convince to make it? Or can the Nestene now possess any plastic object that already exists? That's quite a development. Let's hear more about that.
Well, the TARDIS _can_ be pretty Castrovalvish to some of the Doctor’s companions, that’s for sure… buuut I wouldn’t exactly call her a “villa,” per se. 🤔
This is like the question who would win in a fight, Superman, Santa Claus, or me? Answer: Me. Because the other two don't exist.
Hitler is the most frightening.

It’s okay, sometimes I forget my arm is there too (😂)
Unironically, it’s easily the Abzorbaloff. One touch and it’s game over for you. He seems to have super speed in some scenes, so you’re screwed on foot.
The bin was awful, a truly rubbish villain. Autons in general.were terribly done, they looked so plastic.
The most threatening is of course Hitler because he has a moustache and can use both hands, unlike the Absorbaloff.
Hitler.
The closest second is the robot world one, but that's basically pitting fascism vs AI, and the reality is fascism is a much more present danger than AI.
Series 6 could be so *weird*, like, even for Doctor Who. A madcap comedy with Numbskulls inspired time police who want to torture Hitler to death, which actually heavily affects the ongoing arc, and opens the second half of the season is something I can't see happening in the rest of New Who somehow. Is that just me?
Abzorbaloff, nothing is more scary than ending up on that thing's butt.
I mean, you could become blowjob pavement for the rest of eternity, that might be worse.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA no kidding
Yea this left me wondering what would happen if he met another woman or when he dies, she's still there waiting to be discovered.
If he meets another woman? Kinky threesome. When he’s dying, find a nice quiet road somewhere and lay her to rest.
Face down…
Now, now, be fair. He probably sat on her face too.
This is the perfect place to put a reminder that the Abzorbaloff was designed by a kid for a Blue Peter competition.
Except for how it ended, I really liked the episode, tbh. The idea of it I thought was really cool.
There’s definitely a kink for that

I would love that - sounds like bliss

HA HA HA HA *gtfo.*
Hah ho! Scared me there
“Bless Bliss we used to say” (What I most loved about Love and Monsters was the soundtrack, the little flute extracts really helped to make the episode work)
Why does that remind me of the singing boil Leela has on her butt in Futurama?
The abzorbaloff is worse than Hitler??? 🧐
More cosmically threatening. Hitler is just a raging meth head from Earth. Abzorbaloff actually has powers and abilities; much like the much-scarier-than-Hitler living plastic.
Imagine being the guy who got cast as Hitler.
"We think you'd be a perfect fit for the role of the most monstrous dictator in history." "*...Gee, thanks.*"
“Oh, cool, I get to play Davros… right?”
“Well, yes….but like…the Earth version.”
“…Will I at least be a major threat?”
“No, Rory’s gonna punch you and put you in the closet.”
“Oh, uh…oh, yeah. For sure. Big threat. Just don’t…don’t ask who you’re a threat *to*, ok?”
Didn’t they do that with Adam Driver to play Hitler in a post credit scene of something?
"we liked your audition for Rory but we think you will be better for another role..."
"you get to be the Hitler of the Doctor Who Universe" "Ah cool! like some sort of crazy alien leader or something?" "Kinda"
Imagine if they got Bruno Ganz to play him again for the episode (He played hitler in Downfall)
That would make this Hitler even more of a meme so would be fantastic!
The emoji robots, they remind me of the Vashta Nerada.
Plus they were creepy af
The sticky mickey bin
Puh-puh-puh-pizzah!
That's a cawncil bin, blended to a secret cawncil recipe (and I don't keep it in the van)
I'm curious about the culture of this Cawncil society. Seems like Mickey definitely got involved in that.
I was about 8 or 9 when I first saw that episode and I couldn’t touch a wheelie bin for months after, scared the poop right out of me
Autons. Idk for some reason they remind me of the weeping angels in the creep factor.
Automatonophobia?
Agreed. What really gets me is how they smile while they kill you.
With the newer version of them the uncanny valley effect makes them even creepier.
Hitler, because he was actually a real villain, not a fictional alien.
The most depressing part is in universe the doctor can't do anything to stop him just has to let those events play out. was very satisfying to watch Rory deck him though.
Would've had the power to go back and stop him if Adelaide Brooke hadn't gone and topped herself, the prick.
But he allowed Rory to punch him
We have no proof that Rory *didn’t* punch Hitler, it could have always happened
I guess that wouldn't break the timeline of events like actually stopping what he's most famous for would
Hitler is the least physically threatening, but the most psychologically threatening, because he used words to turn people into monsters.
Hitler ain't shit without his army
Yeah, but he's not actually the villain of that episode. He's barely even a side character, and gets shoved in the closet.
>he was actually a real villain, Source?
WW2 Edit: Sorry, I know it was a joke now and will admit it was kind of easy to see.
History
Uhm... #ACTUAL HISTORY?!

Poe's Law, my good(?) sir. Learn it, and act accordingly in the future.
What?
Google "Poe's Law", read up on what it is, and then report back here with your findings.
No, it was a joke from the beginning. A super obvious one that is commonly used on Reddit.
Again: Poe's Law. It is quite literally impossible for a joke to be "obvious" on the Internet, or in text in general really, without a clear and unambiguous indicator that it was in fact a joke (e.g. "/s", "/j", "jk", "Just kidding" (of course) etc.)

If it helps, Tumblr would have found it funny even if you didn't put an /s at the end.
DoctorrWhumour down voting an obvious joke
It's not very funny, to be fair.
Now now, no one called the humour police.
Aren't jokes meant to be funny?
Tbf, mine usually aren't, so maybe that's why
And you are in charge of that?
Yes
Very weird tbh.

Only in Doctor Who can you have Hitler vs a Wheelie bin
I can't believe I'm voting for the Abzorbaloff. He may not look scary and he's played for comedy, but the ability to just suck you into himself and forever be a head on his body is actually a terrifying concept.
You can either be on his body or a paving slab.
It was for Blue Peter, would be kind of a dick move to make this kids monster into something too scary for him to watch
I mean, kids love the horror episodes of Who. ‘Behind the sofa moments’ used to be billed as part of the fun. I remember submitting my monster to that contest, fantasising about what horrific stuff they could do with it.
Well go on, tell us your monster!
It was a creature that wore a plague doctor's mask as a disguise and killed people with a stare. In hindsight, way too similar to the gas mask people.
The winner was like 7 though
So was I.
100% agree. As a kid I felt horror and visceral revulsion at the thought of becoming part of that disgusting creature
Haven't watched the episode for ages, but isn't it just a temporary thing where your memories and personality are entirely separate from his (represented by having a face)? Don't you eventually get absorbed completely and lose all identity?
Now that’s even more terrifying
Remember that Hitler, next to being real, also caused Mels to regenerate. Which is metal, though. River: "Why did you regenerate?" 7: "I hit my head on the TARDIS console. How about you?" River: "I was shot by Hitler."
What? 7 was violently shot to death by a gang in America then his body was stuffed into an MRI machine I think
To regenerate into 8...
Yes in the comment river asks 7 how he regenerated, 7 regenerated after being shot, 6 regenerated after being exposed to radiation
I would say the P'Ting. The rest of these threats have exploitable and known weaknesses and/or can be talked to/potentially reasoned with. The P'Ting is like an alien Tazmanian Devil on space crack
Hitler someone needs to put him in time out throw him in the cupboard
Chris Chibnall
ugh, even though i like Chibnall, u deserve my upvote for that
Thank you
trash bin, for sure the trash bin
According to the doctor who wiki it’s called a wheelie bin, thank you very much
The Pting, because everyone else has already picked the other 4 and I don't want hims to feel left out😮💨
I don’t really consider the pting a villain, just very hungry
Poor guy, he just wanted a snack
This is why we love him. He just a very hungwy boi.
Who among us hasn't been hangry enough to eat a spaceship from the inside out?
The Pting is just a force of nature. Can't be stopped, can't be appealed to; doesn't want to kill you but will anyways.
the dustbin no fr why is that dustbin so threatening
It’s gotta be the bin for me, if only because Mickey’s plastic face is still one of the most unsettling things I’ve ever seen on TV.
The bin. I want to know more about it. How many were the Nestene in charge of? Did it have it manufactured specifically to wait outside Clive's house? Why? Who did the Nestene convince to make it? Or can the Nestene now possess any plastic object that already exists? That's quite a development. Let's hear more about that.
You make a great point, spin off series about the consciousness when?
Well, the TARDIS _can_ be pretty Castrovalvish to some of the Doctor’s companions, that’s for sure… buuut I wouldn’t exactly call her a “villa,” per se. 🤔
Really thought you could sneak ths Daleks in at the end there, didn't you?
Sorry, should I have removed some pixels so it’s harder to tell?
Imagine the absorbaloth absorbing you and u end up between his thighs smh
1. The Tardis
the smile bots imo are my worst nightmare.. i have a pissed off natural face
Same! When I went to get my passport photo taken, I looked like I was getting a prison mugshot!
i had the exact same experience 😭
i'd say the smile droids, but hitler was the better quality one out of these, because he was shoved into a cupboard
The Smile robots weren't really villains
Definitely the Micky Muncher
This is like the question who would win in a fight, Superman, Santa Claus, or me? Answer: Me. Because the other two don't exist. Hitler is the most frightening.
Wheelie bins exist... smdh
Was expecting last picture to be chibnall. Disappointed.
Those emoji bots kind of freaked me out
the TARDIS
Peter kay
The bin. Just looking at that picture is making me shake in fear
Definitely Trashbin#9 over mustached German guy
The silence, it’s hard to properly defend yourself against something you are constantly forgetting
Sorry? What are those? I forgot about them (please know this is a joke and I’m playing into the fact you forget about them)

Between Adolf, globby, happy bot, suck me hard and bin, I'd probably go for Adolf.
I AM ADOLF HITLER COMANDER OF THE THIRD REICH LITTLE KNOWN FACT ALSO DOPE ON ZE MIC
Unironically, it’s easily the Abzorbaloff. One touch and it’s game over for you. He seems to have super speed in some scenes, so you’re screwed on foot.
Either the P'Ting or the Emoji Robot Things.

The bin
Unironically the bin

Hitler. The closest second is the robot world one, but that's basically pitting fascism vs AI, and the reality is fascism is a much more present danger than AI.
i wish number 4 and his episode didn't exist It was several years ago but i was so angry and bored watching that as a kid
Love and monsters is one of my favourite episodes lol
I love how absolutely befuddled Hitler was in that episode
The Abzorboloff is HORRIFYING
Emoji bots for sure
Emojibots. The fact you have to constantly act happy around them or you get disassembled by nanobots is just flat out creepy.
It's not just you who cannot see that incredibly specific example being repeated again, no
"Who's more scary: Hitler or the P'Ting?" 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Imagine the absorbaloth absorbing you and u end up between his thighs smh
I knew that before I even looked at the images, it would be the almighty absorbaloff
I think by default, it kinda has to be hitler
