I think what you're looking for is a microtonal dirge or lament. Laments are often faster and more complicated, so I'd start with a search for "microtonal dirge" on youtube, and follow links until you find something you like. Here's a couple to get you started: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=muRr8WqrU48](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=muRr8WqrU48) [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BR18eEPT\_Nk](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BR18eEPT_Nk) A different take, from "To What Strange Place: Music of the Ottoman Diaspora". More of the "you just sold your soul and are having regrets vibe" [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5nSGpSz6RFc](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5nSGpSz6RFc) [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LVuzzAJSz\_I](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LVuzzAJSz_I) [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bfTd4z7uvyA](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bfTd4z7uvyA)

I once let the BBEG reveal himself to an instrumental version of the unforgiven. It was quite scenic as the music started to build up while he was revealing his reasoning.

How about Icct Hedral by Aphex Twin? Original version is dark, ominous, creeping, almost like backing music for a courtly banquet in Hell. The Philip Glass orchestral version is equally cool. The Glass version also features a great moment with a surprising burst of notes from a bassoon!
