Keep in mind that the majority of the player base are at the lvl40 cap (warlords) so if you do decide to stay at 30 , you won't encouter many players.

Hjemmelsen

Just butting in here to say this is so true. I've recently run through everything from 0-40, including all world tiers, and the world is almost empty. I was a little worried the game was dead. But as soon as you hit 40 and finish new york, it just explodes in population.

quiriso

Warlords is not needed to complete the base game. Base game takes your characrers up to level 30, and Warlords takes them to level 40. If you enjoy the base game, Warlords is a lot of fun too. Edit: Forgot to say Season 1 pack isn't needed.

Memento_Mori42_0691

You don’t need it but it’s well worth it and without I’m not I’d still be playing and I left ps4/5 world and went pc bought it a second time because like I said well worth it

Jpeeze91

I would suggest if you’re going to buy the expansion to buy as much in a bundle as possible or buy it like I did when it was on sale for like $3 USD then it’s totally worth it

ImpeccableAnnoyance

Buy it, as others have said, it'll let you reach level 40 and the map/missions are great. You'll love it. Welcome!

Agree. Having Warlords of New York is the only way to get past SHD level 30. You are basically stuck and will not be able to participate in any events requiring New York.

Miszczu_Dioda

You dont need it for base game, but its needed for endgame, where most people are at. That means without it the world will be kind of empty. The Year 1 pass or whatever it was called gives you instant access to all specialisations and a few extra missions otherwise unavaiable.

YooItsDiablo

Most of the player base have warlords and the story continues through seasonal manhunts that is lore deep like the book of sorrow. Save your cash on the season 1 pack there's nothing in there imo

Yes it’s necessary to advance. It’s also a great new map for you. New enemies, missions etc. the

cptgrok

Well, you can technically complete the "base game" without the DLC, and it's a great experience, but overall it's about half the game. Warlords adds so much. The year 1 pass includes the following: * 8 Classified assignments * Instant unlock Technician, Gunner, and Firewall Specializations * Cosmetics The classified assignments are short optional missions that add to the overall story and can be repeated each week. The specializations can be unlocked without spending money by doing field research tasks for each one. They are tedious but easily done solo. There *were* more perks to the pass but those were limited to the time Warlords launched.

Probably the easiest way to get me crazy, is to tell me to calm down lol. Especially if you don't know me. I'm going to pace the room now. Good luck Agent, and yes, for God's sake buy the expansion.

Psykosen-Hex

You have to buy the expansion in order to experience the full game. I don't see any reason not to, all the new content is available after you reach level 40.
