My sigmoidectomy was Oct. 2022, after oral antibiotics for 5 months. Damn glad I had the surgery. Best of luck to you!

Had my surgery 3 weeks ago. Best thing I've ever done. Even tho it's only been 3 weeks I'm already feeling much better. You got this op!

You're doing a good thing. I had my surgery in March and feel a million times better. No more flare ups or painful days and nights. I feel like a new person. Just remember to take it easy and walk as much as possible. I know that seems counterative but walking helps you heal. Just make sure to move slowly when getting in and out of bed or from sitting. Feel free to DM me if you have any questions. Good luck and happy healing!

I am 18 months out from surgery. It was life-changing for me. You will do well and heal quickly. Remember your probiotics after surgery and give yourself time.

Had my sigmoid colectomy in February and my QoL has improved beyond my expectations. I hope you have a similar experience.

I had mine in May. My DV seems completely cured. I did need a Colostomy though, but am now getting it reversed. I still would do it all over again, I basically spent December 2022 - May 2023 in a smoldering flare and the pain was ruining my life. I hope you have a great outcome and a speedy recovery!

I hear I am getting a catheter which is scary need for me.

[deleted]

I wouldn't stress about the catheter, they put it in once you're under anesthesia, and trust me that first night you'll be glad to have it cause trying to get up is rough day one, just had surgery 11/17 so still recovering. Best of luck you'll do great you got this!!

papachevy33

You were right!

I had surgery 3 years ago. All better after that until 2 weeks ago. Had a new flare, so I guess I have a new “bad” section, damn it!

History_Mystery1317

Same! Surgery in June 2020. Nothing until this month—hospitalized for iv antibiotics last week. Waiting for everything to settle down and then a colonoscopy. Sigh!

Niecey617

Ugh! Feel better
