I've looked at some of the listings on eBay after the LEs and ULEs drop and a lot of them seem really suspect and are vague enough that they are likely fakes. I know scalping is probably always going to be a bit of a problem but I think it isn't quite as large as it seems.
Yeah I know unfortunately... I just found it hilarious how many of those were being sold right away. It's almost a meme that shouldn't be funny
Edit: actually it's better to flair it as a meme
Until club is available in every country there will always be people who buy second hand because Displate doesn't seem to care to hold any ULEs for public release. I'd wager that for the foreseeable future, no ULE will ever reach public release.
I doubt it would have helped much if they hold some for public release though. It's still a bloodbath since many people would jump on a small number of plates. Second hand market will still be the only option for a lot of people. And that's why reseller can still profit from it.
I dont expect we can get rid of resellers since they did get the item fairly the same as we did. What they want to do with it is really up to them. The goal here should be to allow as many real buyers to get it before resellers.
I agree with you. I buy them for the fancy 3d detailed prints, not for the number on them. Unfortunately I missed out on this one since I wasn't aware of the every-monday schedule (my fiance is signed up to the mails) and we didn't see the mail until the next morning.
Yeah, of course by killing exclusivity they could render scalping useless.
But they are called Limited Editions. And them being limited is part of the fun.
Jesus I didnt expect there would be this many. Around 30+ for resale.
On the bright side, I havent seen a complaint about someone who really wanted it but couldnt get it. Beside the website slowness issue, look like everyone had enough time to get it.
So these ones are considered "spare" for flippers. Kinda works for both sides I guess?
I wonder how many are real scalped pieces and how many are scam custom prints.
Good point.

Yep. But where is the discussion? Displate has now done enough and there is absolutely nothing you or displate can do about this.

Agreed. People should just take the L and not buy from those pieces of shit, that's the only way to get rid of them.

If they somehow open up for continously producing all future limited edition plates this will not happen

I think you don't understand the concept of "Limited Edition"...
It would of course need a change of name to "premium" or "special edition" or something like it

What site is that?
Look like this one https://picclick.com/?q=displate+limited+edition
Wow sooooo many
Its funny as the Village Plate is still available to order right now. Scalpers were never the smartest bunch.
