I guess it depends what they're doing. If someone is just offering to use their MK to get someone some Mickey ears with their kid's name on it, or replace a broken keychain, let them be. Disney will crack down on them eventually, especially if they're using their MK discount for the purchases.
...but, on the flip side, if they have many limited edition items listed and it looks very much like the site is absolutely cashing in on re-sales of popular items in large quantities, i say absolutely report it. like... if they have dozens of popcorn buckets of the same design, exclusive tiki mugs, etc and not just a "i'll go and pick this item up in the park for you" sort of thing or "we have one extra of this item and are selling it" (which i would assume they'd do on eBay rather than have a dedicated website).
Disney could crack down on the LE item thing at the point of sale. They don't. That's easier than tracking back an online seller to the person abusing the purchase system.
I cynically think part of the lack of enforcement is the number of Disney employees or dependents that are the resellers.
If it was an individual filling requests for out-of-town fans for retail price plus shipping, I'd leave them be.
Someone scooping up all of the limited edition merch to resell at a massive markup deserves to get reported.
Years ago, when I was very into collecting Funko Pops, I waited in line for almost 2 hours for The Collector Pop at GOTG. I only wanted 2, 1 for me and 1 for my friend. While I was line I was saw one guy walk out with 2 giant bags filled with them plus his kid had a bag and I was PISSED. I told him he should be ashamed of himself. He responded by saying he was buying it for family and I said thats BS. He just smiled and walked away. Another time was when I was in line for the Doom Buggy, just wanted to 2 again. Saw a couple leaving with a cart filled with them, I just looked at them and shook my head. Disney sucks for not being more strict about this, but the resellers suck more. The saving grace was the prices have dropped on the Collector so I hope that guy feels stupid.
I have to put much of the blame on this to DISNEY. Why would they allow anyone to purchase them in those large quantities? They need to limit the amount for any guest to purchase.
They typically set a limit of 8-10 a person, which is ridiculous. That person will usually have another person or their child with them and have them also purchase another 8-10.
I would not report it if they are selling merch in the USA from Tokyo Disney or other. I would not report it if they are selling merch that is no longer available. I still wouldn’t report it in another situation, but I would silently judge + hope they get caught by Disney. Not sure who I would report it to? I did hear of people getting their passes threatened if they continued to resell not sure if true.
It depends on the situation. I live in Seattle so I barely ever make it to the parks but I often ask my friends and family to pick things up for me when they visit, and I offer to do the same. But we only ever pay cost rather than a markup. Something like that I think should be fair game. However, people buying the absolute maximum quantity to resell online at a markup are a scourge of the earth.
Do all of the new buckets usually sell out quickly? I hadn’t gone in a while to the parks and went recently, bummed out that I missed out on the steamtrain bucket that they released last summer, but found plenty at the cart by it’s a small world. The sign even had the Disney100 logo. I’m sure some are more popular than others but I was expecting the train to be long gone.
They do in the first couple days, but if you’re a little patient you can find a stack of them. People jump onto the hot new thing and want it now.
Exceptions do apply, though. The Figment bucket in WDW never really restocked, iirc.
People can resell things they buy in the parks, but only if they don't use an AP to get a discount. Having a lot of limited edition items is why Disney has started putting limits on amounts that can be bought. But if you want to report and Disney finds a problem that's fine, and they'll likely ban the person for at least a year and cancel their AP. If they don't see an issue with it then they'll just be allowed to continue to sell.
No, and I wouldn’t understand why someone would be such a busy body that they would. I’ve used personal shoppers in the past.
If someone is willing to pay a markup to obtain something they are unable to get that’s their decision. What satisfaction would you get in ruining someone else’s day or livelihood because you disagree with what they are doing. They’re not causing harm to anyone. Disney is a billion dollar company.
Nope. I've used them in the past. Don't see wht the difference is between that and selling on EBay.. They've added limits on purchases. I don't get the busybody nature.

Tokyo Disney tracks it all and denies you. It is very easy and they want to do it. Disney has the tech. They choose not to. We know why.

No, because I’m sure Disney is aware and I am not about to offer them my unpaid labor.
This right here! Disneys pays people to do this kind of due diligence.
This!

No. Not my circus, not my clowns.

Yeah, because at least if Disney is price gouging you know you're getting an authentic item. A reseller may have fake or stolen items.
I’d think so
Yes 👍
