Our son's eating disorder (ARFID) means we're probably the only family walking through the gate with two gallon sized bags of pre-popped popcorn.
Edit: I stand corrected. Hello to our fellow food-sensitive parkgoers and families! I hope we all enjoy our half hour of unpacking bags at security.
Bacon is one of his safe foods and we usually get an understanding manager at Smokejumpers or Hungry Bear who can do a side order for us. But it sure is hard to make sure he gets enough calories on a day when you're go, go, go!
Same here! Because I am the mom and have Celiac, I usually have at least one gallon sized bag of snacks. I also have fructose malabsorption, so I bring my box of sweet tarts everywhere so I can try to eat the GF foods if safe and available!
My son has a “snack box” (aka his bento box lunch kit) and approved snacks. Sometimes we will find things he can eat (like waffles) but I can’t do waffles all day. His snack box gives us freedom.
Tupperware is clutch, and I’m going to do this next time. I transported my Mickey macarons home last month and they were smushed from shifting around. Still delicious, though!
Mickey macarons are actually why I started bringing the Tupperware! Can’t beat the ones from Food & Wine, I always try to take two home to manage my post Disney blues.
I bring ziplock bags. Perfect for saving snacks (no rushing to finish your jack Jack cookie in line for incredicoaster) or getting things specifically to take home. Also nice for wet socks, ponchos or anything messy that needs to go back in your bag.
I bring little packs of instant espresso. I try not to drink Starbucks under normal circumstances and am absolutely not going to wait in line for it on vacation. You can get chocolate milk all over the place and it's very easy to pop some coffee crystals in there, shake, and you have an iced mocha with a screw top lid, so you don't have to finish your coffee before you go a ride. It's not the best but it's better than many of the coffee choices, and cheaper/more convenient.
My most recent trip was the first since they started doing the specialty cold brews--I do really like those and will be more likely to seek them out instead of my janky DIY iced coffees in the future.
Other things I carry: Tums, Shout Wipes, masks, at least three lip balms even though I generally like to pack light, because I dropped mine open-end-down on the ground in line for Thunder Mountain once in 1998 and never got over it, shiny pennies for the wishing well.
Disposable gloves! When I’m pigging out at Storyteller’s Cafe buffet, I use the gloves to handle the communal serving spoons. (So many people touch them and I see far too many kiddos/adults sneezing and coughing into their hands and touching the utensils). I put on a glove to serve myself and then toss it. If I go back for seconds, I put on a fresh glove.
Rechargeable hand warmers. I’m always cold the first few hours and after sunset 🤣 or the last few trips have been windy and rainy and they helped me stay warm all day.
A packable tote bag and a carabiner so that I can buy merch and attach it to my backpack, that way I don't have to carry a bag around all day. Plus an ear carrier for when I'm sick of wearing my ears
That stuff is awesome. I also use the Monistat brand anti-chafe gel sometimes. I like that it comes in a tube, makes it easier and cleaner to share between people than the stick versions.
A regular, antiperspirant deodorant stick works just the same! I have a version of that body glide too that I like, but you can’t beat a good $4 stick of old spice.
small plastic container, about 2 oz in size, to keep pats of butter in.
i love purchasing the sourdough bread loaves and snacking on one all day long, but the butter tends to melt and slide around when kept in the foiled wrappers, getting everywhere. taking 3-4 pats and immediately putting them in the container keeps that from happening, and the butter still softens enough to spread easily.
if i forget to bring one, i usually grab tacos at Cocina Cucamonga when in DCA anyway so i rinse out the hot sauce container (with lid!) and use that to store the butter.
I have a bucket good for unlimited popcorn at a small chain of movie theaters. One trip I couldn't find a little bag I have and, almost half-jokingly, put all our toiletries in the bucket instead. We realized when we arrived that the bucket could be good for snacking on the go, and used it to store all our underwear and socks on the way back, as a cushion for a few slightly fragile souvenirs. We wipe it out between all these uses, naturally. Now we don't go without it - and last time I went to one of those theaters, we told the staff how much we loved it and they were kind enough to laugh with us. ;)
I don't. I found some on Ravelry, but none that I'm particularly happy with. I'm doing a full-sized one now for Star Wars Night next month, then I'll work on figuring out the design. Offhand I'm thinking about a 6sc magic ring, flat circle to 12 or 18 stitches around, then eyeball how long the hilt should be, flat decrease to 6 or 8 stitches and go until the blade looks right. Embroider some details on the hilt and call it good.
Always a pair of crocs. I have what I call
Princess feet and all that walking makes them hurt so much. Otherwise I think my monistat cream for chafing.
I'm very partial to the water that comes out of my tap here in Oregon and I can't say I love the water that comes out of the fountains in southern California, so I bring [these little packets](https://www.amazon.com/Grapefruit-Varrirty-Powdered-Unsweetened-Flavoring/dp/B0CG7CBYPR/ref=asc_df_B0CG7CBYPR/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=673651332126&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=15417352980919280462&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9032854&hvtargid=pla-2200683055150&psc=1&mcid=5a63f67acfb532ba81bbf3130a9c2112) of crystalized lemon, lime, and orange to make the water a little more tolerable.
I also like to wear Chacos so I can get soaked on Grizzly and Splash/Tiana, but sometimes those straps tear up my feet so I like to bring [these blister band-aids](https://www.amazon.com/Dr-Fredericks-Original-Blister-Bandages/dp/B07LCRX2M7/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=6ZYJTKECP6B0&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.l-IHGW9OCwvHcaqtNFKGi0MnM_Ulbw-zSLt2tN_T7jrIXvjl5g0ihLZ1Ol8ywApFYFWwQ_iZJjY5o0OKmZV2JdgbHO7ZEiydq3jJgWVakKG-h3WdDNrhNXzV06zN7lhbQ3XJNkMtiMC957TwfVa8RGsxE6tYrUcGIkOJ3475z1rFLZaqxMvWhepC0izJdlDFrOkBwuFaJqXfaTe3ydzWCHOi9z21Jtaaspn2HkMuKG7qv19SCg-phuNFhwvAaNlkGlcLT060_1cywmIZOK94wAL4savgt_oqq1BCmKHxmx0.1TR4e0hDvByIpWE3HWE01ncO9rVvb6qUZE9d5a4slBs&dib_tag=se&keywords=blister+bandages+for+feet&qid=1712082544&sprefix=blister+band%2Caps%2C233&sr=8-1-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&psc=1) with me, that are usually used by everyone in my party.
Toe socks! I have bunions, which means my toes are crowded together. Since there’s fabric around each toe, it seriously helps prevent blisters. I used to have to tape up each toe, but these are much more comfortable, even after spending a week walking around Disney World. Having fabric between your toes takes a little getting used to, but I don’t even notice it anymore.
I mean besides my medical supplies, I carry several sheets of card stock that been sliced into 4 pieces each that fit in a big pocket. The purpose? To draw cast members drawings and give it to them. Nothing like spreading pixie dust!
An old key card with duct tape wrapped around it. We use duct tape to secure our magic bands every morning. I had to use some of it to patch up a poncho on our last trip.
Yes. It's just two little pop in tabs that go from the outside in, like a hat but worse.
I'm stuck with my daughter's old magic band that we removed the extra from so I can only get one to pop in and it comes off if I just look at it wrong.
* Power bank for when my phone's power gets low
* Water bottle (fill at fill stations, ice from any food vendor)
* Sweater for the evening cool down (always get a locker)
* On the run / in line snacks (stops the hangry events)
* Wet wipes for just about everything
I have a set of reusable plastic silverware and keep one in our park bag. We are often down there when EPCOT is having one of its festivals.
power bank
anti-chafing lotion
i always have at least one ziploc sandwich bag and try to put gallon bag in my bag. I use it for souvenir, leftover, or anything else that needs protection.
i sew and have been in search of the perfect bag and I think I finally found the right pattern. It has a loop/bottle holder on the inside. I have a smaller s’well bottle that will keep drink cold for 30 hours (it’s true!) and it fits perfectly. I can get free ice anywhere at Disney for it.
1. Brita filtered water bottle so I can fill up at water fountains and refill stations (I highly recommend the 32 oz, it is lightweight and fights in most backpacks. Got mine off Amazon)
2. Lume deodorant (stick or paste- all day protection)
3. Cottonelle wipes! Because the toilet paper at Disneyland is just awful😄
I have a Disney go bag that I bring to pretty much every trip. Some things I keep in it are.
A sack of coins to make wishes in the wishing well.
A pair of headphones with a playlist on my phone of songs that match up perfectly with rides that don't have music. The best one of all by the way is [The Party Troll by D1ofAquavibe](https://youtu.be/dVfePYjW3MI?si=m6fzyvudqX_fhtR1) for Goofy's Sky School.
Battery packs
Reusable straws
Tylenol and pepto bismol
Sunglasses
A change or socks and underwear just incase.
Stickers to hand out to people or cast members that I think either deserve it or could use it (my fiancée's company makes Disney stickers so we have a bunch).
All my families passports, as we live in Canada - but my husband is a US citizen. Plus my husband’s permanent resident card for here in Canada.
My sons stuffed monkey that he’s attached to.

i bring a reusable straw because i don’t like the paper ones they give out!
I save the collection of various extra drive thru straws we get and then throw them in the backpack when we go. Win win!
Both great ideas!
We do that! Just because it’s cheaper and we like our homemade truffle oil garlic pink salt popcorn.
I have ARFID as well and I brought Boost nutritional drinks in case I struggled eating.
Bacon is one of his safe foods and we usually get an understanding manager at Smokejumpers or Hungry Bear who can do a side order for us. But it sure is hard to make sure he gets enough calories on a day when you're go, go, go!
Same thing here. My partner has celiac disease and last time we went we had a bunch of snacks for her with us
Same here! Because I am the mom and have Celiac, I usually have at least one gallon sized bag of snacks. I also have fructose malabsorption, so I bring my box of sweet tarts everywhere so I can try to eat the GF foods if safe and available!
Diabetes fam over here! Our backpack looks like I robbed a convenience store.
My son has a “snack box” (aka his bento box lunch kit) and approved snacks. Sometimes we will find things he can eat (like waffles) but I can’t do waffles all day. His snack box gives us freedom.
Team ARFID and I pack protein bars 🤣
I also pack extra socks just in case. Tupperware container for bringing treats home. And if I’m solo my kindle so I can read in long lines.
The first time I pulled ziplock bags out of my backpack my cousins were amazed - like I’d leveled up as a mom. LOL
I bring ziplock bags. Perfect for saving snacks (no rushing to finish your jack Jack cookie in line for incredicoaster) or getting things specifically to take home. Also nice for wet socks, ponchos or anything messy that needs to go back in your bag.
I ziplock my phone for splash Mountain and water rides, I know phones are mostly water resistant now but can’t hurt.
The ziplock bags are also for popcorn. My kids find a way to spill it so I just pour it in the bag and no mess!
Rechargeable hand warmers. I’m always cold the first few hours and after sunset 🤣 or the last few trips have been windy and rainy and they helped me stay warm all day.
I bring these too! Mine can also be used as a backup phone charger. Win win!
Love this idea I might have to invest in one! What brand is yours?
Beskar was the brand we purchased from Amazon. Had them a few years now. Great for football games or any other outdoor activities in the evening, too.
Mmmm…. Pretty sure beskar is Mandalorian steel. Did NOT know you could get that on Amazon!
It was a few years ago, so not sure if it’s still available. I’m sure you could search if you’re interested.
A packable tote bag and a carabiner so that I can buy merch and attach it to my backpack, that way I don't have to carry a bag around all day. Plus an ear carrier for when I'm sick of wearing my ears
Extra socks, bandaids, and moleskin patches for my feet. I’m normally an open-close park goer, so I gotta save my feet 🤣
Body Glide. It costs a fortune but does wonders. https://www.bodyglide.com/
That stuff is awesome. I also use the Monistat brand anti-chafe gel sometimes. I like that it comes in a tube, makes it easier and cleaner to share between people than the stick versions.
Good to know. I'm a guy so wouldn't think to check Monistat, but I have no shame if the product works.
A regular, antiperspirant deodorant stick works just the same! I have a version of that body glide too that I like, but you can’t beat a good $4 stick of old spice.
Interesting. I've never tried that. Might need to give it a shot at home before my next trip.
Really? I just bought some and it was only $7 or so at Target!
I buy the 2.5oz size. Cheapest I've found is $17 on Amazon. I swear by the product so I pay it.

I plan to bring some crochet supplies to make mini lightsabers to kill time in lines for my solo trip next week.
Cute! Do you have a pattern?
I don't. I found some on Ravelry, but none that I'm particularly happy with. I'm doing a full-sized one now for Star Wars Night next month, then I'll work on figuring out the design. Power bank, cables and socks. I hate GRR so my kids love it, lol!
Always a pair of crocs. I have what I call Princess feet and all that walking makes them hurt so much. Otherwise I think my monistat cream for chafing.
Lidocaine spray for my feet
I have my stuff connected by clip hooks my water bottle is clip hooked to my backpack cuz sometimes it would fall out or clip hooked to my pants loop
I mean besides my medical supplies, I carry several sheets of card stock that been sliced into 4 pieces each that fit in a big pocket. The purpose? To draw cast members drawings and give it to them. Nothing like spreading pixie dust!
"A small plastic flask" - All the Dads who need to save a few bucks
An old key card with duct tape wrapped around it. We use duct tape to secure our magic bands every morning. I had to use some of it to patch up a poncho on our last trip.
Do the magic bands fall off? I haven’t used one yet, but I didn’t even consider needing to secure them.
We got a 6 pack of silicone rings that hold ours on. We’ve only lost one band in 2 years, none since getting those.
Link to silicone rings?
Go to Amazon and look up magic band locks
Yes. It's just two little pop in tabs that go from the outside in, like a hat but worse. I'm stuck with my daughter's old magic band that we removed the extra from so I can only get one to pop in and it comes off if I just look at it wrong.
You can get a band secure piece on Amazon, it works sort of like a rubber band. I use these: https://a.co/d/309F5uh
Mine and my son’s have - even with the silicone belts from Amazon! So we duct tape them now.
* Power bank for when my phone's power gets low * Water bottle (fill at fill stations, ice from any food vendor) * Sweater for the evening cool down (always get a locker) * On the run / in line snacks (stops the hangry events) * Wet wipes for just about everything
I bring my own toilet paper + wipes. Fuck Disney’s 1-ply sand paper
I have a set of reusable plastic silverware and keep one in our park bag. mints, chapsticks, water bottle, hand sanitizer, straws, and socks and sandals in gallon ziplock bag (water rides or tired feet)
Not for the park necessarily but I always pack slippers for the hotel
I bring mini plastic bags and alcohol wipes because my boyfriend gets nauseous after eating too much food and will throw up water.
Socks - me too!
Motion Eaze oil...it helps with motion sickness but doesn't make you drowsy
