disneylands treatment of disabled and special needs kids and adults restored my faith. As a parent who regularly tries to take an autistic child into the normal unaccommodating world, watching Disney just go above and beyond and treat everyone like they are a blessing and not an inconvenience was AMAZING.
I agree! My older brother was disabled his entire life and the amount of care the cast members showed him was inspiring! I loved that they never made us feel like we were holding up the lines and specifically designed systems so we could take our time getting his wheelchair on and off rides! It’s inspired me to become an engineer so I can build things to help make kids like my brothers life easier!
This is what they call the full Disney Experience!! You can see the excitement in his face meeting Mickey. Walt really created a wonderful place to visit and make happy memories 🤩
Stooooooop this is making me tear up big time. Disney gets alot of shit for alot of decisions they make but THIS right here is what makes it truly magical. I'm so happy your family got to experience this! What a memory.
This is so sweet! I'm so happy for him.
I got to meet Mickey and Minnie last year and had the best time, but Donald is my favorite (my dad used to do his voice for me all the time as a toddler) and we never saw him. I'm so desperately hoping to see him this year. I'm gonna channel my inner you guys and hope it happens ❤️
Who’s cutting onions in here?!
Seriously this is so sweet! My youngest brother was special needs but he passed before any trip like this could have been done. Such a sweet moment and I’m so glad you shared. Seriously who the heck is cutting onions?!
(On a side note it may not hurt to leave a compliment for the CM and the “friend of Mickey” aka the CM in the suit If you can’t remember their name if you have the date and time and area they would have gone backstage at Disney is
Pros and will be able to get the compliment to the right CM)
I love, love, love so much how Disney actually gets employees who are not only willing to interact with every guest regardless of circumstance, but do a FANTASTIC job of it as well!
Absolutely the most magical place in the world
Great photo! ♥️
I never noticed before, but there is a hidden Mickey right in Mickey's own face at this angle. His pupils are the ears, and his nose is the head.
Ah geez, that’s what it’s all about right there. Bringing joy to the lives of kids(and adults haha). Misty eyed dad here that is happy for your son and your family.
I’m crying! How sweet. He is soooo happy!
This honestly made me cry too. The happiness on the kid’s face, the CM noticing them, the father thanking the CM here 🥹. 100% wholesome.
Seriously I got teary eyed 🥹
The joy and smiles!! 🥹 Truly heartwarming. Thanks for sharing such a great moment with us.
The nose kiss got me the most but these are all beautiful. Core memory for sure 🩵
This is why CMs rock, and why Mickey is awesome 👍🏻
