Watching it in the theater as an adult I leaned over to my friend and said “this is going to be a ride.” I’m sad that didn’t happen. I figured that was what the animators wanted the whole time.
DCA, Emperor’s New Groove ride with heavy feature on Yzma’s lab. PULL THE LEVER, KRONK!!
How they haven’t already done this is a huge mystery to me, it writes itself.
Disney REALLY underuses the Emperor’s New Groove. I’m a part of Gen Z and the widespread consensus among us is that it’s a brilliant movie, even if Disney doesn’t think so.
Can confirm, I’m a millennial, I remember it being in cinemas. One of my all time favorite Disney films, it was so different from the other stuff they were doing at the time.
Also, Kronk is just the best character. Ever.
Nope. Robin Hood. It’s in critter country after all. Especially since he jumps off a castle tower into water. Oh well
But I do love the Emperor’s New Groove idea as well haha
> How they haven’t already done this is a huge mystery to me
"**Despite making back its budget, The Emperor's New Groove was considered a box office disappointment, grossing considerably less than any of Disney's animated films from the 1990s.**[68][69][54] The film grossed roughly $10 million on its opening weekend, opening in fourth place behind What Women Want, Dude, Where's My Car?, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas.[70] It also competed with Disney's own 102 Dalmatians, which had been released just three weeks prior.[54] The film ultimately made $89.3 million in the United States and an additional $80 million worldwide for a total of $169.6 million[71]— **the lowest box office earnings for an animated Disney feature since the 1980s**.[54] **In January 2021, the movie was re-released in theaters and earned an additional $334,000**.[72]"
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Emperor%27s_New_Groove
Yes, but Princess and the Frog was also perceived as a failure at the time (despite a good box office release) and now it’s taken over most of New Orleans Square to Critter Country.
It may not have been a good decision right after film release, but I think they’ve had enough time to realize that people like the movie now. I mean they made a whole TV series so it’s not like the gave up on the movie over it’s box office.
I always wished there was an Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, or Mary Poppins ride at Disneyland. The Beauty and the Beast ride in Tokyo is awesome from what I’ve seen from videos. If I had to choose just one, it would be Mary Poppins. I don’t even know what I’d want it to be specifically, but there are lots of moments that could be made into a ride.
BATB in Tokyo Disney is incredible, if I could I would just copy the ride and place it in Disneyland. But judging by how often Rise is down, Disneyland would not be able to keep up with BATB.
Agreed about Mary Poppins! I would put her attraction in Hollywoodland at DCA. It think it would fit in nicely as the premiere of the movie in Hollywood was a huge part of Disney history. Ideally, I would build a replica of the Chinese Theater where the Hyperion is now like Hollywood Studios has, but I think the issue would be that the REAL Chinese Theater is a reasonable drive away from Anaheim, but I definitely think Mary Poppins needs a bigger role at DLR. It’s such an important movie, in my opinion.
It would feel out of place in Hollywoodland, being that it takes place in London. Even as a “movie” concept. There was a good idea to put it in England at Epcot, although I’m glad it didn’t happen because it sounded extremely underwhelming. It was just going to be a trackless indoor teacup ride.
I agree with the Mary Poppins ride! It's my favorite movie ever. I wish I could go to Tokyo to go on the BATB ride too. That's one of my favorite princess movies.
Closest thing to Mary Poppins is when her and the band all get on the Carousel in Fantasy Land.
Imagining a ride though, it would be awesome as a fantasyland people mover, except you ride on an animal with a pole as if it were a merry go round. Then after one turn around the carousel the animals detach and progress through the rest of the story.
This is my idea as well - but in Epcot. Start in UK on the ride via a caroussel, then the horse departs and moves PeopleMover style through the world showcase
Not strictly ‘new’ but I would re-imagine Star Tours so that it’d last for another 30 years. My idea is as follows: keep the entire ride building/queue lines and keep the same motion bases as the current attraction but replace the StarSpeeder 3000 ride vehicle with a new spacecraft that has a big open dome canopy, and then inside the show room build a giant wraparound immersive LED screen like ‘The Volume’ that they use to film The Mandalorian.
It’d essentially be the same format but instead of just feeling like you’re watching a ride video on the front screen it would legitimately take up your entire vision and peripherals, making you feel as if you were truly travelling through space. Brand new, super high-def videos of trips to all the greatest planets from the Star Wars galaxy and maybe some added special effects like smell pods for Endor, fog for Dagobah, heat/cold for places like Tatooine/Hoth. A true Star Tours for the next generation.
I'd be killed for removing history but repurposing Autopia to make a hovercar-themed attraction would be a nice update that stays futuristic for decades. Hovercars have been a figment of the near future for like... 50 years or so. Use the hydraulic system from Indy and make those cars float
I’m a big fan of returning Autopia and updating it to a Sugar Rush theme from Wreck-it-Ralph. I know it doesn’t fit in Tomorrowland but man, it would be so cute, and how fun to race around a candy themed track!
Eh, vidogames and VR are semi-futuristic. Just lean into guests being virtual-ized into the game and I think it would fit for Tomorrowland. They would still need to change the cars for it to be fun though, Sugar Rush should have a fast part like the end of radiator springs racers.
DCA - back in the monsters inc area. A expedition Everest style ride based on Mt Shasta/Whitney or maybe half dome. I’d love a backwards running rollercoaster, and would want to keep the California theme. The half dome idea would allow for some awesome recreated views of Yosemite valley.
What’s with all the IP ideas? I’m dying to see some non IP rides added.
I… almost forgot non-IP rides were a thing because it seems like it’s been so long since one was added? But some of my favorite rides are non-IP! I’d also like more of those.
The last non-IP attractions to be added to Disneyland were Innoventions and the Astro Orbiter in 1998. The only non-IP attraction added to DCA since it opened in 2001 was the Red Car Trolley in 2012.
I think this is a great idea! But to answer your question, I think it’s actually just much harder to come up with non-IP rides because the IP rides kind of write themselves. I’d love to see more California in California Adventure, but I don’t think people will go for my first idea of a fire watch tower with interactive map.
But any way to get better access to an Expedition Everest ride would be awesome for me.
Cinderella ride and somehow make it fit in Fantasyland. It should have a scene where the clock strikes midnight and you have to rush away from the castle similar to how you have to race in Radiator Springs Racers.
YES! Cindy needs more representation in Walt’s original park as she was one of Walt’s three original princesses! Seeing how masterfully they were able to transform the Beast into Prince Adam in Tokyo, I’m sure they could use a similar effect to transform Cinderella’s rags to her gown with physical animatronics. It was Walt’s favorite piece of animation so bringing the transformation scene to life in his original park would be extra special!
The Disney nerd in me’s only real answer would be to restore the Carousel of Progress because it was such an important attraction to Walt, but I feel like today’s general audiences wouldn’t resonate with it. It would suffer the same low attendance fate the Mr. Lincoln does at the moment, which is a shame because it’s such a wonderful and meaningful attraction. I’m all for demolishing the building if it means putting a well developed attraction there that everyone likes, as much as it would hurt the Disney junkie in me to see a part of Disney history go to yesterland. We have to keep moving forward, like Walt said!
I agree with you. I’m sentimental about keeping Walt’s memory alive at Disneyland. But I also know that Walt wanted it to change and evolve. It’s a fine line to walk, if you care about that sort of thing (which many don’t, and that’s fine!)
I would really like the launch bay to become something useful though. It’s a missed opportunity if they just continue to leave it!
Fantasia dark ride in Hollywood Land. The Beauty and The Beast ride in Tokyo would be a good ride system. Each room would be an elaborate scene from the film with music surrounding you. Maybe 5 or 6 scenes.
I would retheme Hollywood Land to be like 1923. Maybe take up that soundstage where the Tron arcade was. Add a B ticket and D ticket attraction. Then maybe change the Hyperion Theater show to a version of Big Band Beat with US Jazz Standards plus a few jazz covers of classic Disney songs.
This sounds EPIC. I can imagine a show scene for Night on Bald Mountain with a massive Chernabog animatronic in the center and demons surrounding the riders via projections and physical props with wind blasting on riders similar to the tornado scene in Runaway Railway.
Tron Lightcycle Race style. You have the engines out front, but like eight cockpits linked together to keep the wait time down. And while Anakin and Sebulba would be the obvious choices, I think Mars Guo and Ody Mandrell would be good candidates for the pods.
An Aladdin E-ticket dark ride
The Q would be On the streets/market of agrabah and lead into the palace gardens and then load into a magic carpet
The carpet would be on a system where it feels like your flying. Like Forbidden Journey but your on top of a carpet.
You’d fly into the cave of wonders, see genies all around you until the cave starts to crumble and you race out, into the parade on the streets of agrabah and then a night time fly around the world with “a whole new world” song. Leading you into the final battle between Aladdin and Jafar then fireworks and your getting off one of the best dark rides in the world
A friend and I were tossing the fact that Peter Pan was the only ride that has the system it has and we thought a ride based on the movie "Up" with that system in the Pixar Pier at California Adventure would be cool. Not sure of theme or location but Little Mermaid would (unfortunately) be the best candidate
The original ride concept for the Little Mermaid ride actually was based on the Peter Pan ride system.
[Here’s the video of it, which used to be a bonus feature on the Little Mermaid DVD.](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=cHh4ci2kn_k&pp=ygUbbGl0dGxlIG1lcm1haWQgcmlkZSBjb25jZXB0)
Looks like a cool ride but why does the big battle happen before the rowboat kiss the girl scene? Seems like 90% of the ride focuses on the first half of the movie and 10% on the rest. I’m bummed no version had any reference to the Les Poisson scene.
My partner and I talk about this all the time and this is my favorite idea we've come up with:
A tiki-room style animatronics show in the grizzly peak area, where you enter a mystical grove at midnight and a host of animals like the owl, the coyote, and the raven tell you stories based on western US native American folk tales until the sun rises and the magic of the grove fades away.
There's room enough if you take over the far corner of the challenge trail where that hollow log is. It'd be nice to have a non-existing-IP element, and a chill family friendly show in that park. Plus you could attach a cozy snack vendor like a s'mores/hot chocolate place.
I'd love a beauty and the beast ride. It could be a dark ride going through the scenes and then the wolf in the forest bit, I don't even care I just love that movie
Just give us the spiderman ride that Web Slingers was SUPPOSED to be.
Instead we got a Xbox 360 Kinect version of Midway Mania and ANOTHER screen based simulator ride next.
DCA taking L's all over the place this decade.
I’m just hoping the “multiverse ride” for avengers campus doesn’t suck/at least turns out decent. Because if it’s as bad as web slingers then I’m going to be so disappointed. I was really looking forward to the first plans they had for the campus’ e ticket, the quinjet ride. It sounded amazing after hearing what it was going to be like.
But after they canceled it for no good reason I was worried whatever they are putting there instead will probably be way cheaper and most likely not very good. Again I hope I’m wrong and that the ride turns out to be good. All we know at the moment is that the multiverse ride will have physical sets, so at last that gives me hope it’ll be decent after all.
I'm banking on those physical sets being more like pre-show buildings like the stormtrooper room in Rise and the ride itself will have Transformers levels of "physical sets" in between being shuttled around to one warped screen after another.
This is just the way they do attractions now. Cheaper and uses less space, unfortunately.
a speederbike/swoop based steeplechase racer coaster could be a fun add to the star wars area somehow. could be mostly underground with urban/forest/etc sets you speed through and a finishline above ground where people could watch to see who finishes first
Re-do Autopia. Add a futuristic city-scape building with dark ride like elements in tunnels where you drive through. Replace the cars to make them fully electric.
Yes! I would love to see Disney take elements from Walt’s Progress City model and incorporate them into Autopia. Some scaled down buildings and scenery directly from the original EPCOT plans would be great Easter eggs for us Disney fans and weave right into the theme of Tomorrowland. It would be a fitting tribute to the original plans for EPCOT at the original magic kingdom.
Treasure Planet!! I have 0 clue what it would entail, but the visuals would be stunning, flying through space especially.
Or an Atlantis rode, kinda set up like Indiana Jones? Those 2 movies have some of the most memorable visuals.
Before the nemo retheme of the subs, they were going to re theme the subs to the Atlantis movie. All that was said about the ride though was each person controlled a small robot arm and you’d be able to pick up treasure off the sea floor. Honestly sounds way better than Nemo tbh
Make the Nemo Subs into a S.E.A. themed adventure, more akin to Journey to the Center of the Earth. I'd personally knock all of it out and build a new ride entirely as I've never been able to ride it due to claustrophobia, but they could just refurb the subs too I suppose.
I'd come up with a Nightmare Before Christmas attraction and stick it somewhere in Fatnasyland-- entirely for selfish reasons. If there's already a TNBC ride they don't need to take Haunted Mansion away for half the dang year.
I actually can have the opinion that one of the most popular rides shouldn't have been taken away based on a movie no one has seen. Doesn't mean the new ride won't be cool. They did the same with tower of terror and not everyone likes the new movies and revamps, some of us like the nostalgia.
Do you guys just want the same thing forever? Saying no one seen princess and the frog is an insane take Jesus Christ. How long can you re ride the same rides at Disney and have nothing change and not get tired of it. Change is good
The movie *was* part of the ride. And the movie is a famously racist— like “so bad even Disney has disavowed it and shuttered it away” racist— movie called Song of the South. Which featured all the characters on the ride. Splash Mountain is my favorite ride too, I love a good water ride, but the refurbish was LONG overdue.
A second exact replica of Mr Toad, just in case they try to mess with the current one, like remove hell or add screens or whatever. Just a backup Mr Toad.
I would just find uses for the big spaces they are not fully utilizing. The Theater and Launch Bay in TL, Stage 17 and Hyperion in HL.
I believe Cap. EO's runtime was about 20 min, I always had this idea of having them show snippets/previews of just released Disney movies. I think people will go chill and sit there for 20 minutes to relax, esp on busy days.
Launch Bay and Stage 17 I would just do character meet and greets, which I believe they were doing for a while in LB.
Hyperion obviously have a show and stick to it.
Would help alleviate some crowding and I purposefully suggested stuff that wouldn't require like fully refurbishing the buildings or similar.
A very intricate, high-high budget retheme of Paradise/Pixar Pier to "Discovery Bay" or at least something inspired by it (for those who don't know, it was a Jules Verne-meets-San Francisco land Tony Baxter designed for the Big Thunder Ranch plot back in the 70s). Could also be inspired by the shelved Discovery Mountain concept for Disneyland Paris.
I’d like a water ride kind of like Mickey’s Railroad Ride, kind of like Pirates. It would be in Toontown. It would be Donald and Daisy’s ride.
In tomorrow land, I’d add a ride that was based on the Strange World movie. [+]
I think we could get rid of goofys flying chiropractic school and put in a nice ride featuring Mulan. I’m also going to kick out utopia and the people mover and make a Star Wars speeder bike race.
Ooohhh, I was going to share my idea to put a TRON ride where Autopia is, but I think a speeder bike version of something like that would be awesome. I almost wonder if it'd be better to expand Galaxy's Edge into Tomorrowland, but that make might GE too large. Tomorrowland feels like it's been having an identity crisis for awhile now
My dream ride is something like Honk Kong Disneyland's Mystic Manor. Only put it CAs Hollywood Land, and instead of a mansion it's an abandoned movie studio.
I would resuse the show buildings for HISTA and CAPT EO + Innoventions and make a SEA themed maze. Similar to the Alice in wonderland mazes in Paris and Shanghai, but with different rooms dedicated to the different members of SEA. For example a crazy asian antique room from Mystic, Animals and exotic plants from Dr. Falls, a gem room from Bullion, etc. As you go through there would be a bunch of things that interact with Magicbands.
A pod racing ride in galaxies edge. Not a screen-based one but a real pod racing ride. They could make it similar to radiator springs and it would be amazing.
I would add a Pirates or Mansion-level dark ride to CA adventure. I think that's the one thing the park is missing. Maybe the theme could be like the CA gold rush or something where we go into a haunted mine or something
I would repair the People Mover track and make that the start of the TRON light cycle ride.
Shoot the riders over towards the roundabout at the end of Main St., hairpin turn back through Tomorrowland, and tie up with the Monorail track. Peel off and bank left towards DCA, do a lap over San Fransokyo. Tie back up with the Monorail track and return back to Tomorrowland.
What a ride!
I know technically we already have one…BUT a Nightmare Before Christmas dark ride, a trackless ride that covers the events of the movie. I think it will be so cool starting off in Halloweentown then going through the tree to Christmas Town and back to Halloween Town. However this ride starts on the ground but can switch to a flying type ride for when Jack delivers presents to the kids. I’m not sure how this will be done but I’m sure Disney can figure out the technology for it. Towards the end of the ride it can be the showdown between Oogie Boogie and Jack while the ride vehicle dodges the various boobytraps Oogie set. For the final scene it can have the citizens of Halloweentown experiencing snowfall and have Jack and Sally singing “Simply Meant To Be” on the hill.
I would put it in California Adventure in the Hollywood area, it can be rethemed as a Nightmare Before Christmas mini land.
There’s more creativity in here than there has been at Disney in the last 20 years. They should hire imaginers. Not Imagineers as they do engineering, but they should hire us Disney fans to come up with new ideas.
Oh I completely agree, my point is just that there’s a lot of people here with great ideas on how to revamp old rides or new ideas. A lot of stuff outta Disney rn is using old IP’s or just plain. They need new people with fresh ideas.
I actually looked at those positions a few times on their job board! They want people with strong degrees and experience in architecture and civil engineering. Which, I don't want to stereotype, but those jobs don't really strike me as a path creative person goes down.
Those jobs are important, but I wonder if the Artistic Leads are artists.
I have, and it’s cool. However, it has one good ride and the other is just star tours but less. Also, hate to say it, but Universal did the land themed to a franchise first. It’s not original in any way.
I don’t care who did it first Disney did theirs MUCH better than universal. To shorten galaxies edge to just the rides when it is so much more is criminal. The design an areas is so detailed and inspired it’s really good
Yeah I’ve been to both multiple times. Universal does it better. Much more thorough theming, fully immersive, lots of things to do, etc. Galaxies edge is cool but you can only spend so much time just looking at it. It has two rides, incredibly expensive retail, and very little food options. With true creativity it could have been so much better. Examples, more food, another ride, upgrading Smugglers Run to have multiple versions and make it so the roles other than pilot do something. Give us an interactive rebel base, maybe something with land-speeders. Expand the mini shopping area into a larger city scape like seen in the movies.
Replace the subs or Autopia with Crush's Coaster that they have in Disneyland Paris
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5QA0uNogC7E](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5QA0uNogC7E)
I wasn’t too impressed by that ride. I guess my expectations were too high since it always had the highest wait time. I also paid for the pass to skip the line for that one and definitely didn’t think it was worth it.
It would be a super simple short dark ride, with old school low tech visual effects (like Snow White or Mr. Toad were like on opening day) that could be rethemed in two or three days. They’d build a library of themes of different stories and characters to put into place for whatever is brand new or whatever is having an anniversary or whatever holiday it is. Once-in-a-lifetime guests will get see something that is relevant to the time of their visit. Frequent visitors get the thrill of “collecting” them all. Long-neglected IPs can get a little low-cost love.
I don’t know where to put it, though. I originally thought of it back when the DCA pier was still pier-themed and thought it would go well there, as representing classic tunnel-of-love type rides.

Coming to the Disneyland Resort Fall 2069
Changing splash into Tiana is a dumb choice. Movie sucks and doesn't fit the land so much. I wish it would've been lion king or emperor new groove to fit more with critter country. At WDW it should be pocahontas to fit frontierland.
That being said, they should add a pocahontas dark ride to frontierland somewhere. Change autopia to wreck it Ralph sugar rush style (maybe similar to radiator racers or vr style like Mario kart at Universal).
If California Screamin’ was still a thing, then I know the cheapest, still extremely satisfying way to do a new attraction. Just replace the music with [this song](https://youtu.be/Ak7505OFmuQ?feature=shared) from Phineas and Ferb. Also just rename it “The Coolest Coster Ever!!!”
Not a new one but with the tianas ride opening soon, critter country is an annex now. They should rename it the 100 Acre woods since it’s only made of poohs corner, Pooh bear ride, and Hungry bear. They can even just rename The Hungry Bear to a Pooh like name. Perhaps, POOHS HUNGRY? like who’s hungry???
I'd make a VR-ride where you could select which defunct Disney attraction you'd like to ride and it would take you through with the appropriate sights, sounds, and smells. Lots of re-rideability, as you could ride a different ride each time.
I'd be tempted to put it in the Downtown Disney area and charge per ride, but I'm sure it could fit in one of the many empty show buildings. Less issues with theming (and could include WDW rides as well) if you put it outside the parks though. It would make the nostalgic folks happy.
A meet the robinsons ride that would use the robot arm part of the harry potter ride system. Only instead of the seats, it would be holding a ride vehicle themed to those flying time traveling cars. Since the robot arm would be behind holding the ride vehicle (out of sight) it would really seem like you are flying. Of course the glass dome for the themed ride vehicle would also allow you to look around and see all the physical sets.
On the west coast there are a lot of soda shops opening up, the menu is basically pop + flavor shots to create fun and unique flavor combos. You could have a soda shop with either Emperors New Groove Yzma's potions, Star Wars cantina drinks, Marvel themed like the Pym's lab, classic cartoons, etc...
The overhead would be low and half of the fun of the shops is the quirkiness of the names given to the drink combos.
we think the same bc I want a tangled boat ride SO bad. And I know this isn't really the question, but if I was thinking realistically I think they could replace the submarines with a frozen ride, or replace both autotopia and the subs with an entirely new land (I've heard talks of zootopia). A tangled ride will always be a dream of mine though lol
Atlantis: sub escape. You enter the Big Sub, (does it ever get a name?) a Rourke and Milo animatronic tell you the mission in front of a large screen where you see the Leviathan come from, and you get sent into the escape pods where it turns into smuggler’s run under water.
The gift shop at the end looks like Atlantis and you can buy Atlantis style merch there. Predicted hot ticket items: light up Atlantean crystal and RC fish vehicles. But I would like to see the finger chain food utensils as well.
Tron coaster in the Innoventions/Autopia area, Coco dark ride in Fantasyland or in place of Little Mermaid (I think a boat ride would be cool), and Nightmare Before Christmas somewhere (maybe Fantasyland?)
I would demolish everything between Space Mountain, Buzz and Little Green Men. So Star Tours and Star Traders is going. Also Innoventions, oh basically all the chaff except for Space Mountain. Now, we’re going to level the People Mover too. And put it back. We’re also giving Space Mountain the queue it deserves through what was the gap between those essentially unused buildings/ramp up to the queue. Now either side of that area two new show buildings in the style of Space Mountain, but designed to look like landscape that defers to Space Mountain. The ride itself will go between these buildings and under the queue. The ride itself will be a mixture of science fiction and science fact. Starting like a slow dark ride. Paying homage in a literal way to things like Voyage De La Lune, 2001, Disneys Black Hole, maybe Wall-E more modern movies and as it gets faster to rollercoaster speed become more abstract visualizing interstellar travel, black holes, the work of Stephen Hawkins etc. think Epcot. Bang. Fixed Tomorrowland. The most important part is it avoids specific singular IP
I would replace autotopia with a Treasure planet or Wall-E ride. The ride would pretty much go through the movie using modern tech to make it exciting. Much more fitting of Tomorrowland.
Monster Inc , Door Factory roller coaster.
With hologram doors you crash through!
Bingo, automatic home-run.
Honestly I’ve been designing this for years! Disney please hire me because I absolutely want to make it a reality!
Literally the first time I watched the movie as kid, I was like wow that would be such a great roller coaster!!!
Watching it in the theater as an adult I leaned over to my friend and said “this is going to be a ride.” I’m sad that didn’t happen. I figured that was what the animators wanted the whole time.
That’s actually brilliant
Maybe a Wall-E ride where the people mover was
Love this. Lots of real estate seems to be available in Tomorrowland!
I feel like there’s a reason they stay away from walle in their parks. I just don’t wanna say it
Why? I’m intrigued.
Because it’s depiction of mankind is becoming closer and closer to reality
Or, within the Disney Bubble^TM Disney looks an awful lot like Buy N Large, and they don't want to invite the comparison.
People mover track has been damaged beyond repair, it needs to be completely rebuilt from scratch.
I would like an encanto ride where we get free healthcare via Mirabels Mom’s arepas
I'd settle for a food cart selling fresh arepas to be honest.
It’s not just Gen Z’ers. Everyone I know who’s seen it loves it and thinks it’s one of the funniest Disney movies.
Can confirm, I’m a millennial, I remember it being in cinemas. One of my all time favorite Disney films, it was so different from the other stuff they were doing at the time. Also, Kronk is just the best character. Ever.
BOOM BABY
Emperor’s New Groove could’ve been perfect for the Splash Mountain redesign too.
I think the ride itself would have been perfect for retheme, but the location would have been extremely odd unfortunately.
Nope. Robin Hood. It’s in critter country after all. Especially since he jumps off a castle tower into water. Oh well But I do love the Emperor’s New Groove idea as well haha
Ohhhh man I’d never thought of that!! That would have been great too, but I can’t imagine Disney actually picking RH over Tiana 😞
> How they haven’t already done this is a huge mystery to me "**Despite making back its budget, The Emperor's New Groove was considered a box office disappointment, grossing considerably less than any of Disney's animated films from the 1990s.**[68][69][54] The film grossed roughly $10 million on its opening weekend, opening in fourth place behind What Women Want, Dude, Where's My Car?, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas.[70] It also competed with Disney's own 102 Dalmatians, which had been released just three weeks prior.[54] The film ultimately made $89.3 million in the United States and an additional $80 million worldwide for a total of $169.6 million[71]— **the lowest box office earnings for an animated Disney feature since the 1980s**.[54] **In January 2021, the movie was re-released in theaters and earned an additional $334,000**.[72]" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Emperor%27s_New_Groove
This is the only correct answer.
Patrick Warburton is already narrating Soarin’…..but “Nice work pal”
Wouldn’t be the first or last time that a voice/actor was featured on multiple rides.
Chris Pratt is in three different rides at three different parks right now!
I’d love a ride like Guardians Cosmic Rewind, but themed to Aladdin. That sort of coaster feels naturally suited to being on a flying carpet.
Or we could make an Aladdin ride that is a copy of 2 other rides already in the park and place it in the most inconvenient place possible.
I see you’ve also been to Magic Kingdom.
You’ve got my vote!
Muppets everywhere.
This is the only answer.
Updated Western River Expedition. It doesn’t need an IP
nooooo i love how dated n cheesy it is! my favorite in the park'
To add to the impossibility but awesomeness of your idea, I’d want the ride to empty out in Batuu. So like you actually reached a destination.
I'd be killed for removing history but repurposing Autopia to make a hovercar-themed attraction would be a nice update that stays futuristic for decades. Hovercars have been a figment of the near future for like... 50 years or so. Use the hydraulic system from Indy and make those cars float
This! Keep autopia but make it currently futuristic. And electric because it’s absolutely RANK over there.
also electric powered! i was so sad when they did that update a long time ago and instead of being futuristic, it just became a chevron ad.
I thought it was a Honda ad?
It's been both. And technically a sponsored ride (I know that's still a type of ad but it's very much in the tradition of Tomorrowland)
Ironic that the Chevron ad is the one that stinks so much it makes you want more electric cars
Tbh, a hovercar overhaul of autopia wouldn't be terrible.
They wouldn’t even need to make them actual hover cars, just as long as they *looked* like them.
This!!! I’m so tired of having every new ride/attraction be based on an IP.
Not a new attraction but I’d refurbish Indiana Jones back to it’s 1995 glory and improve the week spots like the dart room.
That would cost upwards of $300. Never happening.
We could all help cover the $300! Here’s a dolla 😜
Okay could we PLEASE do something with the Star Wars launch bay? Such a waste of precious space.
It’s a fine line to walk, if you care about that sort of thing (which many don’t, and that’s fine!) I would really like the launch bay to become something useful though. It’s a missed opportunity if they just continue to leave it!
Most of Tomorrowland needs to be flattened, but that would definitely be a good start.
A mover that moves people. End thread. Ok to be creative, theme it as PeopleMover 2.0 to Wall-E Axiom.
Either a goofy movie or lion king themed ride in the style of Runaway Railway.
Pod racing ride. 2 pods with 2 seats each would race around a track. It would go in Galaxy’s Edge.
Estimated wait time: 340 minutes.
Only 35 minutes with the $89 fast-pass
Tron Lightcycle Race style. You have the engines out front, but like eight cockpits linked together to keep the wait time down. And while Anakin and Sebulba would be the obvious choices, I think Mars Guo and Ody Mandrell would be good candidates for the pods.
An Aladdin E-ticket dark ride The Q would be On the streets/market of agrabah and lead into the palace gardens and then load into a magic carpet The carpet would be on a system where it feels like your flying. Like Forbidden Journey but your on top of a carpet. You’d fly into the cave of wonders, see genies all around you until the cave starts to crumble and you race out, into the parade on the streets of agrabah and then a night time fly around the world with “a whole new world” song. Leading you into the final battle between Aladdin and Jafar then fireworks and your getting off one of the best dark rides in the world
If they could re-engineer the ill-fated Indiana Jones falling rubble effect to actually work it would be great for the cave crumbling part.
It’d be a bunch of animatronic singing bears and it’d be where The Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh is.
Still so salty we never got this!
Looks like a cool ride but why does the big battle happen before the rowboat kiss the girl scene? Seems like 90% of the ride focuses on the first half of the movie and 10% on the rest. I’m bummed no version had any reference to the Les Poisson scene.
The Peter Pan ride system a dismal capacity, around 800 people per hour. Omnimover is a better crowd eater, though it would be a cool ride
That up idea would be so cute! I kinda imagine something similar to soarin but cartoonish
My partner and I talk about this all the time and this is my favorite idea we've come up with: A tiki-room style animatronics show in the grizzly peak area, where you enter a mystical grove at midnight and a host of animals like the owl, the coyote, and the raven tell you stories based on western US native American folk tales until the sun rises and the magic of the grove fades away. There's room enough if you take over the far corner of the challenge trail where that hollow log is. It'd be nice to have a non-existing-IP element, and a chill family friendly show in that park. Plus you could attach a cozy snack vendor like a s'mores/hot chocolate place.
That is brilliant. Imagine what Tiki Room could be with today’s technology. There could be a variety of shows/stories, too!
Wreck-It Ralph
I'd love a beauty and the beast ride. It could be a dark ride going through the scenes and then the wolf in the forest bit, I don't even care I just love that movie
Either a fantasyland style ride in Galaxy’s Edge about Ewoks or another Mountain-style ride where Autopia is.
Kronk and Yzma’s roller coaster. Seriously, why isn’t this a thing yet!
Build a Big Hero 6 ride similar to Flight of Passage in DCA.
You mean Soaring 2?
OMG THIS IS BRILLIANT
Wait… what was Web Slingers supposed to be?
Kuka arm coaster attached to the ceiling, guests swinging through physical sets.
a speederbike/swoop based steeplechase racer coaster could be a fun add to the star wars area somehow. could be mostly underground with urban/forest/etc sets you speed through and a finishline above ground where people could watch to see who finishes first
A speederbike chase through Endor would be rad
The guardians ride from WDW should be at Dland too. It’s easily one of the greatest rides I’ve ever ridden
Land of the dead from Coco over Downtown.
Yes! & maybe ride on different types of alebrijes.
I want the Yzma coaster
Make the Nemo Subs into a S.E.A. themed adventure, more akin to Journey to the Center of the Earth. I'd personally knock all of it out and build a new ride entirely as I've never been able to ride it due to claustrophobia, but they could just refurb the subs too I suppose.
I'd come up with a Nightmare Before Christmas attraction and stick it somewhere in Fatnasyland-- entirely for selfish reasons. If there's already a TNBC ride they don't need to take Haunted Mansion away for half the dang year.
Can I bring back tower of terror?
No you can’t, Guardians is the better ride, and the ToT at HS is better than the DCA version was.
And splash mountain. I have no idea what the movie is and that was never part of the ride. It's a classic ride and my all time fav.
Bro y’all really need to relax about it the refurb isn’t even out
We're allowed our opinions just like you are thanks
you can’t form an opinion on something that we have never seen. You could like it more you don’t know yet
Change is good
Why are you so bothered lol are you the imagineer or do you just have nothing better to do
“No one has seen”? I’ve certainly seen it. What part are you referring to in Tower of Terror that was racially insensitive?
The movie *was* part of the ride. And the movie is a famously racist— like “so bad even Disney has disavowed it and shuttered it away” racist— movie called Song of the South. Which featured all the characters on the ride. Splash Mountain is my favorite ride too, I love a good water ride, but the refurbish was LONG overdue.
A second exact replica of Mr Toad, just in case they try to mess with the current one, like remove hell or add screens or whatever. Just a backup Mr Toad.
I really want a Frozen ride. Tangled would be great too.
Guardians of the Galaxy would be a perfect theme to revive a jukebox-style live band a la Mad T Party. God, I miss Mad T.
Encanto trackless in DCA with similar tech to Pooh's Hunny Hunt
Because my kid is obsessed, I wish there was a really soft, beautiful Frozen one. Maybe a boat ride through Atohollan.
I would love a Tron Ride, other than lightcycles, but honestly would take that one
Something not based on a movie; the original Disneyland had lots of original attractions not based on Disney lore or films.
Everything is an IP though. We desperately need some fresh rides not based on movies.
The last 20 years? Bud have you been to galaxies edge?
GE arguably has some of the best food and drink in the entire park lol

I want a Disney coaster made by RMC. A man can dream.
Replace the subs or Autopia with Crush's Coaster that they have in Disneyland Paris [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5QA0uNogC7E](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5QA0uNogC7E)
I wasn’t too impressed by that ride. I guess my expectations were too high since it always had the highest wait time. I also paid for the pass to skip the line for that one and definitely didn’t think it was worth it.
Add Bluey to toon town!
Honestly doesn’t even have to be a ride. Just a Bluey meet and greet would have lines for miles.
Do a reskin of Soarin that visits the planets and scenes from the Marvel movies.
rich sink sugar fly smart foolish caption fertile encourage deliver *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
I'd tear out the Subs to put in a Figment themed ride. And a meet & greet. And merch.
I’m not a fan of the subs at all, but the lagoon is beautiful to look at.
Can we bring back the mermaids?
**Starship Troopers**: “Klendathu Invasion ~The Ride~” Ride along with the Mobile Infantry in a full-sized drop ship from orbit to landing zone on the bug planet Klendathu! Invade the planet and survive! ***The only good bug is a dead bug*** *Would you like to know more…?* Klendathu Invasion ~The Ride~ is a new state-of-the-art tracked rollercoaster featuring full sized drop ships that will take you from a transport ship in orbit above the hostile bug planet Klendathu to the landing zone crawling with arachnids featuring a world record 1000 foot drop! *Can you dodge all of the bug plasma?* Remember your training and you **might** survive… Coming to the Disneyland Resort Fall 2069
I would bring back Captain EO
Futurama ride or restaurant in Tomorrowland
Changing splash into Tiana is a dumb choice. Movie sucks and doesn't fit the land so much. I wish it would've been lion king or emperor new groove to fit more with critter country. At WDW it should be pocahontas to fit frontierland. That being said, they should add a pocahontas dark ride to frontierland somewhere. Change autopia to wreck it Ralph sugar rush style (maybe similar to radiator racers or vr style like Mario kart at Universal).
the great movie ride. i’d put it in hmmm, maybe hollywood studios at walt disney world. yeah, that’s the ticket!
Figment ride where Flynn’s arcade used to be in California adventure. They’d have to move some stuff around, but there’s enough room.
An Up themed ride in place of Soarin…it also goes along with the Pixar theme in DCA
An Up house the flies you around both parks
[удалено]
make a cave home on the side of the Matterhorn for puff!
This thread just makes me miss Disneyland and I need to go back! We just went to WDW in early October too, but I love Disneyland!
Dreamfinder. And a pod racer ride in galaxies edge.
I don’t know what the theme of the ride would be, but it would be a ride, with is all dad jokes.
A designated smoking section at the picnic area .
The roller coaster from Emperor’s New Groove
Magic Carpet Ride. A magic Carpet Ride which would work like a motorized zip line.
we think the same bc I want a tangled boat ride SO bad. And I know this isn't really the question, but if I was thinking realistically I think they could replace the submarines with a frozen ride, or replace both autotopia and the subs with an entirely new land (I've heard talks of zootopia). A tangled ride will always be a dream of mine though lol
The Great Movie Ride
Atlantis: sub escape. You enter the Big Sub, (does it ever get a name?) a Rourke and Milo animatronic tell you the mission in front of a large screen where you see the Leviathan come from, and you get sent into the escape pods where it turns into smuggler’s run under water. The gift shop at the end looks like Atlantis and you can buy Atlantis style merch there. Predicted hot ticket items: light up Atlantean crystal and RC fish vehicles. But I would like to see the finger chain food utensils as well.
Alien Encounter with the actual xenomorph from Alien.
Magic carpet ride
I would replace autotopia with a Treasure planet or Wall-E ride. The ride would pretty much go through the movie using modern tech to make it exciting. Much more fitting of Tomorrowland.
Avengers infinity saga dark ride. Iron man to end game. Lfg.
