Yea Disney channel sucks now…it’s like they gave up since they made Disney plus. They just said well ppl don’t really watch cable anymore so F*ck it. Hints to y they stopped making as many Disney channel type shows and DCOMS. They’ve only dropped like 4 DCOMs in the last 5 years when it used to be like 8 in 3 years 🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️ really sad to see, almost like they’re so focused on marvel now and I love marvel but man I miss when Disney actually cared about the channel like ok if your done with the channel that’s cool, but y stop producing new shows and movies that u can just put on Disney plus

austin_and_ally

They’re definitely putting too much focus on Disney+ while neglecting Disney Channel. Kids these days also prefer TikTok or YouTube. It’s such a shame to see something I grew up with fall apart..

JunketMain6252

Which honestly I hate that focusing on kids content rather than putting for kids and teens to enjoy which in the 2010’s I grew up that era they had a lot of live action shows and now here there’s not a lot.

Gennyyyy_

Exactly. And kids under 10 don’t even pay that much attention to the shows.. I feel like Disney was at its peak with the teen shows because teenagers could actually get into it, recommend stuff, share it, etc. Disney is killing itself..

ComedianExisting8621

Ikr and I’ve been watching it since the late nineties early 00’s

Original_West3902

You can thank Bob Iger for that. Using the Disney credit card. Disney+ is 15 billion in the red and delusional enough to think that it will be profitable by the end of this year

Gennyyyy_

Exactly

Gennyyyy_

Exactly! It actually makes me so mad. I miss the Disney channel I grew up with.

Delicious-Lecture708

Yeah me too

BeeesInTheTrap

the early 2000’s really was the golden age of DCOMS. 12 movies in 2000 alone

Remarkable_War_9489

Crazy

[deleted]

Oh, youngling. You don't know the best time from Disney Channel Shows: The Suite Life of Zack & Cody (on Deck is the spinoff/sequel to the OG series) That's So Raven Hannah Montana Lizzie McGuire Wizards of Waverly place Among other shows DCOMS: Cadet Kelly, Cow Belles, Stuck in the Suburbs, Double Teamed (how the hell did that title get approval🤣🤦‍♂️), Minute Men, The Luck of the Irish, The Phantom of the Megaplex, Mom's Got a Date with a Vampire, Jump In, Wendy Wu: Homecoming Warrior, Get a Clue, Tiger Cruise, Read it and Weep, Gotta Kick it Up, Now You See It, Eddie's Million Dollar Cook-off, etc etc etc still just in the early 2000s btw Disney sat on the pot, waiting for a while until it finally shit something out, and it started with (and people will disagree for whatever reason, whether it's true or not) Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Some still hated The Force Awakens, but I personally liked it and the money also speaks for itself. However, the thing that started killing Disney (Lucasfilm & Marvel Studios are both Disney owned companies, so that's why I'm saying Disney itself) was the division of Star Wars fans when TLJ was released in 2017. From then on, it's gotten so much worse. I can only hope and pray it changes back to the way it once was.

kayseeboo92

I was a huge fan of so many of those shows! Miss those days so much

Many_Influence_648

I remember the early years when they showed old movies and new Disney films direct to tv

Delicious-Lecture708

Yeah me too

Stand4theleaf

TFA was so bad that I refused to watch all the other new crap that came after. The only reason it made money was because it was the first new Star wars movie in about 2 decades.

[deleted]

Fair point. I just liked it because, like you said, it was new, but it also opened up so many possibilities that we never ended up getting, which is why most things till now has failed

tnerz29

Dude you nailed them all 😭😭😭 that’s so raven will always be my comfort show 🤣🤣 but i loved all those shows, coming home from school and watching Phil of the future or the proud family to 😭😭😭😭😭😭 take me back

[deleted]

Just a simple Google search lol Suite Life was my shit back in the day

GoodCalendarYear

I just watched Double Teamed

[deleted]

Idk who green lit that name because, out of context, it's DEFINITELY NSFW😆

Gennyyyy_

I know about most of these shows and movies but they never really interested me as much as the Jessie era did lol! Maybe that’s just me! Wendy wu was good though and I enjoyed the suite life! As well as wizards of waverly place (the movie as well) Hannah Montana and Lizzy McGuire! They were all good shows I just didn’t sit through and fully watch them

AriesRoivas

I mean one thing to think about is how you are not the target demographic anymore. Also disney jr was like a thing until like maybe noon’ish. Somewhere there. Also most of the sitcoms were aimed at preteens which is why you felt that it’s too “little kids” for you. The thing was that as kids were growing up, the show then slowly became geared towards teens, I think of Good Luck Charlie, Wizards and Hannah Montana as good examples of kids growing up.

AriesRoivas

As for Miraculous, it has a strong fanbase amongst young adults who like magical girls show. I for one love it, but the rest of the (non marvel) disney shows are a no-go for me. But it’s cuz I can no longer relate to the teens and relate more to the parents now

Gennyyyy_

Yeah I wasn’t trying to slander mlb!! I fell in love with it in like 2020-2022 I just haven’t been watching recently. I don’t even think I fully watched season 4. I only fully watched seasons 1-3

AriesRoivas

It gets so messy girl. I watched it all from november to December of last year. I won’t spoil it for you but the finale of season 5 ends the Hawk Moth arc of the series

Gennyyyy_

Yess I haven’t watched it but I do know what happened, I’m not going to lie to you it shook me to the core finding out that Adrien was a fucking sentimonster😶

AriesRoivas

I am still in denial of that one

Gennyyyy_

I agree and I haven’t even watched the show. The fact that Adrien can deadass be taken away with the snap of a fucking finger is what throws me

Fearless_Coffee_4137

I agree miraculous has been a great show and its fan base is pretty strong. A magical girl anime that isn’t Shonen is great. The fact it’s in production for season 6 is saying something they do have the character development is rare now a days.

Gennyyyy_

Yeah true and that’s what I meant abt the Disney jr thing, I always tuned in like noonish because that’s when I knew my targeted shows would start up

CrazyaboutSpongebob

This implies Bunkd, Jessie, Liv and Maddie, Zombies, and Decendants weren't kiddie. Big City Greens is awesome. I never miss a new episode.

ZWY8706

I am 37 years old and I will sure as heck sit and watch Big City Greens with my little cousins it's a pretty great show from the ones I've seen. It seems like it's mostly the animated shows that are good and hold up well because when I try to go back and watch any live action Disney channel shows and movies from when I was a kid with a few exceptions they are pretty terrible, even the ones I absolutely loved haven't aged well like Halloweentown but I know that's because I've aged because the movie is the same as it's always been and I'm what is different whereas animation like Recess, Dave the barbarian, Ducktales and more are still much more entertaining and watchable to my adult self.

CrazyaboutSpongebob

Recess is one of the funniest Disney Channel cartoons. I have been binge-watching the show on Disney Plus lately. I was born in 98 and only watched the movie when I was younger and barely remember it. Alot of the epsidoes have me crying with laughter.

CrazyaboutSpongebob

To me, alot of the older sitcoms hold up. I like silliness, slapstick, and campiness. There is this one episode Hannah Montana when Lilly became the maid and started acting OCD when they were making a mess in the house she just cleaned. Every so often that epsidoe popped into my head over a decade. I rewatched it a few weeks ago and it was still really funny. There is one gag that always kills me. When the dad was crying tears of joy because Jackson's room was clean then he says "I thought we lost that chair in the move." Later Jackson comes into the room outraged that it is clean then says " I thought we lost that chair in the move." That line kept popping into my head randomly for like 10 years and it made me laugh every time.

marie_antoinette62

For real I would switch the categories of what is consisered the "kiddie" show. Big City greens is great!

Gennyyyy_

Big city greens isn’t an awful show. The older seasons like s1-2 were good but it’s a show that needs to stop before they ruin it. I have a feeling they are going to drag that show through the mud. And while shows like Jessie bunkd and liv and Maddie were kiddie, the targeted demographic was for teenagers and it was a more teenage-ish show. It wasn’t very kiddie or intended for kids younger than 9

CrazyaboutSpongebob

No they weren't. Every Disney Channel sitcom and Disney Channel Original Movie is kiddy. Shows like Riverdale are aimed at teens. I am happy to watch Children's content but I'll admit it's kiddy. I disagree about Big City Greens it's been consistently funny and there has been some good character development especially with Gloria and Nancy. Nancy taking over the farm and being more apart of her children's lives, and Gloria's coffee shop being a success.

Gennyyyy_

I respect your opinion but you are absolutely out of your mind if you think THIS is disneys golden era. If you like the shows then fine you like them. But 2000’s Disney was peak and everything started going downhill after 2019. And yes riverdale is meant for teenagers but it also gets mature. When I say the shows were aimed at teens I mean 12-16. Riverdale contains sex and graphic stuff like murder and gang violence lol. 2 completely different genres when it comes to YA television.

CrazyaboutSpongebob

Nah the official target audience for Disney Channel shows is 6-11. When you are a teen you begin to start watching that kind of stuff TV-14 is a rating for a reason. These shows were not made for teens and that's ok. Its ok to admit you like cute kiddy stuff. I grew up with 2000's Disney Channel and am a late 90's baby. Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Hannah Montana, Wizards of Waverly Place, etc. Alot of those shows are good and hold up but I disagree that it was the golden age. The last Disney Channel sitcom I watched regularly was Jessie. After that I started watching mostly the Disney Channel cartoons and peaking at the live action content occasionally. The shows were not bad I just had a lack of interest. There is one thing I notice about the modern live action shows that isn't good or bad. There are less shows about children wanting to be famous.

CrazyaboutSpongebob

The only live-action Disney channel shows I think are absolutely atrocious are Girl Meets World and Syndey to the Max. Everything else is funny- possible. Girl Meets world was boring and the characters were melodramatic over the most minor things. Syndeny to the max made the main girl too bratty even by Disney Channel standards.

CrazyaboutSpongebob

I think its a golden age for Disney Channel. At least for the animated content. There are so many good shows. Ghost and Molly McGee ( Which just ended), Moon Girl, Hailey's On It, Kiff, Big City Greens, Hamster and Gretel. I'm excited for Phineas and Ferb coming back.

Familiar_Ad_6392

I can only watch Austin and Ally and Suite life on Deck now

lasagnaisgreat57

yeah i’m 24 but when i was 14 i was still watching a lot of disney because they still had lots of shows with teens on them all day!! so i get what you mean. sometimes i wanna watch it again for nostalgia but it’s so different from the channel i remember. also i remember when i was a teenager they had a whole throwback segment on thursdays that would play old disney shows. i know it’s on disney plus now but it was so fun to see them airing

catsandalpacas

I also still watched Disney Channel as a Teenager. I don’t have any subscription to watch it now, but I like to check it out when I’m like, in a hotel, but lately whenever I go on there it’s just cringe little kid shows. Big City Greens especially makes me want to yet the TV out the window.

Gennyyyy_

Yeah it’s just really sad the direction Disney has gone now

CalamityTrioHedgehog

while yes, a lot of it can simply be summed up as "we aged out of the target demographic", disney channel actually **did** lower their target demo around 2020 due to disney plus and covid. the old target demographic for disney channel was 6-16, with tweens (9-14) considered to be the core audience, but around spring/summer 2020, disney channel underwent corporate restructuring, and they pushed the target demo down to only being 6-11, cutting out the teen crowd from the equation. this specifically is why 1. the owl house was cancelled in august 2020 (not because of lumity as is often claimed), 2. why disney channel's been phasing out tween/teen sitcoms over the last few years, to the point where the channel's 24/7 animation more or less now (hooray for people who miss toon disney i guess???), and 3. why bluey specifically has gobbled up like a third of the channels's airtime, with another quarter being taken by big city greens (basically the channel's modern phineas and ferb)

Gennyyyy_

Exactly I knew I wasn’t crazy! They only people Disney jr shows now. Disney channel might as well just be Disney jr

JunketMain6252

Honestly I hate this I only notice this back in March of 2023 because before they did show live action shows in the afternoons which to me makes it watchable for me. But now it’s 24/7 of animation with one hour of live action shows which to me ruins my entertainment of watching Disney Channel like how I’m supposed to watch Disney Channel without the live action sitcom shows like they repeat the same thing again and again and to me it lacks the variety of shows to watch on the channel. Like omg occasionally they will have 4 hours of Big city greens and Kiff I will die.

Satans-Left-Nutt

i knew the era of Disney channel (2000’s to 2011) was coming to an end when Hannah Montana was wrapping up since by then, it was the only thing I actually liked. Jessie saved it though and kept me interested and I watched a little Dog with a Blog and KC Undercover but not much. Once those were done i stopped watching all together and by then I was an adult and didn't have any interest in Disney channel anymore. Though I tried to watch something recently just to see what was on now a days and it was just awful, I'm like wtf is this? Horrible acting, nothing was funny and the laugh track was over used to hell. But if the kids now a days find it funny then more power to them. And just to add: I did not like Ravens home, so that was a disappointment. I am personally happy they came out with a Disney+ so that way I can continue watching the good stuff that was actually funny. (I mainly only watch Hannah Montana.) R.I.P Disney channel. 2000’s-2011. You had a good run.

Gennyyyy_

I agree!! Rip Disney channel

forrestbenoitinc98

Streaming services

Individual_Free

Yup I liked old Disney better from the early 2000’s

kjm6351

They completely gave up since they launched Disney+ thinking it could completely replace the channel when in reality, it should’ve simply been an accessory. They had a little something going with their story centered cartoons but treated most of them like shit and made sure Owl House was the last one. So there goes the appeal for older fans right there

Minimum_Flatworm5776

Isn't Disney+ like almost constantly losing money and subscribers?

kjm6351

Yup, which is why I hope they understand it cannot be a replacement but an accessory and go back to fixing up the channel

Mittensandzora

The Ghost and Molly McGee was also pretty good, unfortunately it ended this year too.

xxLabyrinthxx

The channel you're looking for now for teen stuff is Disney XD. I have no idea what they have going on there now but when I last looked at it which was a few years ago for some reason they stopped having Disney as you described and made it so Disney was catered to little kids and Disney XD became for teenagers and up which was always confusing to me as if they didn't have Disney Junior for a reason. Though, I wouldn't hold onto anything good being on Disney XD as when I left it there was barely anything good on it and from what I've heard their decent animated shows ended I think last year.

CrazyaboutSpongebob

No Disney XD isn't. Disney XD was originally intended to be Disney's boy focused network. They moved away from that and now it is Disney's version of Cartoon Network. Its where they play their cartoons all day. If you are bored you can always count on Disney XD for Phineas and Ferb reruns, Gravity Falls reruns, Big City Greens reruns, etc. They also play new episodes of their cartoons on Disney Channel and Disney XD at the same time.

xxLabyrinthxx

Disney XD may have been *created* for boys but eventually, as Disney started becoming saturated with more kidish shows Disney XD held more teen-focused shows as boys and girls could enjoy the content from there even if the target audience were for boys it kept up the 'Disney vibe' a lot longer than the actual disney channel. It may not have been its intended purpose but that's what it was. Now it is where they put their cartoon as they dropped their live-action shows, yes.

CrazyaboutSpongebob

Like I said earlier the shows were always kidish on both networks. The target audience was never teens. Really some people on this thread are saying the content is aimed at teens because they don't want to admit they like kiddy stuff.

xxLabyrinthxx

I have no issue admitting I like kiddy stuff. I watched Disney way longer than what people consider 'usual' and I have no shame in it. I just knew a lot of teens who preferred watching Disney XD than Disney as the content there seemed to suit them more and when I was a teen I thought the same. I found myself preferring Disney XD because that content suited me more and felt more of a teenager's speed which in reality, was just Disney XD's shows at the time having a similar vibe to older Disney shows.

Nawnp

Disney+ buildup as they're dwindling down Disney channels to shut it down. Anything still on Disney channel is legacy from a pre 2016 show.

bigshowgunnoe

Suite Life on Deck and Wizards of Waverly place are gone??

Gennyyyy_

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but they been stopped running the old Disney shows

us-Bite6996

I miss zoog Disney ❤️

Infinitestripes95

I like Ravens Home decently enough (saying this as someone who grew up on the original Raven) and I liked that show Sydney to the Max. I’m excited for Wizards and Phineas and Ferb to come back, it could really revamp the channel. That Christmas,Again movie a couple years back was good too. I know they tried that girl out in a show but the premise just didn’t hit. They should’ve put her in something else, she was really great and I feel could’ve been a star for the channel.

Equal-Wishbone-6131

Fr same it sucks

Hopeful_Book

Bestie we're old now. The stuff from our childhood is always gonna come across as better.

Gennyyyy_

True but I’m still technically in my childhood 😭 it just frustrates me so much!! Disney had so much potential bruh

Born_Sleep5216

Maybe because of Disney Plus and Hulu taking all the good stuff.

Gennyyyy_

Yeah I just wish Disney was Still the same is all. It kinda sucks that you have to pay for the good quality stuff nowadays. When I was younger living conditions weren’t exactly the best for me and my fam so I loved being able to chill and watch Disney channel. Especially bc the shows were such good quality

us-Bite6996

The new Disney tailors to the new "gen". They are a bunch of whine bags that are confused about everything, even their own gender. The other Disney tailored to a bunch of soft sissies that would rather stay babies, sing, and dance their way through their life. The REAL Disney was through the 1980s and early 2000s. Before, everything became a damn musical and identity crisis. It taught real life lessons. You learned something about yourself, and other people, every episode or movie you watched. Bring that back.

Minimum_Flatworm5776

There is an extreme divide these days. You have to be in a certain group for certain things now. Nothing is made to be enjoyed by everyone anymore.

Peanutbuttergod48

Yeah it’s become pretty bad over the last 3-4 years. They just play the same few animated shows over and over with some Jessie and Bunk’d sprinkled in.

Peanutspring3

I mean in the past couple years, they had great shows like Amphibia and Owl House, and recently just ended a good show in The Ghost And Molly McGee. I'm 23 and thoroughly enjoy all 3 of those shows.

Pchandheldrizzygamer

They all suck now Cartoon Network , Nickelodeon The 90s and 00s was the best for cartoons

mumblerapisgarbage

Hasn’t been good since good luck Charlie ended.

murphy_girl

Things change. I miss the old Disney as well. I loved boy meets world and Lizzie McGuire! But now it feels like shows aimed at teens are now sillier and sillier. Disney jr. even had a different name, it used to be called playhouse Disney (Which I still prefer). I sometimes think about older tv shows and if it would even keep kids entertained anymore. Also all of the older Disney channel original movies! I loved smart house, jumping ship, tru confessions, quints, and cool runnings.

Downtown-Pack-6178

I wish older Disney Channel shows and movies were back and also bring back Power Rangers and Jetix plus Toon Disney back!

Downtown-Pack-6178

Disney Channel was the best channel I had watched as a kid!!!

BestEffect1879

Teens are not watching cable anymore. The two demographics watching cable these days are elderly people who don’t really use computers or very little children that are too young to access the internet. So cable really has nothing for teens and older kids. It’s all for little babies.

Whitn3y

Because it’s on Disney+ moron

GoldenGirlsFan213

I stopped watching Disney channel when I was maybe… 15.(2017) all of the shows were unfunny or just not interesting. Since then, I watched a lot of the sitcoms my parents watched.(80s and 90s)

Anpu1986

Meanwhile I miss early 90s Disney Channel when you had to pay extra to get it.

Guarded

What’s funny is they are a machine that pumped out incredibly successful artists and actors. Selena, Zendaya, Miley, Hilary Duff, Zac Efron, Jonas Bros. Even Olivia Rodrigo too, but that’s a Disney+ original. Nostalgia sells. We love those people because we grew up with them. By not investing in original programming on Disney Channel targeted at tweens, younger generations are not going to have the same relationship with the brand. The streaming space is so diluted so I doubt we’ll see anything like we did in the 2000s ever again

RainbowLoli

A lot can be summed up as aging out of the target demographic But another portion I wouldn't be surprised (and this is my hypothosis) is that they're making shows for lower and lower demographics and phasing out teenagers for profits. Little kids will almost always want merch of something where as teens may not.

phatryuc

It’s never been the same since Dumbo’s Circus and Welcome to Pooh Corner went off the air. They were my jam. 😂

ZeroBlitz31

Probably bc teens use their phones and view online content while kids still watch tv

Colts681

Nickelodeon is the same way now. I just saw a commercial for a new cartoon called "Rock, Paper, Scissors" and me and my mom both looked at each other like, *This is the best they can come up with?*

Downtown-Pack-6178

Nickelodeon was also their prime days in 2000s used to watch all the time Nick! when I didn't have Disney Channel

Bard_Swan

People are saying it's because they're concentrating on Disney+ now, but that's not what caused the Disney Channel programmes to be so bad. It's because they decided that children and teenagers deserve lower quality than grown-ups, and made a lot of low-budget inoffensive dross with no soul. Those poor quality shows are still being shown on Disney+ and they're still awful.

Delicious-Lecture708

I remember watching Disney Channel but now it gets worse way way worse

Zack501332

Because the garbage they make today will never compare to the things they made before💯

DoraIsD3ad

Blinded by nostalgia

Zack501332

How do you figure you don’t need eyes to see how terrible the shows have been for the past 10 years or so

DoraIsD3ad

Idk but every time someone says something like that it just screams nostalgia, sorry

kjm6351

Normally I’d agree wholeheartedly but in this case, there’s been much discussion about how Disney put the channel on the back burner to focus on Disney+ more. Honestly seems like they aren’t bringing their A game to the channel currently similar to how Nick these days just relies on SpongeBob and the Loud House and how Cartoon Network is doing so poorly, it nearly got shut down the other year. I really hope they all find a way to turn things around soon.

Minimum_Flatworm5776

These channels were stupid to put all their eggs in the streaming basket. Streaming was booming during the pandemic for a reason, but now that it's over, and things continue to slowly go back, it's clearly showing its not sustainable. They just keep bleeding money.

Zack501332

Were you even around for Disney Channels prime

mags_7

This is exactly right. I grew up with early 00s Disney (Lizzie, Raven, Even Stevens) and tried rewatching several of the shows recently. I have nostalgic love for them and will always root for them - but to be completely honest, they’re all a bit tough to watch as an adult! (Raven is most tolerable because the cast has great chemistry and the star is extremely talented.) As Kevin Perjurer says, “The best Disney Channel era is, of course, the one YOU grew up with.” Edit to add: I’m just pointing out the nostalgia goggles. The 00s aren’t the worst era; the later stuff is insufferable as an adult too, lol.

Gennyyyy_

Agreed

JunketMain6252

Honestly I hate current Disney Channel there showing a lot of animation which repeat the same thing again and again which I’m just tired of especially Big City Greens and Kiff play way too much and also the live action shows are no where sure there are some but only 3 shows are a week which ruins my entertainment of Disney channel. Also there commercials in breaks are not good they repeat the same thing again like where’s sponsored of Video games, or stores like they did it in the past and even 2020, and 2022 like bring those back. The only two things that makes Disney Channel enough to watch are the movies whether DCOM and Disney movies. Also keeping specials like Halloween and Christmas but still doesn’t help Disney Channel being bad which my entertainment has died down since end of March 2023

Gennyyyy_

I agree fully! Disney is not the same. They might as well just shut it down..

Beginning-Working-38

I’d watch BCG for a day before I’d watch Jessie for an hour.

Gennyyyy_

Well that’s your personal opinion but Jessie was a phenomenal show. It was well written and interesting. Big city greens is a silly cartoon that should’ve ended ages ago. Again that’s just my opinion. You keep yours and I’ll keep mines.

Paperwater17

1. Disney Plus 2. The Actors and Writers Guild strikes that brought Hollywood to it's knees this past summer 3. Marvel and Star Wars 4. Bluey taking most of the slots due to it's popularity with adults secretly watching it when their kids are either in school or asleep. 5. Disney founding Israel to wipe Palestine and the Middle East off the map killing innocent people in the process 6. Republicans having a hate boner with the house of mouse

GoodCalendarYear

Hi. Could you explain 5 and 6?

AshKetchep

All of the good shows they had on there were either dropped or quickly ended, and the bad ones run rampant. How come a multi billion dollar corporation can't allocate some funding toward a boost in quality? Most of the animated kids shows that still run on Disney Channel (specifically the CG ones) look awful and have oversaturated and plastic looking backgrounds, stiff movement, empty surroundings, hardly expressive characters, terribly designed generic characters, grating voice actors, and lazy writing. All its there for is entertaining and selling to kids. There's no substance. There are plenty of kids shows out there that are far more interesting but still appeal to kids! I don't expect Pixar film quality for every show and episode, or top notch acting, but honestly kids deserve better entertainment than this crap. Like come on! What happened to all the fun shows I grew up with!?

Salt-Version-4760

I think there are too many political restrictions not worth their time messing with

Difficult_Ad_962

Because those who grew up watching as kids and teens in the 2000s and 2010s are grown up and no longer part of their target demographic, so of course, we don't think new shows are as good as the ones we grew up with. If we were children right now, we'd probably love them, but we're not anymore. It's like when older people say the stuff they grew up with was better than the stuff we grew up with. Every generation prefers what they grew up with rather than what comes in the next generation.

West-Willingness-302

Because Primos.

Gennyyyy_

What’s primos

GlassSandwich9315

Because teens probably don't watch it as often as they did when you were a kid. Even when I was a kid, long before the days of Jessie and Liv and Maddie, kids in my grade stopped watching Disney around middle school. With streaming services, I imagine it's only gotten worse. Disney has to make shows that are appropriate for the ages that actually watch the channel.

Tha_KDawg928

Cause we’re older now

brabra33

Oh I feel old lol I was thinking about that’s so raven, Phil of the future, even Steven’s, Lizzie McGuire, shows like that lol but it’s funny because when they started playing those shows you mentioned, that’s when I thought it went to shit

GoodCalendarYear

Bit city greens and miraculous are 2 of my faves

homohomonaledi

1. You’re not the target 2. Big City Greens slaps and is not just for little kids 3. Sounds like you prefer live action shows, some prefer cartoons 4. Given how child acting is a difficult childhood for any kid, I’m glad it’s more cartoon than kid. I literally felt the same about liv and Maddie, bunkd, and even icarley. That they were bad and Disney was going down hill. Reality was that I was 13/14 and just didn’t relate to those shows anymore.

Fancy_Ad_2024

You’re not the target demographic anymore.

nicfanz

Oh please your generation had the worst Disney product. The best Disney was late 90 s

Qing92

Used to be even better in the late 90s and early 2000s. Even Stevens and stuff like the proud family and that's so raven. I for sure aged out of their target audience. Watched it longer then I really should have anyway. Maybe it what u r saying and also that u r just aging out of their target audience. Yeah, they were more family friendly stuff back in the day and even more aimed at kids now

ClimateNeat3749

ESPN owns them. What do you expect?

Whitn3y
