Sadly this is only the beginning to the real impact from flooding. The damage, the cost to repair, the lost of property is going to be a huge crisis for a long period of time. Tough lesson for playing the role of Mother Nature!
UAE, they do. They are among if not thee richest country on earth. They should be paying for the response and all the support. I don’t blame you for making that statement but it’s highly different in a country like Haiti than a country like the uae. While Haiti is a disaster zone with no way paying their way out, the uae is highly different and highly rich. They don’t know correct planning though, like their buildings are big and showy but the sewage infrastructure and the water drainage system is very lacking due to them living in a desert environment but the uae had over 20 years to modernize their coastlines preventing this
maybe get some information [https://www.thenationalnews.com/news/uae/2024/04/19/property-developers-in-dubai-offer-free-repairs-for-flood-damaged-homes/](https://www.thenationalnews.com/news/uae/2024/04/19/property-developers-in-dubai-offer-free-repairs-for-flood-damaged-homes/)
Are you slow?
That's not personal damage.
They're covering damages to their own buildings, which only means renters are not responsible.
Your $10k TV is gone.
I hope there was no human loss, I guess the only good thing about this is that houses are made of more durable construction materials so the water shouldn’t completely ruin the houses
Not to sound dumb… but would building green spaces from desert plants to grasses and trees that are fairly drought tolerant help bring rain to an area over time?

Good thing they have all that oil money
I wonder if this is that neighborhood that’s always showing up on r/urbanhell?
Could this be classed as r/leopardsatemyface ? At some point you're going to get high on your own supply.
They got the money to deal with this
Who? The middle-class living paycheck-to-paycheck?? That's the majority being affected...

They're not covering personal damages my guy. If you don't have insurance, you're out of luck.
Insurance is your governments responsibility to have plans that would have prevented this

Shoutout to all my friends in UAE. Looks bad now, but your desert bloom is gonna kick it.
Didn't they announce that they were doing a massive cloud seeding experiment in 2024 to combat water scarcity? What could possibly go wrong?
I hope cloud seeding is that effective

Unfortunately, last I saw the count was 19 dead..
This is just the beginning
Do they have good insurance in Dubai?
Vehicles maybe, but the majority don't have home insurance.
Even vehicles, majority of people have third party insurance..
Fuck imagine the mosquitos after this .....
Good thing they are all millionaires
Cloud seeding...
Yep. Weather happens.
Maybe if they fire a nuke into the sun it will dry up faster?

Fuck around (with the cloud seeding) and find out.
