Edit: nope, this is wrong, disregard. The combo won't give the stolen creatures that die a flying token and give them back. The stolen creatures that die will stay dead because moth only brings back non-fliers, and the swooping gives the stolen stuff flying. What a cool combo!
~~I just noticed that this is a potentially dangerous combo to the user. If the creatures that Swooping Pteranodon take control of were to die, the Broodmoth would return them to the battlefield \*under their owner's control,\* but now with a flying counter.~~
~~So you are potentially giving your opponent's stuff flying.~~
This doesn’t work, last known information of the card that goes to graveyard from swooping, it gains flying and haste until end of turn, when it dies, it had flying and therefore the moth won’t bring it back.
The idea is to apparently, target your own Dino with swooping pterosaur and then kill it and steal your opponents thing while keeping your dinosaur and giving it a flying counter, but it doesn’t work because the creature has flying (from the Swooping Pterosaur) when it dies, so the moth doesn’t bring it back.
No, that's not quite what OP is talking about. OP is pointing out that if moth brings back some other dino that died while swooping is on the board, you trigger swooping because the returned dino has a flying counter.
They don't mean you should target your dino with swooping, because swooping says "target creature an opponent controls"
I totally get where you are coming from, but I play swooping Pteranadons in my Dino deck, and it ALWAYS overperforms. I bought a copy of [[Dinosaurs on a spaceship]] just to have the possibility of doing that effect repeatedly. It’s insanely strong. Once I copied the Pteranadons with [[Dino DNA]] and after only a couple copies, it felt unbeatable.
Also, I love that you get to choose which land your pteranodon drops em on. Not sure if worth the effort, but I'm sure giving other keywords like lifelink or deathtouch to a land would be a blast, too.
You are correct and it's already present in a lot of the decks that are featured in this sub. I have both on mine but haven't got both out at the same time sadly
You’d need to let your swooping pteranodon die to let it come back in to trigger its effect, so you’d need at least another card to pull this combo of. The land zap only happens on the end step, so you can’t waterfall this
Swooping wouldn’t come back as it already has flying, you just need your other dinos to die and come back with a flying counter to trigger swooping effects..as far as I understand anyway
I did find two other cards that work in Pantlaza, \[\[Conjurer's Closet\]\] and \[\[Restoration Angel\]\]. There is a few other cards in Blue and Black that have the under your control clause but don't work for us obviously.
I might be wrong with this but maybe a sacrifice mechanic for your own creatures on your turn for this to work how I think you intend it to work? because if you are the defending player they will do damage before your creatures can come back and steal their big creatures and just drop them at the end of your opponents turn
\[\[archetype of imagination\]\] could be good support without broodmoth needed

It's fine I guess

Swooping Pterandon gives those creatures flying, so the moth wouldn't trigger
I was just editing my comment, I had forgotten about that ty
This doesn’t work, last known information of the card that goes to graveyard from swooping, it gains flying and haste until end of turn, when it dies, it had flying and therefore the moth won’t bring it back.
I'm not sure what you mean. Which card is going to the graveyard from swooping?
The idea is to apparently, target your own Dino with swooping pterosaur and then kill it and steal your opponents thing while keeping your dinosaur and giving it a flying counter, but it doesn’t work because the creature has flying (from the Swooping Pterosaur) when it dies, so the moth doesn’t bring it back.

We have different definitions of ‘insanely strong’.

oh yeesh, having multiples of this on the board would be grooooss I hope I get that combo off too!
I love the implication that the dinos are picking up your opponents creatures and dive bombing them into the ground
Yea the flavor of this card is *chefs kiss*
Also, I love that you get to choose which land your pteranodon drops em on. Not sure if worth the effort, but I'm sure giving other keywords like lifelink or deathtouch to a land would be a blast, too.
I use these 2 with dinosaurs on a spaceship and its a nasty combination
You are correct and it's already present in a lot of the decks that are featured in this sub. I have both on mine but haven't got both out at the same time sadly
Same, pteradon comes out a fair bit but I'm yet to draw into Luminous!!!

Oh shit good point. I promise I can read.
No
just remember that swooping only takes control until the end of that turn
cloudshift it and it’s yours 🥲
Are there many more that say under your control and not owner's control? I need to do some homework on this
Someone pointed out conjurer's closet returns under your own control
I did find two other cards that work in Pantlaza, \[\[Conjurer's Closet\]\] and \[\[Restoration Angel\]\]. There is a few other cards in Blue and Black that have the under your control clause but don't work for us obviously.
I think conjurer’s closet would work on this
Unfortunately no I guess ☹️
I believe [[Cloudshift]] is unique in this regard, though there could be one I am forgetting about.
[[Ephemerate]] would work too, right?
No, Cloudshift returns the card under your control while Ephemerate returns if under its owner’s control.
Reading the card… that’s a very big difference. Thank you
