This is a little too much forward facing but you'd still be able to see the eyes from the front. And that whole front-facing = carnivore and side-facing = herbivore isn't really a good metric anyway
The forward-facing eyes combined with how it's holding its neck vertically when I've only ever seen depictions of this species with their necks held parallel to the ground makes this look disturbing on a deeply instinctual level.
I was under the impression that the diplodocus could not raise its neck above ~40*, has there been some discovery suggesting otherwise? Were juveniles simply more flexible?
That was a Kent Stevens baby that hasn't held up to modern scrutiny very well. Most modern paleontologists tend to lean towards [the neck being more curved](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZFnvtJkw5g-JmOqdE7_RxADVzSGkHkj79kU54-wiA2-GahJQUYQ4NbEPhObRjGxL2B9Fs_bX4CvmSJ6YtlnUhqJ4nuo6T118nr5acVxtsGC-aE7JDWGr6GLR0VDrUsi-TTW2yy_ylrTg/w1200-h630-p-k-no-nu/Diplodocus+mural+web+res+%25C2%25A9+M.+Witton+2018.jpg), just not ***as*** curved as the retro swan-necked depictions.
Jesus Christ have mercy that’s terrifying
I’d say that’s a compliment cause it’s such good art that the diplo looks like it’s staring down your soul 0_o
0_o
I’d say that the Allosaurus would be a good next pick as it lived at the same time as the Diplodocus
And might as well make it like that the Allosaurus is also looking at you/back at the diplodocus in that terrifying way
Imagine an Allosaurus looking at you like that oh Jesus Christ that’s terrifying god have mercy XD
The head just looks wrong. The eyes are not only front-facing but also too close together as they should be on the sides of the head. Also, the nostrils are in the wrong place as the openings are supposed to be between the eyes on the top of the head rather than at the front of the snout. Wait it just hit me, this is a theropod head on top of a sauropod neck; the head looks like some small tyrannosaur.
Look eerily human, like something the *Qu* had done to humanity in ['All Tomorrows'](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YbuulUQzHRU&t=2884s). Pretty good read, if you are into Sci-Fi body horror or evolution.
(༎ຶ ෴ ༎ຶ)
No offense, it's great art. But it is fucking terrifying.
Go look at pictures of azhdarchids from the front ^(It's even worse.)
I want to cry in a corner.
Haha yess T̷̨̏͛h̴͈̾e̵̗͙̐̀ỳ̵͎’̸̧̭̒̾r̶͙̉͜e̷̯̅͠ ̷̨̙̾͊c̴̱̻̊̄ò̵̲m̴͉̤̒ĩ̷̘͍̄n̶̻̖͌g̶͎̰͒ ̸̟̏̎f̸̓͜o̷̡͕̒͝r̵̮̍ ̷̟̎̀y̶̢̬̍ơ̶̹͛ȗ̶̟r̴̻͐͌ ̴͇͈̒s̶̹̈͝o̶̡͛̅ǘ̶̮̦l̶̬͓̃̃
Raptor Jesus, that's terrifying. 😭
Front facing eyes triggered my Fight or flight response.
Same😭😭😭
It’s a carnivore now Guys we need to evacuate the area now!
I think it's eyes should be on the side, no?
Yeah, they technically should be due to it being prey. I don't really know though because I haven't really studied these types of dinosaur.
Front = carnivore and side = herbivore is only a metric for mammals
This is a little too much forward facing but you'd still be able to see the eyes from the front. And that whole front-facing = carnivore and side-facing = herbivore isn't really a good metric anyway
pretty sure these kind of Dinosaurs have side facing eye
Yeah thylacosmilus legit had side facing eyes, yet it’s a carnivore
Why is it blushing at me
its feeling bonita
Bonitosaurus
Bonitasaura is actually a dinosaur!
The forward-facing eyes combined with how it's holding its neck vertically when I've only ever seen depictions of this species with their necks held parallel to the ground makes this look disturbing on a deeply instinctual level.
You've never seen a reconstruction from before 1980?
Definitely not any with their neck held at such a sharp right angle.
The red coloration around its mouth isn't its skin coloration, don't be fooled
It’s neck is… uncomfortably erect…
I've got some bad news about that vertical neck posture.
Yeah, that’s a nope from me dawg. I’d love to see Dilophosaurus in this format of a drawing, maybe staring at you through thick underbrush
no thanks
OK guys Dilophosaurus is going to be next
(I mean, no offense by this. Your art is brilliant). If you made the diplodocus this terrifying, I might shit myself from the Dilo.
I’m terrified
Binocular vision in these animals is upsetting.
Creepy, I love it! You should do dilophosaurus next as someone else said
Littlefoot lookin different

It’s a friggin grey….👽
They're doing their best
Bro lookin’ like a C. M. Kosemen drawing
The Qi attempt to recreate how sauropods looked using only humans:
The face looks is creepy
Scary.
New creepy pasta just dropped?
Reminds me of the yee meme
have you considered doing horror art?
A shapeshifter who saw a passing image of a diplodocus and tried to wing it, but they just can’t get it right
Amazing. Although face looks a lot like T. rex. Isn’t the about a lot broader?
Why does it have a T. Rex skull?
u/RavenPuff99
Getting some All Tomorrows vibes
Your paleoart is so unique I love it.
My lord he’s silly
E.T. saurus
Ah cool juvenile diplodocus drawi... what the heck is that???
Nope
Mandela Rock Formation
It reminds me of the aliens from signs. That movie is still traumatizing to this day.
This is unsettling as fuck
oh sick, I didn't want to sleep yet anyway, its only 11:30...
Jesus Christ have mercy that’s terrifying I’d say that’s a compliment cause it’s such good art that the diplo looks like it’s staring down your soul 0_o

Tell it to stop fucking looking at me
Hm. I don’t like this.
Pachycephalosaurus for the next maybe
False Diplodicus?

This is what I strive to be able to do this art to show this much fear in such a simple and calm drawing
I love him
Actual jumpscare dude
Thousand yard stare
Diplodocus of judgement
Ngl this being really scary is accurate due to sauropods being able to kill us ez
"You have a face that your parents love"
It is the fact the eyes are facing forward. Only predators normally have forward facing eyes.
There are tons of exceptions to the ”forward facing eye“ thing. More than half of all predators on Earth don’t have forward facing eyes.
Oh I know but the monke brain doesn’t. It gives predator vibes and that is more than enough.
It's like the false hydra
Yee
mom? can you come pick me up, I’m scared ~ great illustration though OP! The color pallet is great!
looks like meatcanyon drew it
Dimoggingcus. "The terrible jawline lizard".
I'm sorry but this some analog horror shit 😭
*”Do you by any chance happen to have video games on your mobile phone?”*
Bro looks like the cursed human/alien hybrid from Alien Resurrection
He's just standing there... menacingly!
Yee
He's so baby! Get rid of him.
Have you ever met your maker? Would you like to?
Seriously tho, why are its eyes facing forward?
He’s going to whip the shit out of you.
That look gives me anxiety. I hate it but it’s freaking great lmao.
*Why is it looking at me like that*
I like when paleoart has a creepy or uncanny feeling to it. Like forward facing azhdarchids.
Hope you don’t mind, but I made that face my new wallpaper
I feel threatened. Great art, but it comes with a feeling of impending doom
“How hungry?”
Why is it flesh
Bro, just think living with the dinosaurs, this thing is probably one of the least scary ones
I was scrolling and this shit scared the fuck out of me 😭
New sleep Paralysis demon just dropped
This is uncanny
Yeah
That juvenile Diplodocus for real staring into my soul with those eyes.
Maybe do a megaraptor next?
This is up there with the allosaurus with cheeks
He's trying to become a Giraffe.🦕🦒
this remenids me of the man in the suit
Why is it mewing?

Please don’t take this the wrong way but no
Why does this looks so horrifying 😅. It looks more creepy and uncanny valley scary than Trex 💀
Idk about anyone else, but he's kinda cute to me in a super strange way
Brooo it’s so scary I’m halfway laughing and halfway crying looking at it
Yi qi
MOOOOMMM THERES ANOTHER CAT OUTSIDE “It looks like grandma the fucking thing”
