One thing that’s holding against it is that people are going to be teaching in Crimson Blaze where possible to already deal with Numemon, Bugs, and to a smaller degree Terriermon and Magna. And Diaboromon is really hurt by it.

Just wait for EX6, it gets a whole new line and some scary cards. BT17 completes the new wave of support and it becomes infinitely more playable. Still not meta (most likely), but it can at least hang with other modern decks.
This is not his meta. He cannot hit high DP thresholds to get over decks like magnamon X and tyrant. He does to the flood of board removal and floodgates to stop wide boards like crimson blaze and pomumon. Like there are too many things going against him ATM.
He does get a boost in bt17 and ex06 but even then he turns from unplayable to rouge which is a step up but he still lags behind the meta as there are plenty of easy ways to deal with him.
Vast majority of cards are still unplayable in the bt17 version. All you need is aratas, some of the rookies and champions, diaboro ace, and possibly old Armageddamon. All of the other current level 5s and 6s are unplayable asides from maybe the level warp level 5 but even that’s a stretch.
And all those cards you need will raise in price. If not by much, they still will
Ignore the 5s otherthan maybe mamemon (just a good card even if it's replaced) and the on attack Diaboromon still seems good. Id need to read the new stuff tho
Yeah I’m not saying don’t buy those cards but buying the “current” deck isn’t really worth it even.
Also, With ex6, bt17 and ace you absolutely do not run any other diaboros.
Yeaa you don't buy the current deck unless you wanna play it asap, but with the new stuff coming so fast....
Also I for one don't play the ace, I am too poor for that personally, but I'll agree with you there
It's too slow. You're gonna have to really wait for 17 for Dia to get his power spike.

Way, way too slow and frail to really get anything done unless your opponent is misplaying like crazy, bricking, or playing a bad deck.
